I also wrote this blurb for the first book:
Twenty years ago, the ancient kingdom of Arvendor was ravaged by Argaroth the Dragon Lord and his dark hosts. In the final battle, Arvendor was shattered, and its king killed, but Argaroth was destroyed.
That at least is the legend that is told.
Nearly two decades later, the world has settled into relative stability following a series of bloody civil wars. But the threat of disaster rises again, when the lost heir of Arvendor emerges from hiding, warning of the return of the Dragon Lord.
The fate of Adonial rests on a brash young man, a broken warrior, a fledgling sorceress, and an order of legendary knights. Will they unite the world against the rising shadows? Or will they break in the coming storm?

📚 Appreciator of BooksI’m usually the opposite, I get so excited about writing the first chapter that I write a couple pages, then start worldbuilding for real, and then I write a blurb. Though I haven’t done a lot of that, either. (Unfortunately, I write way more than I plan sometimes.) I usually find myself with a lot of chapters that don’t make much sense in relation to each other. hehe. then I delete them and lose a couple thousand words and a large chunk of my pride XD
That’s why I am trying to teach myself how to outline/plot to some extent.

While it may not produce entirely cohesive stories, it does give you practice writing, which is one of the most important things. On the other hand, I, having spent so much time planning and so little time writing, don’t have much practice writing, which means that once I am done planning and get around to writing, I’m going to be writing badly.

I used to do that too. This project has gone through several (probably around 5 or so) drafts that have been drastically different. The writing wasn’t very good, but more importantly, I decided that I had no idea where I was going with this story, so I needed to figure that out before I could start writing it. At this point it’s probably been months since I actually wrote any actual narrative.

Months without writing? I’ve been writing like….a LOT….my family thinks I’m mentally insane, as do my classmates, because of how much I write and am on KP lol. It’s hard to imagine not writing XD I just hit 20K! (1,000 more than I had last week, lol) My class thinks I’m weird because I’ll randomly smile and yell “I got —- thousand words!” I yell a different number of thousands almost every day. (well not yell, but you get it, haha)
Sorry if it seems like I’m just ranting about my accomplishments, lol.
And to think, two years ago, in seventh grade, when I was young and foolish, only twelve, I said I was not a writer, had given it up and moved on.
We all know how that turned out.

I’ve been writing like….a LOT
I would probably spend large portions of my day writing if I could, but I have a super busy school year, which means I am basically working on school from 8am to 4-5pm. I pretty much do all my writing Saturday mornings, and work on it from like 7 to 10. That would probably be my schedule everyday if I could lol.

📚 Appreciator of BooksYeah, I get it, school can be really busy! Though, when I homeschooled, I didn’t usually have that long of a day.
Now, with public school and volleyball, I go to school from 8 until 3:45, have practice from 4 until 5:30, then come home. My little sister does gymnastics, and my little brother does taekwondo in the afternoons (both still do homeschool), so they don’t get home until 7:30 to 8! I’m home alone for a good portion of the day, since my dad is out farming. That’s normally when I write, though I do write during class when I get all my work done.
It’s weird being gone more than you’re home, lol. You’re lucky to be homeschooled!
