Here goes…
My name is Adora Istrate. I joined KP a few weeks ago and just discovered this forum, so …hi :P.
Random things about me:
-I’m 14 years old
-I love basically every sport besides basketball because I’m horrible at it
-I love classical/instrumental music… during school I go back and forth from listening to Beethoven to Pachelbell to the Piano Guys
-I love history, literature, and theology. I take all three as one class that studies great books, and I’m very nerdy about it (be very afraid [jk])
-About two years ago my family moved from PA to Romania to be missionaries
-The above kind of explains my username (SleepwalkingMK [MK stands for missionary kid])
-I’m usually lost in some thought or idea
-My favorite books are The Chronicles of Narnia. I’ve read them all at least 5 times, and could talk forever about them and their allegory π
-I actually like Shakespeare (call me crazy). Mostly because I love reading out loud and acting and… just so many characters with so many backgrounds…
-I’m an ENFP, and partly insane
-Since I’m an ENFP, I have so many things I like to do, but I have no idea what I want to be. I know I’d love to write for a living, but it’s not as realistic. Still, one can dream π
-I’m a morning person, but my best ideas come at night (frustrating -_-)
-I love the concept of this place–finding out there are so many people like me is always comforting :).- This topic was modified 8 years ago by SleepwalkingMK.

October 13, 2016 at 4:00 am #19148Hi Adora! Welcome to the forum! π What was it like moving to Romania? Do you like it? What kinds of mission work do you do? I want to be a missionary, although I’m not yet sure where to. I like Shakespeare too! Which of his plays is your favorite? Mine is King Henry the Fifth (I think. The one with Pistol and the Welshman in it.)
October 13, 2016 at 7:05 am #19151@SleepwalkingMK welcome to KP! The bestestist place on the internet! π You like Shakespeare???!!! YAY!!! So do I. π (@Sarah-H I had no idea you did too! Henry V is my favorite as well. *huge grin* And Henry IV— have you read that one?)
What’s your favorite Shakespeare, Adora?
And an ENFP— those are fun. π I take it you’re an MBTI junkie, which again, so am I.
And who says writing for a living is unrealistic? C’mon, girl. No dream is impossible. (Though I’m an INFP, so it might not be the best idea to listen to me on that… π π )
Seriously though, what makes you think writing for a living is unrealistic?Again, so glad to have you here!
October 13, 2016 at 7:38 am #19152@sarah-h Thanks! It was different; the language and culture are different, but my parents are from Romania so I was kind of subconsciously used to some cultural aspects although I only started learning the language now. It did take me a long time to transition, though. My dad is a pastor in a village about an hour from us. We work a lot with the kids there π That’s great that you want to be a missionary! Of the plays I’ve read, I think Henry V is my favorite, too!
@kate-flournoy Thanks π My favorite Shakespeare play is probably Henry V. I studied a few of his plays in school and for a project, I recited St. Crispin’s Day Speech dressed in a Prince Caspian costume, so that’s probably why I like Henry V so much :D. Yeah, I love taking those personality tests… from MBTI to “Which _____ character are you” quizzes π Haha, I said unrealistic because the job demand for paid writers is below average. But, I know, dreams do come true; I would want to try, but to be able to do something else just in case I don’t find work π Thanks πRead to explore worlds, write to create them.
October 13, 2016 at 9:09 am #19153Hi @SleepwalkingMK,
I guess you’ve already been told that this is the bestistest place on the internet, but it doesn’t hurt to have a third confirmation.
Do you write mainly fiction? What type?
Writing’s a weird profession. Most writers are totally broke, but at the same time it can be one of the most profitable professions out there. Writing non-fiction books with back-end sales is probably the most profitable model out there, but fiction has plenty of potential too. High rewards, high risks — what more could you ask for? π
Hope to see you around.

Hey! Welcome to the bestistest forum on the internet! Just a warning: we are a bit crazy here. πYou’re not at all crazy for liking Shakespeare! I love Shakespeare (but there is a possibility that we’re BOTH crazy π ). What are your favorite plays? I love Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was good, too, but not my favorite. π And the Chronicles of Narnia…Yes, just YES. I’ve loved those books since I was little and my dad first read them aloud. π
Anyway, welcome, welcome, WELCOME!
October 13, 2016 at 10:24 am #19162@daeus I’m convinced this is the best place on the internet (creating a word like bestistest = seriously amazing). I like to write fiction, mostly fantasy–I’m fascinated with creating new worlds–but I’ve never yet finished a novel. I wrote a few short stories though. Right now I’m writing more poetry, and even got a poem published on here π
Yeah, writing as a profession is pretty shaky. Nonfiction is pretty hard for me because my mind likes to go wild with new ideas. If I write based on facts, it always turns out to be historical fiction. Haha, your comment about high risks and high rewards made me think of Gimli saying, “Certainty of death… small chance of success… what are we waiting for?” Seems similar π
@gretald Thanks π I lost my sanity a long time ago π . My favorite is probably Henry V, but I also enjoyed Macbeth. I studied the plays in class, and sometimes we’d read the parts out loud. Reading some of Lady Macbeth’s monologues out loud was one of my most uncomfortable experiences but I kind of liked it too because she was such an interesting and layered character. The Chronicles of Narnia has kind of always been my favorite book series, but lately more so because I read them again looking for all the symbolism and allegory in them. πRead to explore worlds, write to create them.
October 13, 2016 at 10:58 am #19164βCertainty of deathβ¦ small chance of successβ¦ what are we waiting for?β
Yesss!!! Exactly. I honestly wasn’t that impressed with Gimli in the first movie, but later on, he really started to shine. The good news though is that innovation can succeed a lot better in the writing industry than in trying to challenge a dark lord in pitched battle.

Hello!
I want to be a full time writer when I get older as well, but first I have to finish my first novel, then I’ll work on publishing it. I figured that if by the time I’m old enough to work full time and I want to be a writer, I may as well start now.
Yay! Piano Guys!!! I love Piano Guys! Which is your favorite song of theirs?
Don’t worry about being crazy or weird. If no one was weird, then we’d all be the same, like robots. And that’s just scary. Besides, everyone is crazy in their own way.
Either way, welcome to the Forum!

October 13, 2016 at 11:50 am #19168@daeus Yes, in the following movies his character got fleshed out more. Haha, that is truly encouraging π
@dragon-snapper That’s basically my plan too π What’s your novel about?
Oh man, there are so many good songs to choose from. I love their Lord of the Rings cover because lotr is my favorite soundtrack, and their cover of A Thousand Years because it’s so calming to listen to while I write/do school. What are your favorite songs by them?- This reply was modified 8 years ago by SleepwalkingMK.
Read to explore worlds, write to create them.
October 13, 2016 at 12:23 pm #19174@sleepwalkingMK Hello! And welcome! Chronicles of Narnia, LOTR, MK… you sound a lot like my family! π I hope you enjoy it here as much as I am!
October 13, 2016 at 1:52 pm #19187Hi there, @SleepwalkingMK. If you’re partly insane, you’ll do wonderfully here. π
October 13, 2016 at 3:54 pm #19193@sleepwalkingMK
Hmm, I think my favorite song by them is either Waterfall or Me and My Cello (Happy Together), though I can’t help but love the LOTR title as well. LOTR is probably one of my favorite movies.
My novel is something along the lines of adventure/fantasy. It’s in a fantasy world minus magic but there are still fantastical creatures. It’s also medieval based, with warring countries and royalty.β β β ENFP β β β

Theater kid. Currently depressed because I can't stop listening to sad musicals.
