That could work, but I’d still like to put a cap on joining. Like no one older that 25 or 30 can join.
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn't hear the music
November 10, 2025 at 4:50 pm #208326Yes, I agree on the age cap for joining. The mentorship idea relies on having someone who is already a contributor to the community. Joining later would not work, safety concerns aside.

November 11, 2025 at 10:08 am #208327Hey. Just popping in briefly to say I saw the video.
I’m not going to leave KP either, I’ll follow where everyone else goes whatever we decide to do.
A lot of things are changing in my life right now so I probably won’t be too active here, and I don’t know how much I can help with the new site if we go through with that. I might try to help if I find the motivation… because I do want to help somehow… but I don’t know. I need to do a lot of thinking… I don’t know really what to think about everything right now.
?
…felt bad not saying anything for a whole, like what, week.

November 11, 2025 at 12:22 pm #208328Watching the presentation finally! I just paused it after you finished the prototype tour.
I like it so far. The projects and the construction of the forum comments look well thought out and quite convenient to use. I’ve got two thoughts/suggestions.
1. We’ve done role-plays in the General Writing section, but I think it would be great to have a separate section for them. It would be easier to keep up with them if they aren’t buried, at the same time dividing them from more “discussion” topics. They really are a separate concept.
2. I noticed a typo while you were previewing your sister’s profile. Her recent projects were titled “Resent” instead. I understand some good writing comes out of hard times, but I hope her books aren’t actually resenting anything. 😉
Overall, I like it a lot. Now to finish the video!

November 11, 2025 at 1:14 pm #208329Ok.
We recently set up a website for our church. I was not much involved in it, but my sister has been intending to get me as a moderator/updater. So, I have zero web design experience, but don’t mind learning how to help moderate/test for bugs. I can also make mood boards and brainstorm writing/name concepts. (I vote we go with something royal or tower-like as a nod to KP, and maybe have a dragon or owl mascot, also as a KeePer joke. We are Story… Keepers? I know that’s used in a children’s show from my childhood, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else. Or, since Kingdom Pen is a Biblical reference, we could find a similar concept from Scripture. Writing Wardens, serving the Greatest Author.)
Also, while I can’t pay a lot, I don’t mind paying a small monthly or annual fee. If just few of us give $2-$5 a month, we’d have enough to cover costs. If all of us gave less, we’d probably end up with more than enough. However, we’d need to organize a way to pool funds, ei. who and how to pay. Is CashApp a thing in Canada? XD

November 11, 2025 at 5:31 pm #208330No worries. Not everyone needs to be a moderator. If testing is the only area you are confident in helping out it, then that is okay.

November 11, 2025 at 6:09 pm #208331@whalekeeper (I’ll see you’ve been saying a couple of things I will be saying in here already, but I’ll make this reply longer and more detailed for anyone else who has similar concerns.)
How do we want to treat this website in relationship to the original KP community?
To be honest, probably because I am a relatively newer member and not as involved as other people, I don’t have the same sentimental attachment to Kingdom Pen as some of you may. It’s been buggy for me since day 1, and those bugs have always nagged me. (I joined in the middle of a whoy attack.) So for me, it’s a little harder to see leaving Kingdom Pen as a problem since the moderators have left it.
But I do get what you are saying. You are right. It wouldn’t be fair for a bunch of us to leave Kingdom Pen, leaving several confused members. No matter how much we try to explain, there is going to be someone. The only hope we have to prevent this split is if the moderators contact us and get this site going again.
I cannot make a second Kingdom Pen. As hard as I try, this new website will be different. The community will have a different feel. It is inevitably going to end up being different. I can’t stop this.
@loopylin has a good point. What about the new members? It also isn’t fair to them if we are only loyal to Kingdom Pen. We can’t view what is a place for them to share their writing as just a backup plan, because it is not one for them. It is all they have. And if we are stuck on Kingdom Pen, they are going to be discouraged in their writing. It’s like if you were a kid, excited to go to a new playground, but when you got there, you discovered that the playground had replaced a different one. Instead of doing things with you and using the playground, the other kids just sat around, talking about how great the old playground had been. One you never got to see. So, for the sake of people who will be joining, don’t view the new site as simply a backup. With that said, I am going to try to preserve what we have got. I hope we can let as many members of Kingdom Pen know what is going on as possible, and make the transition smooth. Instead of people saying “new site is up, bye-bye Kingdom Pen!” I hope we can achieve something more gradual. We can have an account on both sites at once. If people who have missed this are wondering why Kingdom Pen isn’t as active as it used to be, then there will still be some of us there to explain what is going on. And the new members on the new site will have us to guide them and get things started up instead of figuring out everything on their own.
If you want to stay on Kingdom Pen until it fails, that’s fine. Do that. I’m not going to just pack my bags and leave either. But I hope you can also join and contribute to the new site at the same time.

