      Hey, like I said above I’m doing CWW (Crazy Writing Week). It looks like a lot of fun! It’s hosted by Brett Harris. If you’ve read anything from the Rebeloution or Young Writer’s blog and really enjoy stuff from Brett, I highly recommend trying it. You write an average of 4k in 1 week and compete with others during it. The more you write the more prizes you get!

        @sarafini Oooh that sounds fun!! I’ve heard my brother mention it but I’ve never been super clear on how it works. Do you need to sign up for anything, or could one do it through Kingdom Pen?

            @sarafini

            Is it a virtual contest or do you connect with the other contestants in a forum?

            He must increase, but I must decrease.

              @booksandbeakers Try going to the Young Writers website and searching Crazy Writing Week.

              @felicity
              No idea. Lol. This is my 1st year. I’m assuming it’ll be similar to KP but Idk.

              @lewilliams
              if you want the prizes you’ll have to sign up with your email otherwise you could just write 4k during the week of January 9-16. Look up what I told @booksandbeakers

                  @sarafini

                  I recently saw this in the young writers Instagram, and I think I might do it! I came back here because I remembered you talking about it! I wish they had some more info on the website about it, but hey, worth a shot right? Will you be there? I’m still not sure if I’m doing it… but it seems like a great opportunity to stretch myself. And I actually think 4k a week is doable. I’m not sure how I feel about nanowrimo (50-60k in a month 😲) I would worry my writing would have a quality downturn, but 4k is alright!

                  @booksandbeakers

                  Oh yay! You’re doing it? I think I might…?

                    @mineralizedwritings  Your work during NaNoWriMo or something like CWW is less than your best work for sure (encouraging, right?) Still, the community feel has its benefits. I did 40K during November and the half-of-a novel I wrote was pretty terrible. I will say it varies for different people though.

                    Yeah… well actually something came up and I might not be able to do it. MAYBE. I’m on Brett Harris’s email list and registration is already open, I don’t know when it closes.

                      Aw, that’s too bad. It’s funny, I actually thrive on this kind of thing. It keeps me writing and I end up doing a lot better work when someone is telling me to. Don’t know why but everyone is different, I guess. I’ve heard of a lot more people writing terrible work during this kind of thing than their best (like me 😉). So many people tell me it’s bad to do it but they also tell me not to do school while other people are in the room. I actually do way better work with deadlines and noise. 🤷‍♀️ It’s just the way I am. I don’t know about the rest of you but it’s getting super annoying hearing non-writers tell me how to write. My family is super great and supportive but I have friends that have done this kind of thing to me.

                        Has anyone had someone give you the starving writers talk? I haven’t yet because my friends all think being a writer is cool and my family thinks I have the gift to write really well. It’s very nice. Some of my friends just don’t enjoy doing it themselves but think they know how a writer should write. It’s annoying and kind of funny. Especially since most of them don’t even like writing why should they care how I write?

                            I work better with noise too. My parents can’t understand how I can read Tale of Two Cities at the breakfast table, with AIO blaring, kids dashing around, the dog barking…

                              Haha! Yay! Someone finally gets it!

                              Ooh! AIO!!! My siblings like it but only listen if I’m already listening. Lol. Although, lately they’ve been asking me to turn it on because I tend to listen to podcasts or books on audible instead. They think those are boring. Lol.

                              Ooh! Can you tell me what to expect during CWW?

                                Yes, well, for school (I’m homeschooled) I need quiet, but engrossed in a good book, the house could fall down and I probably wouldn’t notice:)

                                  I signed up for CWW yesterday and I’m looking forward to it! 😀 I don’t think anyone’s ever given me the starving writers talk… My family is supportive and my non-writer friends don’t know that I write. 😉

                                  I think it’s Jan. 9-16th. Are you doing it this year?

                                  Funny, yes when you grow up with siblings I think you get these special adapters in your ears that can tune out background noise. JK. 😀
