      Kyo!

(Kyo means hello in my brother and I’s  current WIP which is set in the fictional world of Khavaria)

      I’m Folith-Feolin

Which is the name of one of my favorite characters in our wip.  I’m currently a Sophomore in high school. My twin brother and I have been coming up with stories since before I can remember but over COVID we actually decided to try writing one of these such stories. Our current series is a grimdark fantasy that follows a myriad of extremely different characters from different backgrounds and view points as their already broken world speeds toward an inevitable war.

Its wip name is either The Khavarian Anthology or BOTR (Blood of the roses) we use both interchangeably.

My interests include board games my current favorites being Scythe, Root and Too Many Bones. I also like History and fantasy novels, The Stormlight Archive is amazing. Lastly I like learning computer security and playing with AI art generation. A side note my profile pictures are both things I created with AI art generation. I also do competitive archery but I have only been doing that for 1.3 years now…

If you would like me to elaborate on anything above (I know I gave a really vague explanation for our wip) or just want to say something random feel free to ask.

@folith-feolin. Hello, and welcome to Kingdom Pen! 😀

I am FreedomWriter76, a Christian, Homeschooled, Southern teen girl that has a passion for spreading the light of Christ through Historical Fiction. I’m also a huge History and Marvel nerd, but we won’t go there. 😉

And as is customary for us to do on KP, I’m gonna ask you a few random questions! (also, that’s epic that you have a twin and do competitive archery!)

        1. What’s your WIP about?

        2. Coffee, Tea, or Neither?

        3. Any favorite shows/movies?

        4. Favorite Author?

        5. Favorite Dessert?

        6. Favorite Animal?

And…finally…7. Does Pineapple belong on Pizza? Yay or nay?

Again, welcome to Kingdom Pen! I hope you have a wonderful time here! God Bless! <3

And…a few other people to say hello!

          GAHHH! ANOTHER TWIN?!

Ah, excuse me. I haven’t properly introduced myself yet.

I am Koshka, a homeschooler, historical nerd, and writer of non-magical medieval-fantasy and/or other stuff. A lot of other stuff.

Now, I am also a twin, my sister and I being Identical. I get a tad bit excited when I meet others who share similar awesomeness.

What type of competitive archery? I have a close friend who does compound bow stuff, but I’ve never been to, or participated in, archery competitions. I am however currently learning the Turkish horse bow, although sadly without the horse, and on my own.

You’re WIP sounds interesting. The name BOTR is not perchance in anyway inspired by the War of the Roses? (An intriguing but extremely confusing time, to say the least.) Are you developing a type of fictional language?

Now, for the all important ask-the-newbe-questions!

          1. If you could ride a dragon for a day, or own a horse for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
          2. What is the weirdest thing either you or your character has eaten?
          3. What is the hair color of your favorite author?
          4. How many dogs in one castle are too many?
          5. And most importantly: Do you like jellybeans?

Hello! Welcome to kingdom pen! I’m LoopyLin. I like coming up up with a bunch of different kinds of stories, but mostly magical fantasy or sci-fi. I intend for several of my story ideas to end up being animated series or comics.

That’s really cool that you’re working on a story with your brother. What is your character Folith like in your WIP?

Sorry I was away from my computer so long…

Its so cool to meet another Identical twin 🙂

I use a compound bow and only do target shooting.

              To answer the aforementioned questions:

              @freedomwriter76

              1. I will make a second reply to explain the answer to this…

              2. Tea! I don’t drink coffee at all but I do probably drink 1-2 cups of tea a day.

              3. I don’t watch a lot of tv these days (I have limited time and tend to prioritise reading and playing board games) but recently I have been watching Amazon’s The Rings of Power.

