      Hello guys! =)

It’s nice to actually get to talk to y’all now. *mind wanders to memories of reading the forum for the past few months…*

yikes that sounds kinda stalker-ish, sorry

Anyways. Here are some things about myself.

      1. I love Jesus. (obviously)
      2. I really enjoy talking all things writing, but characters and arcs specifically.
      3. I’m autistic. So I if I ask y’all to rephrase or clarify a question, please don’t take it personally, I probably just don’t understand the way you asked it. *inserts nervous-laughter sweating teardrop face* XD actual emojis would be so helpful right now
      4. Fantasy and mystery are my favorites. Although I like most genres, except romance as the main plot, horror, and some thrillers/suspense that go too far.
      5. I’ve seen this question a lot, so I’ll go ahead and answer it. XD Snakes are okay (my cousins used to have a lot). I’m thinking about maybe doing a serial style (like Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew) mystery series for younger kids with snakes as the characters. Main character’s name would be Ramen, only for the fact that I could then call him “Agent Noodle…” This would be in the far future.
      6. My current work in progress is a mystery in a fantasy setting. (If you want more details you’re gonna have to ask, I could talk about it for awhile but I don’t want to dump information you’re not interested in.) also gotta maintain some sembilence o

      I LOVE Y’ALL’S CHARACTERS (and stories =D) @godlyfantasy12 @freedomwriter76 @loopylin @mineralizedwritings (if I didn’t tag you here it’s because I don’t accurately remember your tag and/or I haven’t seen your characters in action)

Some questions for y’all, if you’re interested:

      • How do y’all use emojis? (I can’t seem to find them yellow faces…)
      • I’ve noticed we have a lot of mentally ill/disordered/disabled characters on here (particularly with PTSD & C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, and autism), do y’all think making a topic on that would be helpful, as a place to share information we have on those subjects? (I was thinking this could kind of be like the Historical Fiction reference area where y’all shared the resources you found or already had and maybe personal experiences if people want to share)

Until the next time. *eagerly awaits the queue of questions*

        Hello and welcome!

Weird meeting somebody who kinda knows me and I haven’t known them XD So glad you like my characters and thanks!

I’m mineralizedwritings, I write dystopian ya, draw, and make comicy stuffs!

        I love Jesus. (obviously)

        Same!!

Iā€™m autistic. So I if I ask yā€™all to rephrase or clarify a question, please donā€™t take it personally, I probably just donā€™t understand the way you asked it. *inserts nervous-laughter sweating teardrop face* XD actual emojis would be so helpful right now

Completely ok! on a windows, hold the windows key and press period for emojis! šŸ˜šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜®šŸšŸšŸšŸšŸ

Oh, and I’m the one who asks the snake question, if that wasn’t clear by the emoji’s.

Fantasy and mystery are my favorites. Although I like most genres, except romance as the main plot, horror, and some thrillers/suspense that go too far.

Nice! Yeah, I’ve never been much of a horror person.

Iā€™ve seen this question a lot, so Iā€™ll go ahead and answer it. XD Snakes are okay (my cousins used to have a lot). Iā€™m thinking about maybe doing a serial style (like Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew) mystery series for younger kids with snakes as the characters. Main characterā€™s name would be Ramen, only for the fact that I could then call him ā€œAgent Noodleā€¦ā€ This would be in the far future.

YES I love agent noodle. I just like his name already XD I love snakes, and was totally obsessed with them for awhile, hence why I ask if people think they are cool. Snake breeding, feeding, care, species and all the stuff, I was obsessed and sadly hardly anyone wanted to hear my rants XD That was like 10th grade.

My current work in progress is a mystery in a fantasy setting. (If you want more details youā€™re gonna have to ask, I could talk about it for awhile but I donā€™t want to dump information youā€™re not interested in.)

Oh, yes! I would love to here more!

        some questions:

        1. What is your favorite character from you wip to write? Why?

        2. Are snakes cool? Answer carefully!

Oh man you already beat me to it!

        3. what is your favorite theme to put in your writing?

        4. What music do you like?

Hello and welcome to kingdom pen!

This is adorable I love it. I would totally read this series (even though Iā€™m almost an adult lol)

          I LOVE Yā€™ALLā€™S CHARACTERS (and stories =D)

          Aw thanks!

          How do yā€™all use emojis?

Are you on a computer? Iā€™m on an iPad so I think thatā€™s different.

Iā€™ve noticed we have a lot of mentally ill/disordered/disabled characters on here (particularly with PTSD & C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, and autism), do yā€™all think making a topic on that would be helpful, as a place to share information we have on those subjects? Thatā€™s a great idea! I have a lot of adhd characters, one with depression, and a couple who I think have autism, but Iā€™m not sure. I think that forum would be super helpful.

          Ok, questions!

          1. Who is your favorite character from your fantasy mystery?

          2. Do you have a favorite tv show/movie?

          3. What was your favorite story growing up?

Hello. Nice to meet you and welcome to KP!

