I think this is my latest reply on record. 😬 Sorry. I have excuses, but let’s not make this reply any more delayed.
To the reply…
G. K. Chesterton’s essays are pretty good, and I’d definitely recommend them. You know his style if writing from The Man Who Was Thursday (our father read part of that to my siblings and I years ago. I think Chesterton’s voice was pretty prominent.), so you know his sense of humor. It’s all over them.
Oooo, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes are both awesome. I’m actually memorizing parts of both for Bible Quizzing this year, so I’m excited about that.
Leviticus and Deuteronomy we’re both partly responsible for trapping me in the Old Testament when I was trying to read through my Bible when I was younger (like 9 years old.). Now though, I like them. The Mosaic Law is fascinating, and there are so many shadow-types hidden in the mix.
I don’t like Job. Not because it is sad, 2 King’s is more tragic to me, but because it is confusing. So much of it sounds right, but it’s implied that much of it isn’t. Plus those guys got really long-winded, like preacher’s never go overtime in comparison. XD
Still, there are some fun mentions of astounding creatures, unshakable truths, and stories, so it’s not too hard.
Just not a favorite.
Of course you don’t have to choose just one. There are quite a few weapons that I’d love to learn. And archery is fun; I’d definitely like to learn that.
By the way, it’s legal to open-carry sword and stuff in Texas if you’re over a certain age. Of course nobody does, but still…
Xenel sounds like a wonderfully quirky-yet-relateable character. Definitely favorite character material.
Welcome, and have a wonderful day too!
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
