January 10, 2018 at 5:50 pm #59744Hi @daeus!
I’ve noticed the appetite for fantasy. My (current) favorite historical character is Queen Jeanne d’Albret.

January 10, 2018 at 7:32 pm #59759@bella-d Welcome to Kingdom Pen! I’m a historical fiction lover and writer too. I’m currently obsessed with the French revolution and have just read The Scarlet Pimpernel, A Tale of Two Cities, etc, lately.
I love Elisabeth Elliot’s books too! Which is your favourite?

January 10, 2018 at 9:16 pm #59772@bella-d And I’m thrilled you’re thrilled I know who those authors are! π Do you like Jeanne d’Albret because of reading theΒ Chosen Daughters series?Β My favorite in that series was Margaret Wilson inΒ Against The Tide.
Have you read any books by Lois Walfrid Johnson, Robert Elmer, or R. M. Ballantyne?
@notawriter and @daeus Thanks!Β My brain is now telling me “You knew that!” but for some reason I never put it together. πΒ Now I have a genre!"Sylvester - Sylvester!"

Theater kid. Currently depressed because I can't stop listening to sad musicals.

Stan is thrilled to have you here π (Stan is my orange dragon pal)
It’s cool that you like historical fiction. I like it, too, but I tend not to write it. I write fantasy, although I love history itself π

January 11, 2018 at 11:13 am #59816@bethanys.inky.roses. Hi! It’s so great to be here!
@daeus She was a queen from Narvarre during the French War of Religion… a tiny little land adjoining Spain and France, which is today a part of France. Queen Catherine de Medici pestered her country constantly because she was Protestant and the rest of France was not. Queen Jeanne’s courage is especially inspiring to me, which is why she is one of my favorites.Heir of Splendor
January 11, 2018 at 11:17 am #59817@seek-justice My favorite is Let Me Be A Woman. What about you?
@rochelliane Yes! I have the Chosen Daughters, and Margaret Wilson was a great story. I like Wings Like A Dove because Christine Forenhorst has a similar writing style as I do, and that books ends just as mine begins. It’s super fun!

January 11, 2018 at 11:19 am #59819@dekreel Thanks! That does help.
@christi-eaton I heard about it through Brett Harris. He started a writing group called the Young Writer’s Workshop. I don’t know if you heard of it, but I’m a member there too.Heir of Splendor