Do you by any chance read or watch Tolkien? Just wondering what inspired your name. šŸ˜Š

Iā€™ve noticed we have a lot of mentally ill/disordered/disabled characters on here (particularly with PTSD & C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, and autism), do yā€™all think making a topic on that would be helpful, as a place to share information we have on those subjects? (I was thinking this could kind of be like the Historical Fiction reference area where yā€™all shared the resources you found or already had and maybe personal experiences if people want to share)

That would be super helpful for me because right now my current WIP is based on a real life situation in which the man has a mental illness of some kind. I have never written about a character like him before and I want to do it accurately and in a considerate way.

I donā€™t know if you have seen my introduction or not so Iā€™ll be briefā€¦.Iā€™m a full time barista trying to make time for writing, hanging with friends, learning Spanish, and watching the birds. šŸ˜Š

As far as emojis go, Iā€™m actually using my phone right now.

Hello!! (We suddenly just had a bombardment of people join KP! This is awesome!) Iā€™m Esther: a volleyball-playing, violin-squeaking, dog-obsessed, homeschooled, God-loving, amateur writer!!

My writing is all over the place. My WIP is YA dystopian, but I have ideas for a his-fic, biblical fiction, and contemporary. I also have a fantasy that I worked on a for a while. (it is currently set aside and not my top priority)

              I LOVE Yā€™ALLā€™S CHARACTERS (and stories =D) @godlyfantasy12@freedomwriter76 @loopylin @mineralizedwritings (if I didnā€™t tag you here itā€™s because I donā€™t accurately remember your tag and/or I havenā€™t seen your characters in action)

As for emojis, Iā€™m on my iPad, so thatā€™s how I can use them. šŸ™‚

I would love to hear about your WIP!!

              Questions!

              1. Dogs or cats? (Or neither? šŸ˜®)

              2. Would you rather own a dragon (yes, it flies and yes, you can ride on it) or a unicorn? (And the unicorn may be magicalā€¦ šŸ¦„)

              3. What is your favorite vacation spot that youā€™ve been to and why?

              4. If you could live in any country, which would it be and why?

So glad youā€™re here!! See ya around!!

                *inserts sheepish face*

Yeah, I was worried about that scaring people off… Sorry to weird you out. I originally started watching it cause y’all have really interesting stories and I wanted to get an account, it just took me awhile to gather enough courage to ask my parents about it.

I just like his name already XD

XD YES! Someone else with a similar brand of humor! If I ever get to it and finish it, I’d only recommend it to people who like puns and dad jokes, cause it’s gonna be full of them.

Oh, yes! I would love to here more!

I’m planning to do it as a comic (I don’t like the term ‘graphic novel’ cause it makes me think of extreme violence) or webcomic or both. Well, for plot I’m still working on it. I just know it’s a mystery that deals with the history of the country the main character is from and buried secrets. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that it’s at least going to be two books. I’ll make a topic about it later so I can explain more. (this post is already soooooo long XD)

                1. Oof, that’s hard. I like writing Teilo cause he’s an oldest (as am I) and we have similar struggles. So probably because he’s the easiest to understand? Although, I like writing the rest of the gang almost as much.

                2. Mwahahahaha. *mischeivous plotting hands*

                3. Anything that is true and leaves the reader (and me) with hope. But I really like themes of redemption, forgiveness, every life has a purpose, God never fails, etc.

                4. I tend to like music on a song by song basis, but I tend to listen to things from movie soundtracks, MercyMe, SidewalkProphets, Brandon Heath, For King & Country, Newsboys, Mandisa (whoever did Overcomer)

                @loopylin

This is adorable I love it. I would totally read this series (even though Iā€™m almost an adult lol)

                Thanks!

Are you on a computer? Iā€™m on an iPad so I think thatā€™s different.

Yes, I am on a computer.

Thatā€™s a great idea! I have a lot of adhd characters, one with depression, and a couple who I think have autism, but Iā€™m not sure. I think that forum would be super helpful.

Cool! I’ll do it, then. I have quite a few characters I think would benefit from this as well.

                1. XD this question is very hard. I think it’s a tie between all of the main gang. Teilo is my favorite because we have similar struggles and I relate to him. Evander is my favorite because he’s willing to learn and encourage others. Derek is my favorite because of the snark and one of his struggles is also something I struggled with at one point. Luca is my favorite because he’s adorable and hilarious and curious. I haven’t developed Ingrid enough to say she’s a favorite yet, but when I do I’m sure she’ll be on here. =)

                2. My favorite tv show is Thunderbirds Are Go. (Yes, I realize it’s main audience is below my age range, and it’s main villain is…not the greatest written villain. But I love the brother banter and the fact that they all have a decent relationship and they respect their grandma and look out for each other and they’re saving the world. Plus the fact that there’s a loyal, hilarious butler who knows crazy things because of his mis-spent youth.)

