Hey everyone! I thought it’d be fun to have a topic where we talk about writing inspiration. So I have two questions.

      What has inspired your WIP?

This could be something that has inspired your WIP as a whole, or maybe just a certain character, scene, or aspect of the world.

      Where do you find inspiration?

When you’re stuck, or just want to feel inspired, what do you do to find inspiration?

Last of all, this is just a topic where we can share stuff for inspiration, like photos, writing prompts, or even just some words of encouragement.

I’ll answer the questions in my next post. For now, some tags!!

        What has inspired your WIP?

Definitely real life. I draw inspiration from the people and circumstances around me and try to infuse some of that into my writing.

One part in particular though, is when my group goes underground through basically an underground maze created by a resistance group. That was based of off the Strander burrows from the Wingfeather Saga.

I can’t think of anything else at the moment, but if I do I’ll share!

        Where do you find inspiration?

Funnily enough, I am sometimes inspired at church. XD Sometimes when I’m just worshipping, I feel really inspired to go write my book for God’s glory.

But I also have been inspired by music that relates to my book, or even just by looking over my moodboards. 😉

          Oohhhh!!!! Love this idea!!!

Hmm, let’s see, I think the story that I’m working on now (I have no idea for a title xD) probably came from some kind of question, a random thought about the plot, but I also have read a couple books like it so it could have come from that too.

Ummm, I get inspired listening to songs, talking with my family (sometimes we say weird things 😅), watching movies or tv shows, but probably the most reading other books.

Also, a lot of ideas come in the middle of the night. 😉🤣

Right now, a story that I’m starting on with my sister, the inspiration was an old story of hers and the Hunger Games, lol.

So yeah! I’d love to hear about everyone’s inspirations!!!

This is a really cool idea!!

Ok, number one, when I’m feeling uninspired, I pray. Then number two, I take a break. I draw or listen to music. One thing I’ve learned from video games is that if you’re stuck on a really hard boss fight, take a break. When you come back, you usually nail it first try.

Random things inspire me. It could be a location, a song, a name, a phrase, it could really be anything. Other books often leave me inspired.

With my current WIP, the original spark came a long time ago. I don’t even remember where it came from. It died, and I buried it at the back of my mind.

Then, a couple months ago, it randomly came back. I dug up the old scrapped idea. It really was kind of cringey, and I’m not going to tell you about it, but I hacked it up and took some of the pieces. And that became my WIP.

            Anyway, I’m rambling 😂

Funnily enough, I am sometimes inspired at church. XD Sometimes when I’m just worshipping, I feel really inspired to go write my book for God’s glory.

            Me too!!

              ooh this looks fun

and a place where I can share quotes XD and images from my Pinterest addiction

              What has inspired your WIP?

So my newest WIP (not counting fanfics) and my main WIP was inspired by people

I’ve gotten compliments on my dialogue, and my main thing is watching people, in shows, movies, or just in real life

how people react to certain things, the different types of people, and just overall just people

Most of my WIPs are about grief and the different ways people handle it, and how some ways are unhealthy

              Where do you find inspiration?

              Pinterest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt whatever book you’re writing someone has a quote that fits it perfectly

and images and face claims help so much!!!

and then I make boards lots of boards!!!

                  Great topic idea!

                  What has inspired your WIP?

So a lot did, I was taking a walk and saw the moon up in the sky and though. What if there were two moons? How weird would that be? So I began to think about it a bit. Why would there be a second moon in the sky? Who would launch it? Then I needed a main character. I was totally out of ideas so I looked at the back of my moms cookbooks and books and one authors name was Shauna. It was perfect. We went skateboarding and rollerskating a ton with friends in our old town and the place we went at was just how I would imagine a scene in my book. And from then on, I have been working on my WIP. “One moon is enough!”

                  Where do you find inspiration?

Seriously everything! When we are driving in the car, talking to people, exploring new places, everything! When people talk, what people look like, how they talk and react and dreams.

                  "Would you kindly...?"

Oh yeah, that’s definitely important. 😊

                      @esther-c What inspired me?

Well, if it’s not a fanfic, it’s probably my Rexy series, a set of picture books I’ve published about a dinosaur with a speech problem. I wrote it because I have autism, and I wanted to remind other kids with disabilities/special needs/that kind of thing, as well as any kid who had a passion for writing, that they could easily do the exact same if they wanted to.

My one WIP that’s kinda fallen to the corner, a once-dystopian-but-now-probably-just-sci-fi, Into the Forbidden Cavern, was a prompt that I extended into an actual story. I should get back to writing it, but I prefer writing fanfics of established stories for some reason…..
