@whalekeeper Whoa, that’s weird! I looked it up. Little skulls all hanging from the plant…creepy, but also really cool.
Skull flowers sound like something from the Nether dimension in Minecraft……but they’re real, and that’s crazy.

This character is inspired by the renaissance – and things like those skulls, where they’re beautiful, but also quirky and a little unnerving.
I was just playing Minecraft a little bit ago… I’m a beginner, so I’ve just got my little garden and stuff, but lately I’ve just been jumping into crazy deep caverns for the fun of it. I’ll be like, “hey, siblings, watch me jump into this hole, where I’ll probably die!” XD

Update:
As some of y’all know, on Saturday, was it? I created 32 characters, all lords or ladies of my story’s parliament (for lack of a better word). I gave them all names, and basic personalities with some backstory ideas. In addition, I invented a possible lordling to take over after one lord’s death, who would be a major character.
Today… I am starting on the individual lords’ desires, moral orientations, strengths and weaknesses.
…I’ve only done a couple, and those, plus the list of characters, are five pages long.
*Bangs head on the keyboard*
I am simultaneously overwhelmed and excited. This may seem like a lot of stuff, but I have a feeling it will make my writing way more confident – plus, this way I have potential villains and drama within the system! I won’t have to make up dignitaries on the fly, then contradict myself later.
And I actually feel passionate about every one of these characters.
So… ya know… writer stuff…

It is, but honestly I only invented names and a bit of story. It was like going AI generator mode. I really enjoyed it XD

Okay well keep in mind, most of these are real names. And some of these are placeholders, and are not going to make the final cut. I just want a vague idea of what I want the names to sound like.
And by the way, there are a lot of names that start with M and C. That is significant to the story. I did not realize I had been choosing those names until the end, then realized it was perfect foreshadowing XD

…Alright… but it’s mine… *grumbles for a few seconds like the selfish Gollum I am* XDXD You should research medicine herbs, some of them can be super cool and creepy! Especially if you have a story inspired by early American settlers or something. I’ve always wanted to do a story inspired by Roanoke colony… which our family might visit eventually! We live not too far away (at least relative to the Grand Canyon XD).

@whalekeeper noice!!! Yea I like doing that because I worry about black magic and such, so my magic system is “It all comes from God” just like in our own world, but evil was created when man sinned, ya know?
So like herbal magic/remedies still comes from God because he makes the herbs and such!
