Hey, Greta! Welcome to Kingdom Pen!:)
What sort of stuff do you write? Any books finished?November 1, 2015 at 6:57 pm #7061Wow Greta! Hm… who did you play in Charlotte’s Web? Or did you direct? 🙂
Back in the days of sibling skits, I usually directed, produced, and played all major and several minor roles myself. 😛
The only play we’ve done as a family was a play of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. That was fun, only I wanted to be St. Nick and I had to be the father instead. 😛
November 1, 2015 at 7:52 pm #7062Thanks, David! It’s great to meet you.
November 1, 2015 at 7:56 pm #7063Hey, Rosey! I haven’t finished any books yet but really hope to soon! I’m writing a fantasy novel with my sister right now, and I’d like to finish before the end of the school year. What about you?
November 1, 2015 at 7:58 pm #7065@Kate: I was the Goose in Charlotte’s Web. 😛
Haha, that’s awesome, Kate. Oh, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is a good idea!
November 2, 2015 at 12:33 am #7074@Greta Fantasy is great! I’ve not liked it up till now but finally I’ve convinced myself to read the Chronicles of Narnia and LoTR and my mind is slowly but surely being changed. 🙂 I write historical and contemporary fiction.
As for what Daeus said about serious writing discussions…ha! You’ll be hard pressed to find a single thread on here that is without humor. 🙂 It’s a fun group of people here and I’m sure you’ll have a blast!
November 2, 2015 at 9:06 am #7075November 2, 2015 at 9:44 am #7077Aww, Ezra, come on, play nice with the newbies.
Welcome aboard, Greta! Wonderful to have you here. As the Goose in Charlotte’s Web, did you do the whole double-everything with the adjectives? Just curious haha. 🙂
November 2, 2015 at 10:33 am #7078@Ivy: Nice! I, obviously, love fantasy. 🙂
Yeah, I figured Daeus was kidding. 😉
November 2, 2015 at 10:34 am #7079Hi Ezra. *backs away slowly* 😛
November 2, 2015 at 10:35 am #7080Thanks, Amanda! Yes, I actually did say the double everything for the Goose. It was lots of fun!
November 2, 2015 at 11:58 am #7082I’ll bet it was!
Do you like to do medieval fantasy or modern fantasy? And do you prefer High Fantasy or Heroic Fantasy? Or a mix of both? 😛
Hm… those terms aren’t so common. Maybe I should explain. *pulls on nose* yeah, I probably should.
High fantasy is epic in the truest sense of the word, focusing primarily on the plot, and usually the stakes are incredibly high.
Heroic fantasy focuses more on the MC— his/her struggles, journey, and internal battles.Oh, and MC stands for main character.
In fact, I think I’ll just go ahead and give you the whole lexicon.POV— point of view
WIP— work in progress
And… I can’t think of any more. Which means I probably missed the most important. 😛
November 2, 2015 at 12:34 pm #7083@Kate: I write more heroic fantasy I think, but a little of both high and heroic fantasy. What do you write?
Thanks for the definitions! 😀
November 2, 2015 at 1:13 pm #7084Oh, a pretty fair mix of both. I’ve found that combination makes for an excruciatingly long novel, though. 😛
November 2, 2015 at 1:21 pm #7085Oh, really? I’m actually not entirely sure which one I’m focusing more on in my novel. I should probably decide that soon, though, before I get too far along in my novel. 🙂 I think it’s more heroic fantasy…but I’m not exactly sure.
