Hey everyone! I’m Eliana, 16 years old, going into my senior year of high school. It’s been a while since I’ve been part of a writing community… and this is a Christian one so I’m looking forward to being active on here!
I am a writer of stories, poems, a novel-in-progress, sketches, flash fiction, devotionals, skits, essays, yep basically anything that involves combining letters to form words π. As for the genre I write most often–that would be stories. My three main WIPs are an allegorical fantasy novel, and two historical fiction “short” stories (yeah a more appropriate term than ‘short’ is definitely needed here…). Definitely looking forward to using the critique forums, I LOVE when people give me opinions on my writing :))
My loves outside of writing include soccer, ultimate frisbee (any sport/game really), reading, horses, playing piano, and listening to music.
That’s all I got, looking forward to talking to y’all at some point in the future! π

@starshiness. Hello Eliana, and welcome to Kingdom Pen! I am FreedomWriter76, and I am a teen, Southern, homeschooled, Christian Writer that has a passion for showing the light of Christ through Historical Fiction! π I’m also an unabashed History and Marvel nerd and will literally read almost any History Book I can get my hands on. XD
Ooh, an allegory? I love allegories since I only recently read C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe for the first time in my life! XD If you don’t mind, may I hear more about your WIP’s?
I love listening to Music as well, and ooh, Piano? That’s such a beautiful instrument. I’m learning Guitar. π
As is customary for us on Kingdom Pen to welcome newcomers with questions, I’m gonna ask you a few! π
1. What’s your favorite Ice Cream Flavor?
2. What’s your favorite Book of the Bible?
3. If you could learn any foreign language and speak it fluently, what language would it be? (I am currently learning Latin American Spanish and I also know a few phrases in German. XD)
4. What’s your favorite Song?
And….5. What’s the name of your favorite Character from your main WIP?
That’s all for now, but I can’t wait to talk some more, and I absolutely cannot wait for you to have so much fun here on Kingdom Pen! Again, Welcome, and God Bless! <3
June 27, 2022 at 9:07 am #111916@freedomwriter76 Hi! Oo nice to meet another homeschooler and history buff! I hardly know anyyyyone who writes historical fiction (major tragedy ik… one of the most underrated genres π₯). Yessss same tho XD
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is one of the BEST allegories of all time, I’m glad you read it!!! I am slightly obsessed with Narnia hehe… If you haven’t already, I’d suggest reading The Horse and His Boy! It’s my fav one in the series and the allegorical parallels near the end are e p i c. (I have kind of a thing for symbolism and parallels in writing, I just TOTALLY geek out when I spot one in a story π.) Oh sure! (You may regret asking tho π)
-“Raven’s Quest”, the allegorical novel, centers around a teenaged girl named Raven. Upon learning that her Grandmother, her only living relative since her parents died, has contracted a seemingly incurable disease, Raven is desperate to do something. She is given a small seed of hope when she hears news about a master healer in faraway Parousia, who may have a cure after all. Raven embarks on a journey and along the way she is introduced to “the Great Archer” (aka Jesus). Following this life-changing meeting, Raven is sent on a mission that will test her newfound faith and determine how strong it really is. That is a very dull description bc it doesn’t tell HALF of what happens (or say anything about my perfect boy Keston…) but I’m not sure how else to summarize short of giving you the whole of my incomplete manuscript π.
– The WWII story that remains nameless (is it just me or is coming up with a title half the struggle of writing a story??) is about Stefan, a young man working in the resistance effort. He is sent on his first mission, smuggling goods over the Czech border, but begins to doubt himself when he can’t seem to get over his fears of what could go wrong. But when things start to go awry, that is when he learns the true meaning of courage, and that he may not be completely lacking in it after all.
– The Revolutionary War story is mm kinda a haphazard thing tbh lol. I had the idea for one scene and liked it so much I decided to make it into a story, so I’m really not sure what the theme is… not yet at least. Just figuring it out as I go along π. The story centers around two unlikely characters who meet on board a ship because they have both been taken aboard against their wills. One is a young sailor who was to be impressed into the British Navy and the other the daughter of a rebel militia leader, taken into custody to use as leverage against her father. Once they get over being hostile toward one another (hehehe) they combine efforts to escape together.WHEW, kudos to you if you read all that π
Oo guitar is awesome! I play a little bit of that myself π
Sounds gooood!
1. NY Cheesecake! I think. I better move on before I change my mind again…
2. Oh my that’s hard. Hmm but I think I’d have to go with 1 John.
3. Amharic! I am part Ethiopian and unfortunately I never put the effort into learning my mom’s native language but I hope to someday.
4. “He Knows My Name” by Francesca Batistelli. Such a good message.
5. KESTON!!!!!!! He is my absolute favorite character, I cannot tell you how disappointed I am that he is merely a figment of my imagination… composed of wry smiles, sarcasm, mischievous charm, and laughing blue eyes that never stop twinkling… ahh I love him so much ππ€£. But he’s also very mature and he’s the one that introduces Raven to the Great Archer… and *COUGH, SPOILER ALERT, COUGH COUGH* manages to capture her heart in the end. I have this one scene written out from way in the future of the book (bc my brain refuses to go in order π) and gaaahhh it’s so cute… maybe I’ll post it in the spoiler section π.Aww thank you so much for the engaging questions and the willingness to listen to my rantings! I look forward to hearing from you again!