              4. That changes a lot but currently Its Brandon Sanderson

              5. probably Ice Cream of some kind

              6. My favorite animal is an Axolotl

              7. pizza should not have pineapples on it

              @koshka

              1. I would probably take the horse. The dragon just has too many variables involved and even though I don’t really like horses I could at least sell it or give it to my sister. 🙂

              2. Snail, it was on a cruise and they offered it so I decided to try it… it was bad

              3. *hastily looks up a picture* Brandon Sanderson has black hair I think

              4. infinity

              5. That my friend depends on the jellybean…

To answer the question about the title BOTR, the answer is kind of…

Originally the story was inspired by the war of the roses, the original story also mainly only dealt with The Rose technocracy (or Rose Corporation) who did derive their name as a reference to the War of the Roses. The story gradually expanded though as did our fictional world and eventually the story came to be not just about the Rose Corporation. Hence the other newer wip name the Khavarian Anthology we still use BOTR to refer to the story though.

I’m not really creating a language (naming things is already hard enough) sometimes in the instance of Kyo I just come up with expressions or other such culture related things (although in our book they almost always pronounce c as s  and x as sh in names of things)

The explanation of my wip which will lead to an explanation of Folith…

As mentioned before the story started out small probably a trilogy of a hexology to tell all of it. But as it grew it became clear that would not be the case. we sifted through a couple of ideas on how to tell the series and landed on this kind of weird model…

the series is separated into categories we call seasons.

We plan on plotting out the first season before we start actually writing the books we are about 30%, give or take, through season one and we probably started this, 1.3 months ago?

Season one at least takes place over the course of slightly less than a year. It has 6-7 books, the first 5 chronicle what is simultaneously happening in 5 different regions each centered around one of the major factions. We are currently thinking that the last 1-2 will bring some of these threads together and set up for the next season in which the process repeats to an extent.

I have to go do homework now so I will do a more in depth explanation of the world and factions + magic systems when I’m finished.

Hello and welcome to KP @folith-feolin !

My name is Aubrey, I’m a HS junior 😀

Little bit about myself: My current WIP is a dystopian fiction, hoping to turn it into a multi part graphic novel. I have a few hobbies, mainly drawing, speedcubing, playing my clarinet, and of course, writing.

You and your brother’s WIP sounds interesting… what an intriguing title 🙂

The Ai art you used as a profile pic is really cool! It has a really good since of atmosphere, I can kinda feel the vibe of the story just by looking at it!

                  Couple of random questions:

                  1. What character do you have the most fun writing and why?

                  2. Any favorite music/artists you listen too?

                  3. What is your least favorite part of writing?

                  4. If you could live in any other country for a year, where?

                  5. Are there any authors, people, or other media that influenced your writing for the better?

                  6. What is the overarching theme/themes of BOTR?

Great getting to know you and I look forward to seeing you around!

Sorry it took so long to get back to this I was planning on just doing my math homework and then coming back but well lets just say homework didn’t go as planned and then I had to do school so…

to answer “a couple of random questions”

                    1.  So my current favorite character to write is named Tieren. It might just be because he is currently who I am mostly writing about but he is also fun because he is a previously privileged-ish character who is then forced to lead a small community in the middle of nowhere. It is fun to watch him grow.

                    2. My favorite music artists are probably for Christian music is probably Elevation worship. For non Christian music its Clamavi de Profundis (so technically they could be counted as christian because they also sing Catholic hymns but I only listen to them because they do a really good job putting Tolkien Poems to music) and Peter Hollens (he mostly does a’Capella versions of songs from movies tv  shows and video games). When Im writing I mostly listen to instrumental music by Bear McCreary (The expanse, God of War both of which I’ve never watched/played but have very good music) and Two Steps from Hell (they make really good instrumental music)

                    3. Getting writers block

                    4. I would either live in China because I’m currently taking Chinese in school and also china is pretty interesting or I would live in New Zealand because it seems very fantasy-like to me.

                    5. Probably masterclass, Brandon Sanderson, Wikipedia and Spark-notes (I read lots of summeries of things that I dont have time to read/watch)

                    6. I think the biggest overarching theme of BOTR (or The Khavarian Anthology) is that every side has a story.

                      @folith-feolin

Teiren sounds interesting! If that’s pronounced how I think it is, his name might rhyhm with my character Kieryn lol.

I haven’t heard many of elevation worships songs, but I see definitely see their name come up on the radio a lot.

I might have to check our spark-notes, sounds interesting!

                      Great theme chioce too 🙂
