Every time Gabriel starts hating on someone who could even possibly dislike Lucy, let alone attack her, I just start cackling. ?? Actually I cackle at everything.
Also Gabriel has a really loud inner world, lots of rushing thoughts, and I like how consistently pushy his thoughts are.

Probably the result of four people writing instead of two. Either we’re not writing at all or piling on top of each other.

The small creature said he could help, but there was somethin’ malicious in those shiny little eyes of his. The girl asked him whether he’d been stalkin’; his answer was strange and cryptic, somethin’ to do with a spell.
Soldier lunged at him, his instincts havin’ taken over. Fortunately for the little bugger, he was fast enough to avoid the twenty slicing claws pointed at him and zipped away, leaving Solly to slam his head into the wall.
Our new friend also struck out at the…thing, although he, too, missed his target. “Explain what you mean by ‘spell,’ goblin!” he demanded.
I picked up my rifle and checked if it was loaded. That creature was fast, but he might not be outrun-a-bullet-fast.

The little man cackled, dancing out of the way of the various weapons and claws drawn for him. “Ehehehehe, I’ll trade ya! I heal the changeling, and give you a bit of information, and in exchange you give me something valuable.” His eyes lingered on Sniper’s gun, and then on the Protector’s mask.

Gabriel watched the rascal’s gaze. “Are you implying you want my mask and his…item?” Gabriel didn’t know what to call it. The voices got louder, making Gabriel tremble slightly as the volume got loud enough he was fearful that they’d screech at him again. “And how much information would you give?”

Side note: Rall confuses sentimental/ personal value with objective value, so that’s why he’s always going after objects that people seem to care the most about. But he also just likes shiny things.

@whalekeeper I have no idea, tbh. She just got knocked out by slamming into a wall. Probably pretty bad, but between the fact that these characters survive crazier stuff (like the aforementioned incident of Soldier accidentally drinking lead lol) and just the fact that I didn’t wanna do 4 hours of research on what could kill you and what won’t just for a line in a roleplay, I decided to just leave it ambiguous."When in doubt, eat cheese crackers."-me to my charries who don't even know about cheese crackers

At the word “valuable” his eyes went to my rifle.
I growled.
If I gave it up, I’d lose my only long-range weapon…..
…but if I didn’t, what would happen to Huntress?
The other man argued with the little beast. He didn’t seem to have anything of real worth on him. That mask was nice to look at, but if he was anythin’ like the people I knew who wore masks, he wasn’t gonna just take it off.
I unloaded the gun and set it down. “Fine. Take it. But I’m not givin’ ya any bullets.”
I doubted he’d know what to do with it anyway–he seemed to be looking at it as if it were some kinda treasure, and didn’t appear to have knowledge of how to use it. But I wasn’t takin’ any chances.

Gabriel watched as the half-reptile set down the strange thing he had been carrying. Gabriel reached into one of his pockets, pulling out one of the vials that had been in his pocket when he was transported here. The vial glittered even in the fog, the liquid inside the color of a buttercup petal.
“The vial is made of crystal, the liquid is an antidote for the poison of the direwolves around my home.” He walked over and set it down by the other item. But before the imp took them, Gabriel drew his blades, standing over the items. “Heal their companion first before you take them.”
He didn’t seem to have anything of real worth on him.
Gabriel would be offended.

Kp has not been giving me email notifications all day, and then it just now decided to give them all to me all at once so I opened my phone and found 22 new emails from kingdom pen lol

Rallascant frowned, feeling offended. “I always uphold my end of a deal, Protector. It’s in a faerie’s nature.”
He tapped his foot on the ground, and a tunnel opened up under the items, swallowing them both before closing again. Then he trotted over to the unconscious woman and leaned over her. He squinted at her as if trying to figure out what was wrong, before flicking her, hard, in the forehead. Her eyes snapped open and she sat up with a gasp.
“There! All healed.” Rallascant turned as if to leave.
The masked man stepped in his way. He looked ready to slice the little imp in two.
“You promised us information.”
Rallascant looked up at him, then at Lucy. “You really don’t find her at all familiar? She’s lost some of her stature, but you’ve met Miss Barnes before.”
The girl and the masked man shared a look. As they were distracted, he scampered between the man’s legs and ran out the door.
