This is an idea I got from SE, a topic that was created a long time ago and never caught on really. Maybe it can thrive on KP.
The basic idea is someone writes a prompt, and sets a word limit (minimum of 500 words for the word limit, maximum… Haven’t decided.) And people can write a short story to the word limit based on the prompt, then post it here. The participants then choose one to three judges (none can be one of them) and the judges decide which story they like best to go with the prompt.
Rules:
- No more than five participants on one prompt, since that would just not work.
- Judges must not have bias. (I am allowing sibling judges, since I know from personal expierance that siblings usually nail you more than everyone else XD. But if you want to, you guys can say no to sibling judges)
- No reading other peoples entries. To avoid this, please say in bold or in caps (both would be fine) at the top that this is your entry and drop down a couple lines.
- You can jump in a prompt if only one or two stories are posted for that prompt, but not if all stories are posted.
- Stories can be in any person unless otherwise stated in prompt
- Stories can be of any genre unless otherwise stated in prompt.
- Follow KP guidelines as always
- Enjoy

I assume this is to prevent copying? What you could do is just tell people not to post their story until the last day. That leads to another question: how long would the participants have?

Participants may choose how long they have. I don’t want to mandate that since I doubt most people will need like four days for a 500 word story, and most people would need more than a day to write a story of longer portion.
It also leaves it open for a prompt to challenge people to get a story done faster.
