Ari and Ellis were almost smiling; that was easy to sense. Inwardly, Moth couldn’t help but glow. He kept a firm countenance.
He lifted his bow one last time. “If I make this, Ari must pay homage to my superior skills.”
Unfortunately for him, his arm’s strength gave out before he could aim well. The arrow clattered against the floor. He tapped his bare foot against the floor, then glanced at the other boys. His near-frown could not hide the warmth in his eyes. “I’ll have to prove myself tomorrow. I should probably leave this place and pursue knowledge now. Not sure where to start.”
