Wow, that is neat. It must have been cool to speak with a native Swahilian. Do you think you’ll ever go to Africa?
Yes, they are intense, and very difficult to read (for me, at least). I definitely do not recommend any of her later books; the romance in them is too…adult.
I’ve read two of the Anne of Green Gable books. How many are there in the series?
Speaking of books, you mentioned that the superhero series is your current one. Have you written any other books?August 14, 2015 at 9:41 am #4325I love the Avengers and the Avenger movies! 🙂 Who is your favorite? I really like Captain America, though I’m also looking forward to seeing Ant Man when it comes out on DVD.
How long is the superhero series you are writing going to be? What stage of writing are you on?
INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.
August 14, 2015 at 10:29 am #4332It was cool, but it was also embarrassing not actually being able to converse in Swahili as I haven’t practiced in a while. But it was nice knowing I was on track with pronunciation! I’d love to go to Africa. God has called me to the mission field. I don’t know what that’s going to look like, but I’m excited.
I think there’s around eight books in the series. I have them all, I believe, but I just have to get around to reading them.
I’ve worked on many other stories…but I’ve only actually finished two from my superhero series. Okay, I did finish the first draft of a historical fiction novel, but let’s not talk about that one at all. o_o
I remember one of my first books I started writing was called “Mirror” and it had elements /very/ similar to Wayne Thomas Batson’s ‘The Door Within’ series. And though obviously that could never be published, it’s one of my first works that inspired my love of writing.
August 14, 2015 at 10:32 am #4334Ah! I love Captain America. He’s really underrated as far as character development goes. There’s a lot there that’s hard to catch. They’ve done an excellent job with him. And, honestly, Loki is another favorite of mine. I know, I know, he’s a bad guy…but Tom Hiddleston does a marvelous job. I’m also looking forward to Ant Man! Have you watched Agent Carter??
My superhero series is currently two books long. The first is self-published on Amazon (and a bit too early on there…). The second is going through revisions, and the third is being planned/kind of written/kind of floating around somewhere in my mind.
August 14, 2015 at 12:38 pm #4356Really? That’s so exciting! I’ve always wanted to be a missionary (and I still do, of course). Do you know yet which country in Africa The Lord is sending you to?
I can definitely relate to your last comment. The earlier drafts of my novel have so much plagiarism I’m embarrassed to read them. 🙂August 16, 2015 at 5:11 pm #4438Nope, I really don’t know what country yet. I’d honestly love to travel all over. Where would you like to be a missionary?
August 17, 2015 at 9:50 am #4454If I could choose where to be a missionary, I would go to the most dangerous country possible – maybe China, or Iran. But as to where The Lord is sending me- I’m not sure. Maybe South America?
August 17, 2015 at 11:52 am #4461Wow! That takes guts. A lot of people would prefer to be sent somewhere safer. The cool thing about God is that He leads us and makes things clear to us, so we don’t have to worry about what life holds for us…because God holds it all. Have you ever been on a missions trip?
August 17, 2015 at 2:29 pm #4480Not yet, but I hope to go on one as soon as I finish high school. Have you?
That is so true. I don’t think there is anything more exciting than following God.August 17, 2015 at 10:33 pm #4490No, I’ve never been on one yet! Hopefully sometime soon I’ll get to go.
It’s true. And God definitely chooses people to send to the most dangerous areas of the world, and then he chooses people to go to less dangerous places that are in just as much need of Him. 🙂August 18, 2015 at 9:51 am #4492It seems like there is a lot of persecution in Africa right now. At least, in Sudan and Nigeria. We get the Persecution Project’s magazines, and it seems like things are getting much worse over there. I admire the courage of the African Christians, and the way they are able to forgive their Muslim persecutors. I hope I can forgive like that. Anyway, I’m really glad you’re going to Africa. They need you.
