May 11, 2017 at 9:19 pm #33045Spring Writing Goal:
Reach 15k words in my WIP. I don’t think I’ve ever written anything over 10k, so it’s a step.I also want to read a few “classics”. Anyone have some recommendations?

May 11, 2017 at 9:21 pm #33049@That_Writer_Girl_99 A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol, (both Dickens) North and South, (Elizabeth Gaskell) Northanger Abbey, (Jane Austen) and Les Miserables (Victor Hugo).
May 11, 2017 at 9:23 pm #33050Wow. Okay.
Jane Austen, huh? Never read any of her stuff. And I’ve wanted to read “A Tale of Two Cities” for a while now. @kate-flournoy

May 11, 2017 at 9:25 pm #33051@that_writer_girl_99 I second A Tale of Two Cities and Les Mis. Also (more than any other classic ever) The Count of Monte Cristo. After that: Ben Hur, The Scarlet Letter, Crime and Punishment, The Ball and the Cross. (Let me know if you want more.)

May 11, 2017 at 9:28 pm #33053I knew you’d have some good ones. Thanks @daeus
Haha…the Count of Monte Cristo, I should’ve guessed.

May 11, 2017 at 9:30 pm #33054@Daeus @That_Writer_Girl_99 yeah, the only reason I didn’t say Count of Monte Cristo is because I knew Daeus would. XD
May 11, 2017 at 9:30 pm #33056Haha. Okay… great. That’s more than I could’ve come with up on my own. Thanks! @daeus @kate-flournoy

May 11, 2017 at 10:11 pm #33064@that_writer_girl_99 The Man Who Was Thursday by G. K. Chesterson, seconding North and South, and The Count of Monte Cristo. (Sorry, I have to add that one now. 😜 These guys have roped me into it. ) Also, THE LITTLE WHITE HORSE BY ELIZABETH GOUDGE I love that book soooo much!! But I won’t throw any salmon-pink geraniums at you if you don’t read it, never fear. 😉 It’s written kinda like a classic but it’s not on any official classics list I think.
Just curious, has anyone hereabouts read it?

May 12, 2017 at 10:20 am #33071@that_writer_girl_99 Classics?
The Black Arrow by Robert Louis Stevenson
Beric the Briton by G. A. Henty
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson☀ ☀ ☀ ENFP ☀ ☀ ☀
May 12, 2017 at 11:41 am #33099@dragon-snapper *breathes heavy sigh of relief* Oh good, I’m not the only one around here who’s read Treasure Island. 🙂
@that_writer_girl_99 You’re in good hands with these Classic nerds, but can I add one? Pwease? *bats eyelashes prettily* Jane Eyre. Slightly creepy, but still a good book. 😀INTJ ➸Your friendly neighborhood mastermind. ➸https://thesarcasticelf.wordpress.com/
May 12, 2017 at 11:44 am #33100Hmm…while we’re in this topic, I have a change of goals. Instead of trying to write the other novel that I’m working on right now, I have these.
1. Enter edits from hard copy of book into computer
2. Write the LKD☀ ☀ ☀ ENFP ☀ ☀ ☀
