October 30, 2017 at 9:44 pm #50456@christi-Eaton Wow… Those are amazing…
Question [that has bugged me]- How do you get the paint to be splashed like that? And how is there no paint on the white witch? What is your painting advice?
Those are amazing!!!IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
October 31, 2017 at 5:46 pm #50601@catwing Since I did this with acrylic paints it works well with water, I usually just put my brush in the paint then dip it in water. Pretty much all of those are just flicking my brush and trying to control it as much as I possibly can. There is a little layer of white paint on the white witch, basically, I was just super careful with my angled brush and black paint to get smooth lines.
I didn’t use it for most of these paintings, except it is used as an outline on the Finding Neverland one. But I highly recommend Acrylic paint pens. You can basically use it like a marker and hold it that way except it’s paint. Hope that helps!

November 1, 2017 at 12:37 pm #50794@catwing @cloudy Because I’m self-taught, I’ve figured out techniques by experimenting. So with that, keep drawing and playing around.
Rule number 1
Don’t go around trying to make your art perfect. The best thing is to make art just for the sake of making art. Even if you think all of your art looks like crap, keep practicing and experimenting. Eventually, you’ll find more techniques and start figuring out your own style (I’m still trying to find mine) Also, use what art tools you have. Don’t think you need to buy all of the supplies before you can make anything at all. Some of my favorite work of mine is done completely with a regular mechanical pencil. There’s some of my extra advice. Take it or leave it as you will. 🙂 Happy drawing, hope to see more of your guy’s art.

Well I hope the art hasn’t stopped now that inktober is over. Please keep posting some art. I’d love to see it.
Anyway, I’m still working with the ink pens and am finally working on creating illustrations for my children’s book so I’d thought I’d throw these out there. This is my WIP 🙂
Here are the first two stanzas to get you in the mood. 🙂
“Sitting on the shelves, all lined nice and neat
Are faces peering at the crisp Autumn street
Their little hands pointing to the time that they tell
Each one is different and that is quite well.
There are tall ones and short ones and some look so grand
While others can fit in the palm of your hand.
Cuckoos and Grandfathers all sing with the hour
Their chorus as true as the bells on the tower.
Each morning at six comes the man to his shop
A smile on his face as he takes out the mop
His hands are quite calloused and his hair is stark white
He cleans and he dusts, making sure all is quite right
He takes special care that each face looks brand new
He loves his little clocks and that is quite true.
He tinkers and fiddles with the cogs and the gears
Enjoying his work as he has done for years.”
Are any of you working on anything? If so I’d love to see it.

~I don’t know what I’m doing~
November 7, 2017 at 9:32 pm #51990@christi-Eaton those are really sweet!
I posted a picture of one of my characters on Characer Art Exchange #2 awhile back. I don’t think I tagged. Anyway, I am working on a water color painting of a catwing (It was going to be a cat, then I decided to add wings. 😛 ). I’ll post it when I’m done. So far I’ve just drawn it. But I’m a bit sick right now and when I’m sick I can’t really draw that great. Or I mostly don’t want to. (Also I could squeeze on it or the squeeze could make me mess up.) *shrug* I’m getting better though. I mostly do pencil so I’m going to experiment with some other things too.
