      Also, Peter and Gwen’s relationship is a lot more fun and believable. And I really like the lizard as a villain.

        @loopylin

        XD I watched the first two series + Spider-verse in a row, so… that’s probably partially unfair judgement on my part…

        I’m gonna try and make this as not rant-y as possible.

        Reasons for my dislike of the movie:

        – Peter was a jerk the majority of the first movie

        – Very, very few of his bad actions and attitudes were called out or had realistic consequences (except in the deaths of Uncle Ben and Gwen)

        – I’m not generally a fan of romance and this was not a movie that made me tolerate it

        – I thought this was going to be like Spider-man, but as a spy (however that was poor guessing on my part because of death of parents and the way they died, etc…because this is a trope used in most middle-grade spy fiction books that I’ve read XD)

        – Not many of the characters were developed, if any

        – Peter doesn’t keep his promise to Gwen’s dad (but I take promises very seriously so seeing him just throw that away was just AGH)

        – Eh, Gwen was okay, but I felt like outside of Peter she didn’t have a life, I guess? XD That sounds terrible, but it seemed like she just existed in the first movie to be hope for Peter and conflict between him and her dad…

        – I thought that at the end of the second movie Peter was gonna commit suicide (not being overly dramatic, that’s what I thought was going to happen)

        – He almost let a little kid fight instead of him

        – He doesn’t have anything to hope in

        – Aunt May was very confusing, did not understand him at all

        – THE ENTIRE OSBORNE FAMILY. JUST, WHAT???? Harry was obnoxious and made no sense (but I also really liked them and how they were done (mostly) in the first series, so…*shrugs*)

        – Electro didn’t really have a reason to hate Spider-man??? Unless I misunderstood

        – XD I have this problem with all the spider-man movies except for the third series, that’s not an outfit a teenager could make, because he wouldn’t have the money or the resources, sorry. XD

        – They killed off Gwen. That was the worst mistake they made for this Spider-man. It could’ve worked for other Spider-man’s but this guy has no one else to rely on, and she seemed like the only reason he was choosing to live in the first place.

        – God isn’t shown to even possibly exist in this movie series at all (have this problem in all of the series + spider-verse with the exception of the first series)

        Things about the movies that I liked:

        – XD The “I’m washing my American flag…” *dies laughing* Sir, you do not have any knowledge about flag etiquette, particularly for the American flag.

        – Electro’s special effects were really cool looking, and a great color

        – The lizard was interesting.

        – I liked the fact that someone has siblings in the movie. That was a nice change, actually. It seems in all the other movies that everyone in that world either has zero or only children. XD

        – The fact that they had parents in the movie, for the same reasons as siblings.

        And about Peter and Gwen’s relationship being more realistic, I think it depends on the person, scenario, etc. I didn’t MJ in the first movie, thought she was kind of obnoxious, but the rest of the characters made up for it. I liked her better in the second, and the third *doesn’t continue this because the third movie I really really liked and somewhat dislike at the same time XD*
        Then again, I really only know what realistic relationships are like for adults so…yeah.

          @gwyndalf-the-wise The idea of God either not existing or not being mentioned/cared about is the problem with all of the Marvel movies….so……

          I honestly always assume that’ll usually happen in movie series/TV shows/books/whatever made by a group of people who most likely weren’t Christians, and to tell you the truth, I’d rather not see God in a story universe than be confronted with a really bad portrayal of Him. That, to me, would be worse.

            @loopylin Yeah, Into the Spiderverse was very interesting. It was among the first Marvel-related movies I watched, and was pretty entertaining. The animation style was great–half modern 2d animated, half 3d animated. something like a comic book come to life. Pretty awesome!

              Yeah, I’d rather not have God misrepresented either.
              Interesting, I tend to assume that God does exist in the story even if they don’t mention Him. (Unless the story obvious contradicts that, or later contradicts it)

                Ok this sounds cool!!

                I’ve written a little fanfiction before, I was super embarrassed about it. It was a short manga fanfic, which is like embarrassment level 100 imo. Idk why, I don’t even know if It’s still on my laptop XD Idk if I can help much because I haven’t seen any spiderman stuff, but I hope it goes well for you, and the idea sounds great!

                  @gwyndalf-the-wise Whoops, did I say it like that? What I meant was that I don’t expect God to be portrayed correctly or at all in stories written by non-Christians. Not that I don’t assume He exists in those stories. Especially in my fanfictions, I provide evidence He exists but don’t really get into the details so that I’m not wrongly portraying anything.

                    @mineralizedwritings

                    XD some writing is embarrassment level 100 XD my first story with a character that I actually made was partially part of a Paw-Patrol fan-fiction that I included our family pet at the time into so….*cringes at the memory* Oh well at least that faze is over XD

                    So I don’t think I explained this right. XD What I meant by asking for help was about just random story questions, does this sound interesting, and like brainstorming events/characters etc. Like you would do with a regular story, right? You don’t have to know what/who Spider-man is to know how to help. =)

                    Glad you like the idea!

                    @keilah-h

                    Ohhhh
                    It’s possible I just misunderstood. Yeah, I don’t necessarily expect that either.
                    I think it’s interesting how people go about portraying God in fiction.
                    I’d like to portray Him more in my fantasy story but I don’t want to get Him wrong, either. I’ve been struggling with how to go about writing Him cause I need Him in the story, for several reasons. So after stressing about it for way too long, I’ve just decided that if He wants me to write about Him in the story that He’ll make me able to portray Him in a way that doesn’t lead others astray and that He’ll make it as accurate to Himself as humanly possible.

                      @gwydalf-the-wise That’s a good strategy. Trust God to write Himself, in a way. I’d do that with any real-life (currently living) character too. I’d ask them to help write their own lives rather than have me butcher it, lol…..

                        XD Yeah. I just kinda have to do that or I obsess over whether I’m doing everything right and that’s not a good thing.
