So…I’m trying to figure something out. XD
So…when Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt, we know what happened, but I’m trying to figure out something about 1 brother in particular, bc, in Genesis 43, verse 24, it says: “…and he returned to them and spoke to them. And he took Simeon from them and bound him before their eyes.”
So…I’m trying to figure out exactly why Joseph will choose Simeon specifically, but what I’m thinking, and I need some thoughts, is that Simeon was one of the biggest instigators in trying to get Joseph killed and one of the ones who hated and envied Joseph the most.
Which, if you go back in Genesis, Simeon was shown to have a hot temper in chapter 34, him and Levi both.
So…I’m really thinking that may be why…but any thoughts? 😅

OOH OK!!! So I have a KJV apostolic Study Bible and in the end of the pages there are notes about verses!! And I was reading the notes on the Joseph the other day, and it spoke of that part, where the brothers come back, and Reuben is speaking “This is happening because you did not listen to me. I did not want to kill the lad, etc”
Josephs start weeping secretly, etc…
Well the note said that, it would’ve made the most sense to have kept Reuben, since he was the eldest, but after hearing Reuben, one of his brothers actually wasn’t going to kill or harm him, that’s what made Joseph start to cry, and is why he chose Simeon instead!
Of course this is just a commentary, but it was so interesting!!

OH PLEASE HAVE SOMETHING WITH THE RELATIONSHIP OF BENJAMIN AND JOSEPH!! Like Benjamin being really small when Joseph is gone? Idk, because ugh I love the part when it’s like “He yearned for him” speaking of when Joseph sees Benjamin again!
And then ubless in mistake that super fun scene where they don’t know it’s Joseph and he seats them according to age in in Egypt and feeds Benjamin like double the portions and they’re all like “How did we get seated according to age?!”

Yeah, I think you could do that, because he does seem to be one of the most envious and angry. Or maybe the brothers had a closer relationship with Simeon than with some of each other. But if he has a bad temper, then maybe not😂😅. I’m going to read that whole story in the Bible again, and then maybe I’ll be a little more helpful😂.

@lightoverdarkness6. Thanks for the thoughts, girl! I’m thinking he will be because he was the instigator, or just because he was the oldest other than Reuben, but we’ll see where it goes. Either way, I don’t think it would have been out of character for Simeon to be one of the chief instigators. 😅

That’s cool! I’ve wondered what it’s like to be the middle sibling before. As the oldest, it seems like everything evolves around the younger kids. But that’s to be expected I guess 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️. My littlest sibling is only one month old!! She was the surprise😂.

Yeah, pretty cool! Ah well, it depends. Personally, as the middle, you kinda feel like the one that’s supposed to hold your family together, but that may just be me. 😅
As the oldest, it seems like everything evolves around the younger kids. But that’s to be expected I guess 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️.
I’m sure it feels like that, heh. But as the middle it sometimes seems as though it revolves around the oldest, so I think it really depends on your Point of View. XD Either the oldest or the youngest, one or the other. xD

Really? Did you like the movie you saw? We used to only go on rainy days and when a good movie was out. Nowadays there’s not movies that you can watch without fast forwarding parts. We probably will never go again. I mean, why pay money to watch a movie and eat way to salty popcorn when you can just watch it at home when it comes on Prime Video or Netflix or something.
Yeah, in the Bible, there’s always something missing until you look closer. Good for you for paying attention😊!! You’ll be blessed by that. 🙂
