So maybe we say they exited from something that looks like a building, kinda overgrown and broken up, coming out through the wall? That could track with where Gabriel and Lucy ended up. We can just say Soldier thought it was a building because they entered the tower and it feels like a building inside, but when you exit it, it’s like a door in the middle of nowhere.
I was picturing them going into the lone tower, exploring a maze of rooms, then popping out in said middle-of-nowhere door.
maybe Rall showing up will cause it to shift again?
Lol maybe. I have a feeling the labyrinth shifts all the time whether or not Rall wants it to, although perhaps he has some power over it.

I was thinking he only has control over his rabbit tunnels. He can navigate the maze and talk to it, but not tell it what to do.

As if it either finds him annoying or it secretly thinks he’s funny or somethin’ and wants to watch him mess with people.

The man led them to a broken-up place along the labyrinth wall, crowned with ivy – the same place Gabriel and Lucy had come from.
Rain fell lighter than before, tracking in little streams over the door’s threshold. The door was still open. Sickly orange light flickered inside, beside the locked doors Gabriel and Lucy had initially left behind. This time, two people sat on the checkered floor. One of them watched over the other.
As Lucy followed behind Gabriel, staying close but trying not to step on his heels, the strangers spoke. They all seemed to be adults, as old as one another, and just as unfamiliar-looking as the first.
“Did I hear someone say ‘help’?” As quick as a shadow, his little feet set in the middle of the door, a small creature flitted into existence next to Lucy.
He was scruffy, with a large nose and a narrow expression, his eyes glittering like newly uncovered apple seeds.
Something about those eyes, that sparkle, was almost familiar. Lucy, hand hooked around Gabriel’s arm, gave the creature a slowly deepening frown.
”Have you been stalkin’ us?” Lucy asked before any of the adults had time to speak first.

btw Huntress probably isn’t awake yet? so for her it’d be more like lying on the floor, not sitting. But ehh maybe I should just have her be awake and disoriented, either way works.

The bird man jumped in surprise and suddenly lunged for Rallascant, who hopped to the other side of the room, letting the man crash into the wall behind. His focus stayed on the girl, his eyes twinkling with surprise and amusement.
“Why, it’s good to see you again, my dear. Face to face this time. That’s quite the spell you’ve got on you.” His smile widened, and then he disappeared as the bird man lunged at him again. He reappeared right next to the girl. “Don’t worry,” he whispered to her. “I’m still keeping up my end of the deal.”

Lucy didn’t reply right away. Instead she gave the creature a long, strange look. The kind of look she gave a hawk as it sat brooding somewhere over a flock of doves, or a homeless person trying to scare children on their way home from school. The creature’s words didn’t make sense, but they felt somewhat meaningful.
She tilted her head and whispered back, “There’s no spell on me.”

Gabriel
Gabriel’s blood boiled in his veins. That devilish imp was the one who greeted them at the beginning with his smile of swamp yellow teeth. This sick game they were forced to play was most likely of his conjuring. Now he dared to get so close to Lucy. He kept the arm that Lucy gripped still, but his other acted like lightning, blade only grazing the imp’s skin before he teleported away.
Gabriel didn’t say it out loud, but his thoughts muttered death threats. The gurgling of the voices in his head grew louder. “Explain what you meant by spell, goblin!” Gabriel demanded.
