@skredder Ooh, I know! It’s from A Wrinkle in Time, right?
Here’s mine:
”Plots behind plots, plans behind plans. There’s always another secret.”
A Kapeefer for life!
Compendium of KP Literature: kapeeferliterature.wordpress.comMarch 29, 2018 at 4:42 pm #69357@supermonkey42 Yes! You would be correct! It took me a while to figure out which quote I wanted to use from it. That one seemed the least obscure.
I have no idea what yours is from.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
March 30, 2018 at 6:03 pm #69595@skredder OHH! Of course it’s from Wrinkle in Time. Arrrgh…
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 30, 2018 at 6:23 pm #69596@dekreel I was sure you’d be able to guess at least one of my prompts! They’re both from a certain franchise… 😀 And if you haven’t seen those, you ought to see them right away! 😉
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 12:25 am #69639@rochellaine I have no clue. Sorry!!!
Is the cat Gracie? Are the quotes from All Creatures Great and Small??
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 31, 2018 at 12:41 am #69643@dekreel Haha, no. 🙂 They’re both from Star Trek, TOS, albeit one is from a movie rather than the series. Ah yes, now I remember you said you hadn’t seen the TOS movies! That’s why you couldn’t guess the second one. Of the movies I’ve only seen The Voyage Home so far.
The cat quote is from the episode Assignment: Earth.
The Gracie quote is from The Voyage Home movie which if you haven’t seen – you should. With an editor, probably, since it’s from the eighties and there is cursing. But it’s really good, with Kirk and Spock and so on. 😀
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 12:48 am #69644@rochellaine Ahh, I haven’t seen ALL the Star Trek episodes. Also I’ve seen both Wrath of Khan and bits and pieces of Into Darkness.
Let’s see… Try this one:
“Forgive me if I boast…”

March 31, 2018 at 1:22 am #69649@dekreel Hm, that’s cool, but I thought you had said you hadn’t seen the movies when I mentioned Kirk having curly hair? 😀 I guess I misunderstood you. 😉
Okay, I tried to figure out your quote, but can’t think of a specific instance. I’m assuming that’s from Star Trek too? Because I really haven’t seen any modern movies except E.T. 🙂
The phrase “Forgive me if I boast” is a very common one, though, in a few different forms, so it might help if you give a little more context.
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 1:28 am #69650@rochellaine Curly hair?? Hmm, I don’t remember that conversation. Well, I’ve seen a couple. But it’s been awhile…
If I give more context then I think it will be too easy. Okayyy…
“As a teacher I’ve been learning… And forgive me if I boast…”
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 31, 2018 at 1:42 am #69651@dekreel Sorry…still no idea. 🙁 I’ve not seen all the TOS episodes either, though, so I might just not have seen whatever you’re quoting from. And if I have, please forgive me, since apparently I’m horrible at this game. 😛
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 1:44 am #69652@rochellaine Hint, it’s not Star Trek. It’s a musical. 😉
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 31, 2018 at 1:51 am #69653@dekreel Oh, haha! But a modern musical? Because I haven’t seen any modern musicals at all. Oh, could it be from The King and I? The main character in that one is a teacher. Maybe from the verse of Whistle a Happy Tune? (I’ve never seen The King and I) Or…from Getting to Know You!
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 1:59 am #69654@rochellaine DING DING DING! The King and I, from the song Getting to Know You. Well done! Sorry, I thought you had watched it. o.o
You can pronounce it however you want.
March 31, 2018 at 2:06 am #69655@dekreel I read the synopsis and decided I didn’t want to watch a movie about a Christian English widow falling in love with a heathen polygamist. 😀
Actually, I really should have been able to guess that since I have listened to that song many times over, but I usually listen to covers rather than Deborah Kerr’s version, and the covers don’t include the verse. I’ve showed the YouTube clip of the Getting to Know You scene to my five-year-old sister and she loves it. 🙂 So don’t feel bad, because I have actually seen that part, just not the full movie.
As long as we’re doing musicals, here’s a quote for you that gets repeated in my house pretty often:
1st: “What, don’t you trust me?”
2nd: “No.”
1st: “Smart girl.”And if you can’t get that, here’s a Star Trek one:
“Death, disease, destruction, horror. That’s what war is, Councilman – That’s what makes it a thing to be avoided.” Ohh, I think I made that too easy! It’s one of the famous ones.
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
March 31, 2018 at 9:07 pm #69710@rochellaine Well, I have no idea what the second one is. The first one sounds vaguely familiar… *bangs head against wall trying to remember*
You can pronounce it however you want.
