I have to write a poem for class; I didn’t spend a lot of time on this but I want to make sure it makes some sense in translation. If anyone has experience with Latin, does this read well enough? Any grammar corrections?
…
Spiritūs est videre difficilis;
Non iram cresce ad eōs.
Ventus ramos revelat.
…
(English)
Breaths are hard to see;
Do not grow anger with them.
Wind reveals branches.

I’m a bit rusty, but the first line, since breaths is plural, should be “Spiritūs sunt videre difficilis”
I’m not sure about the second line because the vocabulary is unfamiliar, but it seems off. Just make sure the verb is in the imperative case. I can’t tell if it is or not.
Also, I think “ramos” needs to be “ramōs”.
Really pretty poem, though. I love it. ❤️ Writing poems in Latin seems fun

Dang, I miss taking Latin now
Just curious, what curriculum are you taking? Do you use the Familia Romana book?

All corrections noted, thank yooouuu. The second line does look weird; that should be the imperative form but the rest of the sentence still feels clunky. I will bring it up in class.

I do! My co-op uses Henle, but I couldn’t learn anything from it. Really dense and grammar focused. My parents wanted me to participate in the class well, so they gave me Familia Romana and I’ve learned more in two months than I ever knew in four years.

@whalekeeper Yesss that book is the best. It’s designed so you can learn it by yourself without a teacher. I should probably pick it up again even though I’m not in school.
