I’ve been coding for about four to five years now.
Cool!!
I honestly haven’t seen enough of the Marvel movies to know my favorite, but my favorite character is Rocket.
Oh, okay, awesome!! I haven’t watched the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but I’ve seen Rocket in some of the other movies and he’s pretty cool. 😉
Dominican Republic because my friends are adopting from over there, so… you know, it would be great to learn their culture.
That’s great!! 😊

May 24, 2023 at 4:19 pm #144889I LOVE Lord of the Rings!!
YAY! Good answer! Books, movies, both?
Favorite music groups… probably Maverick City Music, Consumed by Fire, or Blessing Offor.
Niiiiice! I love all those groups too!
I do adore oranges, but I like many foods more. My favorite is caramel donuts (just the simple Walmart bakery kind)
Ohhh, yum!

May 24, 2023 at 4:38 pm #144897@orangearmadillo Cool! Yep, dragons are usually reptiles or at least reptilian-appearing. so…..
I, personally, love lizards.
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
May 24, 2023 at 4:40 pm #144898I haven’t read the books, but I’ve watched the three movies and love them.

May 25, 2023 at 9:59 am #144995Nice! I’ve read the books once but that was a loooong time ago. I LOVE the movies, I’ve seen them like 8 times. 😂 How do you feel about The Hobbit movies?

May 25, 2023 at 4:00 pm #145068I actually haven’t seen the hobbit movies, but I really want to. I just haven’t had the chance to see them. Are they any good? (I’d assume they are but just checking 🙂 )

May 26, 2023 at 10:33 am #145211Depends on what you think makes a movie good. 😂 If you like movies that are very similar to the book then The Hobbit movies are not for you! They added so many unnecessary things to those movies and they are not like the book at all. (I mean, that’s what happens when you turn a single book into three movies XD) Buuuut, I still enjoy them though. In general they are very entertaining, funny, and sweet. And if you put aside the fact that they’re suppose to be based off of a book they’re pretty good movies!

May 26, 2023 at 3:59 pm #145296all righty. I’ll try to see them if I get the chance! 🙂

May 29, 2023 at 2:26 pm #145419A late welcome to KP! I haven’t been very active lately, but I was mentioned on your apologetics page, which I love! I’ll be hanging out there, but first, I’ll introduce myself. I’m the ArcaneAxiom, I love math, finding divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I’m also big on sci-fi/fantasy. I’m currently creating a multiverse with my sister (Princessachronicle) called the Septrum.
Questions:
Hard or Soft worldbuilding? (Hard meaning more rigorously defined rules for the reader to understand with the characters, or soft meaning more open-ended possibility.)
What worldbuilding idea have you read or heard of have you been the most intrigued by?
What is your favorite aspect of your own worldbuilding?
And last but not least:
(Since your really into apologetics) Did God create logic and mathematics, or does He coexist with it with the highest level of understanding and able to use it to assert His will?
He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.
May 29, 2023 at 2:36 pm #145421I like math and Biblical studies too!
I’d say hard world building, that way it can’t be interpreted the wrong way at the start of the book and cause confusion in the future.
Well, I really like the idea of dystopian areas. Wasteland or volcanic areas, or even on a moon.
Here’s my take on that last question. If God were to not exist, there would be zero Gods. That’s math. But if he didn’t exist, there would be nothing, including math. So, I think that God didn’t “create” it, but since he exists, math exists also. Same with logic.

May 29, 2023 at 3:00 pm #145425Interesting thought on hard worldbuilding. I prefer hard as well, but I don’t feel like that’s really a problem with soft worldbuilding if it’s done well. The problem with soft worldbuilding is when the writer gets lazy and lets the story contradict some aspect of worldbuilding established earlier. That might be what you mean.
Dystopias are fun. I’m currently working on one in the Septrum. Are you putting much of that into your WIP? You seem to like the idea of harsh extremes, and seeing how humanity might turn out in some settings, is that right?
Excellent point! I feel the same way. A lot of Christian’s I’ve talked to here seem to subscribe to the idea that He created it, because He created “all things” and while I agree with this, what does “all things” really mean? Without math, we lose the idea of one God, as you point out. I like to say that He Lives by higher laws, because if He didn’t, there couldn’t even be a conception of Him.
He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.
May 29, 2023 at 4:02 pm #145431Yes, that is what I meant about soft world building, and yes, I do very much like harsh extremes or seemingly doomed situations XD (generally it works out in the end though).
About the WIP, I’m wanting to start one, but my main focus is a trilogy me and @Solfyre , my sister, are writing. It has lots of wasteland, so I guess it could be dystopian. There’s also an evil force that, in the third book, will cause everyone to go into hiding and for an eternal midnight to occur (the sun never rises).
I’m glad we agree on the whole math thing lol. I’ve received bitter comments on my view about that, like people saying, “You don’t believe God created everything?” But what they don’t understand is that math is a concept and cannot be created.

May 29, 2023 at 4:18 pm #145435That sounds really cool! You made a forum for it right? I’ll have to check it out.
Exactly. However, you’ve still touched on something very interesting concerning the nature of math. The question of whether math was invented or discovered may seem obvious at first, and you and I can agree it is the latter, however, there is a lot more depth there to think about. Mathematicians can essentially create entirely different mathematical realities by tweaking the axioms they use. For example, by tweaking the fifth axiom in Euclidean geometry, you find Spherical geometry, and Hyperbolic geometry, and from those, you can discover many more. These are useful, but what are they really in regards to what reality fundamentally is? Do these things just describe reality, or are they what reality is? If the latter, then what is the set of axioms for our reality, and why not another set?
He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.
May 29, 2023 at 4:34 pm #145436Yes, my sister made a forum for our book anyway.
I agree that there’s a lot more to it. But they are nothing in comparison to reality in my opinion. They are just discovering more mathematical facts that could possibly prove that in some other reality, hyperbolic or spherical geometry exist. The mathematical laws we see describe who God is, but our universe’s laws describe the set numbers God has fixed on our universe. The reason the others aren’t real is because either
1.) They actually can’t exist for some undiscovered reason.
2.) God knew that there would be better results this way.
The will of God is perfect. The laws God put in place were the ones He desired, and are therefore the perfect ones to accomplish his will. The set of axioms in our universe are simply the ones God chose. Asking why they are not different is like asking why Picasso didn’t paint the Mona Lisa differently. Because he didn’t want to!
This stuff is so fun to think about! Now I have a question for you… What do you think theistic evolution? How would you discuss it with someone?