June 27, 2022 at 11:05 am #111919@starshiness Hi there! I’m Keilah, you can call me K if you want. I like your name, because in one story I wrote, the cat character I had made for myself was called Starshine!
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
June 27, 2022 at 11:52 am #111920@keilah-h Hi K! Nice to meet you! Oo I love that! I really like your name too; it gives me almost a warrior princess feel for some reason π

@starshiness. Your WIP’S SOUND ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I love the allegory! Yeah, hey, another homeschooler! Awesome! There’s quite a few here on KP, you just gotta find them. π
Historical Fiction IS so underrated! I read it, I write it, and I just entirely and absolutely love it! <3
I love all your answers! Ooh, 1 John is a rare one to hear! It’s so overlooked! (To be honest and fair, I haven’t read much from it. Oof. XD) He Knows My Name is a wonderful song! Part Ethiopian? That’s awesome! Oh yes, if only our fav characters were real… π
You’re very welcome for the questions! I love to talk, and no problem. I rant too. π I thinkΒ it’s a writer thing, lol. XD XD XD
June 27, 2022 at 6:07 pm #111924@freedomwriter76 TYSM!!! Ooh nice nice
Ah same π
Aw thanks! It really is, but there’s so much to learn from it; I encourage you to study it!

@starshiness. You’re Absolutely Welcome! π₯°
I will most definitely try! I really need to read some of the lesser-known books of the Bible. π
Yes. Most definitely a writer thing. π€£π€£π€£
OOH, and I have two new questions for you!
1. Do you have any favorite shows/movies/series?
2.Would you rather meet the Antagonist from your main WIP, or the antagonist from your favorite book? (ahh, THE SUSPENSE!!!!)
Oh, and have you ever heard of The Chosen? π§

