G.A Henty was my favorite author for like 5 years. I’ve moved on but I remember going through a phase where I tried to write exactly like him. @salome01w4g
September 19, 2017 at 3:42 pm #43895@josiahdeboer lol, man trying to write like him sounds really hard!! 5 yrs. is a long time, I don’t think I’ve ever had a favorite thing for five years… ๐

September 19, 2017 at 6:02 pm #43918@salome01w4g I grew up on HF reading and writing!
A couple favorite authors… L.M. Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott and Lois Gladys Leppard.
I also really liked Robin Hood and Ivanhoe. ๐What’s y’all’s favorite historical time period to write about?

@salome01w4g I absolutely adore, love, prize, and cherish historical fiction. Ok that’s probably going a little too far. But I love HF anyway. Just so you know. The Count of Monte Cristo totally has to count. Oh, and Elizabeth George Speare is the best!
@josiahdeboer I know it’s weird, sometimes I find myself writing like GA Henty a little bit also.
@rolena-hatfield LM Montgomery’s books are awesome, and Louisa May Alcott is so good! I just finished Ivanhoe, and it, with Robin Hood have too be tops on my medieval reading list!
Oh, and I think that Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice sorta count for historical fiction? They are both really good. (Sorry guys, I think I just went into a rant about historical fiction)September 19, 2017 at 9:10 pm #44007Oh those are good authors, right now I’m writing during the Revolutionary War period.
@shannon ๐ ๐ Yeah If TCOMC counts than P&P an JE count.

@salome01w4g How did I miss this? Historical fiction is almost completely what I write. I’m so glad there is a topic for this now. I like Elizabeth George Speare, and G.A. Henty best. I know I will think of more later…when my brain clears. All I can think about is algebra and the historical fiction story I’m writing.
September 21, 2017 at 2:24 pm #44284@emily oh goodie!!! ๐ lol yeah I’ve got Hunter’s Ed swirling around in my brain.

@salome01w4g Yeah. There’s no way I could write a story right now. I am thinking about a ton of different things at once. I have trouble focusing sometimes.
