I know that @daeus has done this before, but I thought we might like to do it again. I started writing a poem myself but got stuck. So I thought I’d turn to you guys for help. I’ll give you what I got to but feel free to destroy it. It’s not very good at the moment. Well see what you can come up with.
I typed into Google
‘Christian writing teens’
And up popped a site
That look just right for me.I click on the link
And had a look around
I checked out the forum
And liked what I foundI signed up straight a way
And became a member of KP

Oh what fun it’s going to beMay 4, 2016 at 5:23 pm #12510Okay let me tag a few people to get this going. Let’s see who’s good at poetry. @overcomer and @daeus I know you two for definite. C’mon people.
May 4, 2016 at 5:52 pm #12511*clicks on link* *reads* *expresses horror* *acts real quiet in hopes no one will see notice my presence* *gives up and comments out of sheer habit* 😉 Heeeeyy @bluejay … 🙂
May 4, 2016 at 6:03 pm #12513What exactly is it you’re looking for @bluejay? If you want to bring this thing to perfection, it’s gonna take a lot of work. First of all, there’s not much form to it – just two sets of rhyme and no real meter to speak of.
You can do free verse that doesn’t have these, but then you’ve gotta really use some juicy words in your poem and jam pack it with similes, metaphors, and unexpected twists and things.

May 4, 2016 at 6:34 pm #12517I have to agree with Daeus, @bluejay. I definitely like the topic for the poem ( 😉 ) but it’s sort of just…words. The very first thing I noticed, though, it that you switch back and forth between past and present tense. Decide which one to use and keep it throughout the whole thing. That may help you with meter a bit. (Hope this all makes sense. I’m seriously NOT trying to be mean! 🙂 )

May 4, 2016 at 6:41 pm #12518May 4, 2016 at 7:26 pm #12522That’s great. I agree with you all. So let me put it this way. Here is a topic “Kingdom Pen” Let’s write a poem together. Someone else start as I’m terrible. Write what you can and someone else will join their verses on… and so on. Does that make sense.
@gretald @ingrid @overcomer @daeus (I do agree that the poem was pretty terrible. 😛 )May 4, 2016 at 7:26 pm #12523May 5, 2016 at 9:58 am #12527Terrible isn’t the right word, @bluejay…any opportunity to learn, maybe. 😉 That’s a great idea!

May 5, 2016 at 7:52 pm #12533The first two stanzas are great, but the second one needs a little tweaking. I’ll probably be back sometime tonight. Gotta do some writing.
