But one thing you guys can use if you ever get bored that I thought of is that Ralascant has simple, non lethal traps like nets and camouflaged pits and things all over the maze for people to fall into.

What was he so mad about? I didn’t do anything!
I nodded my head toward the building–the crawlspace, as he called it–and then took off. “Follow me!”

Soldier reappeared eventually. A single one of those massive crows dove for him, but he avoided it and landed next to me.
“We have help!” he proclaimed.
I gave him a look. “What kind?”
I got my answer when two figures came trudgin’ outta the mist. One was a man, presumably a human but possibly a Changeling–he wore a mask over his face. The other was definitely a human….but she was also a child.
I tensed. Never mind that “help” was apparently one bloke and a kid–who sent a star-blasted CHILD to the labyrinth?!
Whether the man was her father or simply her guardian, he kept throwin’ looks at Soldier whenever my teammate got too close to the girl, so I decided to stay where I was and address him from ‘ere.

he is going to get at least snatched and tossed in the air, if not savaged like a rabbit, by Soldier. Nobody just “shows up” behind an Ornithiform, much less one who drank lead water and lived. Especially a small thing which looks to be prey.

My characters took a similar path to you, but for all we know they didn’t actually and the path just shifts.