@starshiness Well howdy yonder!!!! Welcome to the gang!!! I go by Wilder here…but some people *winks* know who I really am…maybe you’ll catch on one day too lol. Just know I’m weird. I’m a girl. I’m a tad bit on the comical side. And I love, love, love gummy bears….in fact…well, I love blue Gatorade more. I also am a guitarist, pianist, mandolin player, flute beginner, and drum solo artist….I like music. Well, I LOVE it. Give me recs if you have any please!!!!
Here’s a couple questions for ya, from myself…
Have you eaten a lemon whole before? Weird question, but shows you my personality!
Favorite song?
Not so favorite song?
Oooohhh, what is your favorite sport??? I played volleyball for six years…before we moved…but I also am a swimmer and basketball player and I always wanted to play soccer.
Have you ever heard of The Chosen…if you haven’t…you should watch it!!! It’s awesome!!! If you have, well, who’s your favorite actor??
June 28, 2022 at 3:10 pm #111951@freedomwriter76 I’m working my way through Numbers rn and ahah it is a bit of a struggle XD. I have a checklist that I go through of the books of the Bible so I don’t reread the same ones over and over and overrrr again and miss out on the rest!
YAYYY more excuses to ramble! XD
1. Ok sooo I am not very up to date with modern tv shows (we actually don’t have tv, just a DVD player) BUT if you mention anything from before like 1980 I will most likely have heard of/watched it ππ. My all-time fav show since I was a little girl was the Robin Hood series with Richard Greene. I absolutely love the archer aesthetic (hence why I have the whole archery theme going in Raven’s Quest!!) and Maid Marian is one of my favorite heroines of all time because talk about SPUNK!! I love her so much and am currently obsessed with this Robin Hood retelling I recently finished called “The Outlaws of Sherwood.” A different take on Robin Hood but SO GOOD and they captured Marian’s spirit JUST AS IT SHOULD BE (imo at least). Ope, I’ve sidetracked myself haven’t I… yes, Robin Hood is probably my favorite tv show, and my favorite movie… good gracious no I can’t pick only one, just like with books XD. But I do adore Pride & Prejudice (AS ALL READERS SHOULD) and Anne of Green Gables!
2. Hmmm I think I’d have to go with the antagonist from RQ, Prince Cuthran. He’s very power-hungry and an interesting character I have yet to develop… if I had the chance to meet him I’d probably be able to describe him better in my novel so that would be a huge plus π
I have heard of the Chosen, but as of yet I’ve never watched it. Oh, except for the Christmas special they had in theaters last year! That was SO GOOD, it made the story and the characters seem so REAL!
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
June 28, 2022 at 3:28 pm #111952@wilder-w Hey there Wilder! Oo well then, maybe I’ll take that as a challenge to find out π. Gummy bearssssss, the one thing I could not give up when I had braces π. You my friend have exceptional taste. Ah that’s great to hear, I find the “weird” ones tend to be the most fun (and I could use some company π) Oh wowww ok professional musician here! I loveeee music too!! Hmhm, well what kind of music do you like to listen to?? I know a few really good piano soloists and one or two violinists that I will often listen to during math homework to soothe my frazzled brain cells… ππ
I’m afraid my life accomplishments would not include eating a whole lemon… or lime… or anything remotely as sour. It is a sorry life I lead I am afraid… have you??
“He Knows My Name” by Francesca Batistelli!
Yk I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone ask me to name a song I don’t like lol. Hm. I’ll go with “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury. This is kind of an unpopular opinion but I don’t think the term “reckless” should be used when describing God’s love (which is too bad bc musically that song is on point!)
Gotta be SOCCER! I love it so muchhh, and it’s the sport I grew up playing. (Well sorta… I went through a stage between ages 6-9 where I decided playing sports wasn’t ladylike XD) Oo I’ve thought about trying volleyball before, but there aren’t any homeschooled teams around that do it. And basketball is fun! I don’t play on a team but I go to a bball camp every year.
I haven’t seen The Chosen except for the Christmas special in theaters last year (and that was EPIC)… but I’ve heard a lot about it and it looks like a great show!

@starshiness. Good answers!
AND YES, THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! The whole show makes it seem so real and SO RELATABLE! My fav is Simon Peter, other than Jesus. And girl, they make Jesus so…REAL! Like, I’ve never seen a show, movie, etc. represent him as so real as The Chosen does. You really need to check out the show! It is EPIC! π

@freedomwriter76 We’ve already talked about the characters lol
@starshiness For one, gummy bears I would, could never give up lol!!! I love them!!!I listen to ALLLLLLLL music!!!! From pop to solos, rap to Christian. Everything good and clean and healthy for my heart, soul, and mind.
Yes, indeed, I have eaten a lemon whole. And a lime. Big sour fan.
Oh man!!! I have never, ever, met someone with the same opinion as me about Reckless Love!!! I feel the same way!! In fact, I sing ‘marvelous’ or ‘glorious’ or ‘wonderful’ or ‘amazing’…any of those as a substitute.
And yes….watch The Chosen, legit will change your perspective!!
June 28, 2022 at 4:04 pm #111957@freedomwriter76 IT REALLY WAS!!!! Ahhh okok, it’s been moved up on my priority list XDXD
@wilder-wΒ My sentiments exactly!!
Ok so you cover it all lol. Well hm… for piano instrumental I love to listen to the Piano Guys, Patrik Peitschmann, Riyandi Kusuma, and YoungMin You (he has some amazing worship song covers). For violin, mostly Taylor Davis… I pretty much only listen to Christian music and Disney songs/musical songs that most people are prolly already aware of… oh, I LOVE acapella harmonies, for those I go to Peter Hollens and Cimorelli. Actually they have some original songs in their “Alive” album that are just sooo meaningful, I absolutely love them. If I think of any other specific songs that I’d recommend, I’ll let you know π
No way!!! I do the same thing!! That is so cool
Will do!
