Thanks for the detailed wings drawing. It’s really cool to see a character with skeletal wings like that. I want to know more about his world and everything.
hehe thanks! I mean feel free to ask away if you want to know more but unfortunately I haven’t got a lot of it figured out. There’s a severe need for worldbuilding but I neglect it a little 😭 I have a lot of unnamed planets and locations.
Understandable. XD It’s supposed to be a reference drawing so it makes sense to only feather one of the wings. Best to leave one bare as an anatomy reference.

Moth might ask Flax a lot of questions if they get to know each other. I like hearing world building from the character’s mouths. I’ll try not to ask anything that requires extensive detail to answer. :p
I can write something about the servant at the entrance letting in a late student, if you want. We can say the only empty seat is next to our group. Awkwardness is natural. XD

Hm… *Flips a coin out of my pocket* If the worst comes to the worst, you can assign heads and tails to two characters if you can’t decide between them. Or assign numbers and tell one of us to pick a number.

I kinda want to add a character here… One from an old WIP, just to see if there was life left in it. XD The world building and character development is terrible. But I still kinda love it.
It’s like Rangers Apprentice+the Silmarilion+Knights of Aerethtrae+Men of Iron. Medieval kids and mythical atmosphere. I haven’t thought of it in months/years except for the times it comes to haunt my memory with vague feelings of guilt. If I were to actually write it, it would need to be completely restructured.
If I did/could, I think he’d miss most of dinner somehow. He’s a kid who accidentally defies rules, despite his genuine attempts to obey everything.

If anyone is interested, I will add a couple new characters that I have been thinking about a lot (forget Dante and Jack they’re just gonna fade into the background) and we could start a new conversation on the other side of the room instead of interrupting Moth, Flax, and Lois

I don’t remember age requirements. In a fantasy school, that could get tricky to calculate. So, I’m supposing the boys are an equivalent of teen years.
Wilhelm Kemp is the second son of Artur Kemp, Protector of (nameless place lol). Wilhelm is a lanky, freckled kid with golden hair and a serious side to his imagination. Probably around 14. Considered a Squire, but not sure the exact rank. As prince, he’s been taught to be a protector of law and people, as a Squire he has the right to carry the classic double edged German long sword.(But his is not quite so huge) Two edges, one for judgement, one for mercy. All that rot. Struggles to find acceptance but pursues purpose wholeheartedly. (I don’t typically use the ennegram personality thing, but he’s a solid 3 wing 2 in an unconventional way.)
I would love to add a face claim, but I have yet to find one. Even though he’s one of my oldest charies. I do have a character mood board in process somewhere that I can share when done.

He crept up the stairway like a creature of the night. A creature of the night with golden hair and freckles.
But he was only like a creature of the night, not one in reality. He focused on setting his feet down silently, keeping his weight balanced evenly.
There were drafts of cold wind in this stairwell. They chilled the back of his neck where his cote’s short collar was usually covered by his blue hood. But his hood was back in that dark little room along with everything else his father had told him was strictly for the out-of-doors in a place like this. He shivered and chaffed his hands together.
“If I was at home, no one would care.” He muttered darkly to the stairs. The stairs didn’t deign a response. Maybe they knew it wasn’t true.
His people did care. They cared about everything. The house of Kemp was one of the protectors of the world, ruling as denizens of the Lighted Ones. As such, a little pettiness in fashion was in order.
Or, that’s what Otto would say. Wilhelm grinned a little and wished for the thousandth time that his brother could have come. Otto, with his dark hair and eyes and that smile most people never noticed.
But heirs and misfits weren’t sent to the same schools. Not that Wilhelm was a misfit… yet. He tripped his way up a few more steps.
At least here he could escape his betrothed.
By the way, the girl is not evil or anything. Just very sweet on him, especially flustered version of him. Drives him batty because he has to be nice to her. Chivalry has its downsides. XD

Aw thanks I was starting to second guess it lol. I get nervous when I post unfinished art sometimes haha.
Also feel free to jump right in whenever you want to! You can bend the world to fit the circumstances if you need it to, for all we know there’s a empty chair next to Flax.

Ooo ok I see. Ah man I’m not sure how much Flax would disclose in character. I think of him as being pretty serious and closed off unless he really considers somebody on his inner circle. He’s really focused on his own survival and doesn’t know fun very well so moth is going to have to work pretty hard lol.
I’ve never heard the term ‘drives him batty’ before but it very much seems like something you would say.
