I’ve watched scads of old TV shows. You name it, I’ve probably seen it.
Is that a challenge? 🙂
How about my personal favorites, the several anthology shows, including but not limited to, General Electric Theater (Ronald Reagan), Four Star Playhouse, Studio One, and The June Allyson Show?
Then for actual series, have you seen It Takes a Thief with the wonderful Robert Wagner and the amazing Fred Astaire, Cheyenne, starring Clint Walker, or The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show?
Do you have any old shows to recommend?

January 6, 2018 at 1:45 pm #59153Oops, looks like my attempt at quoting didn’t work. 🙁
How does it work, for future reference?

January 6, 2018 at 7:46 pm #59191@rochellaine Welcome to the KP forum! I like singing too (*whispers behind hand* not usually around people though) and I play piano and guitar so music feels part of me. Hope you have fun here, I sure do! 😉

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 6, 2018 at 8:18 pm #59205Hi @jenwriter17
Thanks for the welcome! 🙂
I play the piano and the harp. (Does the harp match the guitar? They both have strings…)

January 6, 2018 at 8:55 pm #59213@rochellaine XD I don’t dare tell Stan that he’s sweet. He would be so offended. It’s kind of true, though
😀 I see your point. History is extremely expansive and even more so if you’re interested in the little facts, which is quite interesting. Those facts are really interesting! XD Wow. That must have been kind of terrible taking your socks off, then. Like pulling tape off your skin. Or maybe not. I’ve never put nail polish on my legs before. XD And that’s also interesting because it tells me that they didn’t have nice stretchy, artificial fabric back then to make socks that actually clung to you and didn’t fall down. Which makes sense, but I wouldn’t have thought of that.
Ginger Rogers XD. Wasn’t she the one who said about her famous dancing “I did everything he (her partner) did, backwards and in high heels” or something similar?

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.January 6, 2018 at 9:23 pm #59221@rochellaine I’ve only seen a harp a couple times (my friend has one), it looks hard but sounds so beautiful. I’m not sure how it compares to the guitar. What size harp do you have?
Do you have favorite piano composers/song writers? I absolutely LOVE Helen Jane Long’s music and Ludovico Einaudi’s too. Brian Crane is good too.

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 6, 2018 at 9:29 pm #59224oh, how is Mayberry RFD?! I love the Andy Griffith show so much that I’m afraid I won’t like Mayberry RFD. Is it good? I actually don’t really like Helen Crump very much and my brother told me she and Andy got married. Ugh. I’ve been wanting to try Gomer USMC too.
OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE BARNEY TOO! ahem…..anyway, I think he and Andy balance each other well because of their opposite personalities. It makes each of them stand out uniquely.

www.jennaterese.comJanuary 7, 2018 at 12:41 pm #59262@rochellaine Hmmm….it looks like I don’t know as many old shows as I thought. 😅I have seen Cheyenne though. My recommendations would be:
The Virginian
The Big Valley
The Rifleman
Wagon Train
Checkmate
Hazel
Ozzie and Harriet
My Three Sons
Leave it to Beaver
Sea Hunt
Loner
The Donna Reed Show
The Loretta Young Show
Family Affair
Daniel Boone
Father Knows Best
LaramieSorry for the unending list (I have an obsession with old shows). Have you seen any of those? 🙂

January 7, 2018 at 12:46 pm #59264@jenwriter17 Mayberry RFD is pretty good—it’s a little more serious and down-to-earth than The Andy Griffith Show. It’s about a widowed farmer and his son. It has some of the original cast like Goober and Emmet and Andy appears occasionally too. Unfortunately, it only ran about 3 seasons and currently only the first season is available on DVD.

@rochellaine, welcome!!!
I live to sing and play the piano too!!! And the harp sounds soooooo beautiful!!!!! If I could pick a second instrument though, it would be a cello… they just sound so majestic and royal and epic! I’m hoping for one for my birthday (which is sadly still 9 months away).
By the way, do you find 50s dresses as gorgeous as me? I sometimes think I was born in the wrong time period. 😛
