I got an estimated 21,900 words. To be honest, I thought I’d do quite well (I am a wordy person) 😛 but I was surprised how many words there were that I didn’t know! Anyways, that was an interesting test to take; thanks for sharing, Sierra 😀
Currently reading Les Miserables
January 30, 2017 at 9:24 pm #25197I got 24,400… sorta surprised. I thought I’d do better than that, but, I did get a higher score than @daeus, soooooo I guess I’ll be content with that. 😉 (…assuming you actually did get 21,400, which, frankly, I’m not buying it)
January 30, 2017 at 9:52 pm #25203@faithdk Quite an accomplishment. 😉 I congratulate you.

January 31, 2017 at 9:54 am #25211Glad you’re all having fun with this 🙂 *applauds @northerner respectfully*
My vocabulary’s apparently grown since I took this test last year and I now average at around 29,000.
January 31, 2017 at 10:15 am #25212For those of you surprised they didn’t do better, thought I’d point out that this test is a knowledge quotient test, not necessarily a judge of how deep your vocabulary is. Most of the words on that list I could have figured out just by dissecting their roots, but as I was supposed to click the ones I knew I let them lie. Also, though this probably goes without saying, most of those words are really old English words and pretty much nobody uses them today. So to me it seems that this test is more testing the range of your vocabulary than the size or depth.
So yeah. Just thought I’d point that out.
*swirls cape, disappears in a poof of smoke*January 31, 2017 at 11:50 am #25214@kate-flournoy I took a look at the list of the hardest words on the test (http://testyourvocab.com/hard), and apparently they only occur in English less than 3 times per hundred million words. So you’re absolutely right, no one should be taking this too seriously.
January 31, 2017 at 12:13 pm #25216@sierra-r I took a look at that list. I was surprised to find that tricorn was on it.
Woah! Even more interestingly, there’s that annoying red squiggly line beneath it that says it’s misspelled.☀ ☀ ☀ ENFP ☀ ☀ ☀
January 31, 2017 at 12:17 pm #25217I got 23,100. I’m sort of surprised, but yeah, they were more uncommon words. I’m going to go back and memorize them all now 😛
January 31, 2017 at 12:27 pm #25219I took it yet again, after I memorized all the words I missed and now I must be smarter or something, because I got estimated 39,100. 😛

January 31, 2017 at 12:29 pm #25220And also your intelligence is not judged the range of your vocabulary. 😉
January 31, 2017 at 1:26 pm #25223by the range of your vocabulary.
