Sniper

Soldier continued to peek through the cabinets, shoutin’ out names of planets he recognized.

Not helpin’, Solly, I thought. Why don’t you find a cabinet that actually opens.

He didn’t. But we did come across an open door.

Thunder rumbled outside, and the wind caused some rain to blow in and speckle the floor with water. Soldier yelped when a stronger gust drenched him.

Somethin’ bright flashed past us. He forgot about the rain and our mission and chased it into the storm.

“Soldier!” I yelled, but he was long gone.

I began to step out into the storm, but stopped and looked back at the building. I couldn’t leave Huntress there, alone and injured, ‘specially not with all the deadly creatures wanderin’ around in this labyrinth.

He would just ‘ave to fend for himself out there.

 

 

(I imagine the bright thing is a benevolent maze creature. Soldier is currently heading your characters’ direction. Sniper may join him if he decides to.)