Have any of you used Notion? It’s a note-taking software I have been using a lot recently. It is very flexible and can be used for planning. I’m thinking we could use that as a place to plan this website, as it would allow me to assign you tasks. I can also link up some other sites to it, such as Figma (the site I created the prototype on). How would you feel about this?
You can check it out here: https://www.notion.com/
Note: They are advertising their AI features quite a lot right now, but I just have the free version, and don’t use the AI at all. You just need the free version as well. It is still very capable.

We absolutely could have a section dedicated just to role-playing!And nope, that’s just a typo. I don’t resent my sister’s writing. I have found her books enjoyable and even entertaining. Go check them out!
I’ve read your other posts on here, and you have a few good ideas. I like your ideas for the site name and mentors. I haven’t heard of CashApp before, but that could be handy.
Another thing I was thinking about for payment. Kingdom Pen has a shop with merch that supports it. What if we had something like that? Or what if, when you purchase a book through an affiliate link on the new site, some money went to support it? (If members were fine with that)
I wonder if we could give anyone who comes from Kingdom Pen something special, like a profile badge or something, when they join the new site.

November 11, 2025 at 6:54 pm #208334How do we want to treat this website in relationship to the original KP community?
Everything you said in response to this was really well put, thank you. I feel resolved about the subject now, I think. I plan on being active on both websites anyway.

Just downloaded it and it seems like a helpful app. I’m assuming you can collaborate on it?
Also, life update. I finally got a job that starts in December, so I should be able to spend more time and energy on the new website and possibly help a little with money. I was a little iffy about being a moderator at first, but now that that part of my life is secure I feel more confident that I can help out. I use CashApp too, like Elishavet mentioned. If that doesn’t work in other countries though, I don’t mind trying something else out.

Yes, we can collaborate, so I think it will be quite convenient for us.
I will need to add your email to the workspace to invite you. Could you open up this document and request access with the same Email address you used to sign up for Notion? I have made it private, so not just anyone can open this up. Shoot me a message on Kingdom Pen at the same time with some sort of clue so that I know it is you requesting access.
(@elishavet-pidyon, I will need you to do the same once you have Notion. @ellette-giselle, if you use your proton address, then I won’t need you to do this step.)

November 12, 2025 at 10:48 am #208337Sorry, I forgot to reply to this yesterday.
*sigh* I’ve done everything I can to make that work. I have a SEO spreadsheet of things to do open and have done everything save the social media tagging, and so far it’s not gone anywhere. Not sure what I can do to make it work better.
Hmm. I would have to see it to know what the problem could be.
There should be a note saying to contact us for shipping outside of the US. We have shipped to the UK before. It’s just different as I have yet to figure out all the in and outs of price for shipping so far away. So yeah, if you are interested in anything, go ahead and contact us, but at the moment we don’t have set shipping for those places and can’t afford to do it for free.
Okay! I see you added Canada and the UK to your shipping list. It would be useful to users if it said something like ‘for shipping in any region we don’t have listed, please contact us’ directly under the dropdown select for country. I don’t see this anywhere in the checkout, and some users are going to be confused and give up.
I don’t think you have a book right now that I would be interested in buying. But let me know as more books get added. I will definitely consider purchasing your books on Aaron and Joseph once you get those published.

wait what? I didn’t add those……. odd.

I would, but I can’t figure out how!
And yes, I should be using my proton address.

Intreating.

All right. Let me know when you have Notion set up, and I will add you in.
