@anyone
Is anyone planning on the 50,000 words challenge this November?
He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.
October 1, 2023 at 3:29 pm #157612Oooh, I wasn’t, but it sounds really cool… I don’t know if I’ll have enough time, though. Maybe I’ll try to finish my novel by the end of that month?
What about you?
Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. ~ C.S. Lewis
October 1, 2023 at 3:38 pm #157616I’m not sure, the largest continuous story I’ve written so far is hardly a tenth of that, and I’ve been perfecting for a long time. It’s a challenge that is way too unrealistic with my current portfolio, but I think I’ll at least try, perhaps the due date will force me to produce more, it’s happened before. Either way, it sounds like a fun challenge, and who knows, even if I fail, I might have a new story in my hands.

October 1, 2023 at 3:40 pm #157617I’m hoping to get a lot done during NaNoWriMo! I can’t say I will… because life. BUT I’m definitely better equipped to do so.
Since I’m more focused on my art right now, I might try to create a mashup of art and writing goals. Like, 30k words and a bunch of drawings (how do you measure drawings?).

October 1, 2023 at 8:29 pm #157639I guess you can only measure them as well as you can measure words. A picture is worth a thousand words? But how many pictures are needed to convey the Gettysburg address? The quality of a sentence is what really matters, rather than the quantity of words, just as the quality of an image is what matters rather than the number of images. So by measuring by the number of pictures is probably equally meaningful to the number of words.

I’m doing it but I’ll most likely need help worldbuilding. I’ve got some story ideas I’m fleshing out during this month (pretober). Can you help me worldbuild?

Also, I know almost nothing about languages and would like to start doing conlang, so if you could help me, I’d appreciate it.
