@ariel-ashira I think it’s really interesting that there’s an eighteenth-century English dictionary that lists dragons as “now rare!” 😀 And the Bible does mention unicorns, so possibly? There’s not much certainty as to what kind of animal the Bible was talking about, and some say it might have been rhinoceros, but those actually have two horns, so there could have been real “horse” unicorns in Bible times!
Okay…now you’ve got me curious. Why in the world would your cousins call you Sylvester?!

March 17, 2018 at 3:00 pm #67195@rochellaine XD I’m not particularly refined at poetry, so to me, it seems pretty great. If I think of any improvements, I’ll post them

Also, Daeus has 22 turtles in his signature.March 17, 2018 at 3:11 pm #67197@sam-kowal Thanks. That’s okay. I probably should ask someone like @daeus shouldn’t I?
Oh, wait…I think I just did. 😀

March 17, 2018 at 8:19 pm #67238@rochellaine. My real name is Esther, and all of us cousins have nicknames for eachother, just for fun. A few of mine include Eggplant, Easter Egg, and Sylvester. 🙂

March 17, 2018 at 9:35 pm #67257@rochellaine There is a such thing as a one horned rhino. 😉
I like your poem, it’s nice.
Can’t think of any crimes right now though… :3IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!
March 17, 2018 at 9:43 pm #67258March 17, 2018 at 11:17 pm #67283@rochellaine I love your poetry, though I agree this isn’t as good as your other ones. My best guess for why this is is that the poem doesn’t contain much imagery. Probably, you should focus on the imagery of the dragon for different forms of symbolism and then somewhere in there creatively connect the dragon symbolism to fear. (Notice how I subtly evaded coming up with an actual creative option. Yep. I’m brilliant that way.)

March 17, 2018 at 11:23 pm #67284@daeus Thank you! That makes sense. I have realized a few times recently that I don’t know much about imagery, so I guess I’ll have to work on that.

March 19, 2018 at 4:37 am #67356@rochellaine I love this, and don’t have much critique other than what @daeus said. Adding imagery would make the poem more complex and add to the dragon’s meaning, and the triumph over it at the end. But it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes about fairy tales:
“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” -G.K. Chesterton
