@rochellaine I think that counts too. At least for my research and questions. 😀 Thank you.
@sleepwalkingmk *facepalm* I completely forgot that she needs to go to school. But she will be homeschooled. How did I overlook that?
@sarah-anson Sadly Vanessa will still have to be school while they are there.
I’m a perfect angel.
Wow, that could be really flat… Flatter than paper. 😛
I shall try to avoid that.
@alia I hate it when it does that. But for next time if it does that, hit the back page button and you may be able to see what you wrote as before you posted it. That might work… If that’s the last thing you did on that page.

To answer your questions…
The family has lived their life in the US, but at the beginning of the book they fly to the island. So they are the ages that I said earlier.
Yes, they are going to minister to the natives. that is why they are there.
They natives that they land near that take them in think they are the legendary Firepeople. Their plane crashes and when the native sees it he thinks it’s a Firebird. So they basically think of them like minor gods and treat them pretty well. Until the missionaries can clear that up. Then the natives want to kill them. 😀 Lots of ‘fun’ misunderstandings. “So you aren’t the Firepeople? You killed the Firebird then! Get them!”
There is absolutely no mail service what so ever. The natives don’t even know what a light bulb is. They are very amazed by the Firepeople’s ability to create light without consuming their torch or catching things on fire. Aka the flashlight. They do speak different languages, but I’m not going to get into the translating. The story’s POV is going to be mostly from Thapis one of the natives who is in their military, and then some from Vanessa. Only two POVs! *cough* Originally it was VERY different. :3
I do think Vanessa would have trouble fitting in, while Mark does just fine. Also the native’s education will probably only go til they’re about 12. Vanessa might feel a bit stuck being the only person her age doing school. 😛
She wanted to go to the island, but the transition will still be weird for her. Sometimes she wishes she had never come. Ups and downs.
I invented the island. *grin* *nervous laughter*
The missionaries need to figure out what’s going on and then they need the natives to listen to them and not throw them in the volcano. *nods*Thank you all so much, this is very helpful.
IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