My favorite movie… hmmmm…. I really like Courageous, by the Hendrick brothers, all the Narnia movies, the original Spider-Man triology, and the Lord of the Rings movies.

                3. ….I’m still growing up (in age, not height)… but I really liked The Girl Who Could Fly. When I was younger, I didn’t recognize the feminist messaging (or understand it). Besides that, I still like it, mostly.

                @orielle21

Do you by any chance read or watch Tolkien? Just wondering what inspired your name. šŸ˜Š

I have done both. The name is actually a nickname of mine given to me by my dad. We were watching one of the Lord of the Rings movies, and I was wearing a robe. He thought it made me reminescent of Gandalf, so he mashed Gandalf with my real name, and thus I was knighted (wizarded?) Gwyndalf the Wise. =)

That would be super helpful for me because right now my current WIP is based on a real life situation in which the man has a mental illness of some kind. I have never written about a character like him before and I want to do it accurately and in a considerate way.

Cool! After I finish replying to everyone I’ll make it a topic.

I donā€™t know if you have seen my introduction or not so Iā€™ll be briefā€¦.Iā€™m a full time barista trying to make time for writing, hanging with friends, learning Spanish, and watching the birds. šŸ˜Š

I have, but honestly since sooooo many person have joined I have a hard time remembering which information goes to whom. I’ve learned some basic Spanish and forgotten it. I’ll probably be retaking it in the fall. Birds are cool. We currently have eight chickens. …what’s a barista? I have a feeling I should know this but I’m drawing a blank.

                1. I have no idea. I have weird dreams, but none of them are job-related. If you’re asking about future careers, I’m still unsure. Maybe comic (graphic novel) writer and illustrator + researcher?

                2. My favorite bird is the bluebird, both kinds. (Can’t remember if they’re eastern and western or northern and southern)

                @esther-c

Hello!! (We suddenly just had a bombardment of people join KP! This is awesome!) Iā€™m Esther: a volleyball-playing, violin-squeaking, dog-obsessed, homeschooled, God-loving, amateur writer!!

XD THE INVASION OF KP HAS BEGUN, MWAHAHAHAHA. I’m homeschooled too!

My writing is all over the place. My WIP is YA dystopian, but I have ideas for a his-fic, biblical fiction, and contemporary. I also have a fantasy that I worked on a for a while. (it is currently set aside and not my top priority)

Cool. I have read a couple of your YA dystopian chapters.

*hopes youā€™re also referring to my characters* Thanks!! XD

I do love Amidala. Ev… Ev confuses me. I think this is because (this is out of what I’ve read, I haven’t read all your chapters, I think I’ve only read to chapter five or six so far) he doesn’t use self-control, and this may be because of the role-models that he has (his parents). Any character/person in real life I really struggle to respect and enjoy their company if they do not demonstrate any self control. (This does not mean I think Ev is a terrible character. Please don’t take it like that.)

lol! I did the same thingā€¦ sshhā€¦ XD

XD *whisper shouts* INTERNET STALKERS UNITE!

                1. Sea turtles are the best. If you’re asking which is better, it depends on the individual animal. I’ve met dogs I’ve loved and dogs I’ve hated. I’ve met cat I’ve loved and cats I hated. Although I guess I have to side with dogs, since my parents are allergic to cats…

                2. Hmmmm. I’d probably go with unicorn. (Not that I have anything against dragons, I just have a really bad fear of heights, not to mention if it turned against me, I’d rather not become a BBQ.

                3. We went to Colorado. I like mountains and forests a lot, and it’s really quiet. Not to mention the sunsets are really pretty with few clouds to block it.

                4. I’m assuming this is if I couldn’t live in the country that I currently live in. I’d probably pick Israel. It would be really cool to see where events in the Bible take place, not to mention the climate is similar to where I live, and meditterean food is great. =)

                  Salutations!

Nice to meet you Iā€™m Folith-Feolin the brother of @otherworldlyhistorian. I am a public school student (grade 10) and an identical twin (my twin being the above-mentioned brother). I like quizbowl, am a history and internet nerd, I also collect odd trivia, and I like board/card/dice games and reading. I am working on a Lovecraftian adventure/mystery WIP and a board game. Although I do help out with worldbuilding and write poems/songs as well as the Appendix of my brotherā€™s main WIP the Karvian Anthology

(https://kingdompen.org/forums/topic/wip-idea-still-making-outline-for-kharvia-anthology-s1b1/) (that is the link to a forum explaining the KA)

I can inform you that to use emojis on a Chromebook the shortcut is Search (or Launcher Key) + Shift + Space. A forum on mentally ill/disordered/disabled characters would be a great Idea!

                  Questions:

                  1. Favorite board game?
                  2. Schlieffen plan or no Schlieffen plan?
                  3. What is a weird factoid I should know?
                  4. If you could only read books written by one author who would it be? (also no picking the Bible)

Oh, that’s great! That’s actually the final plan for my series too, if I ever get there. Webcomic or something similar. I never gave a second thought to the term “Graphic novel” until I started having to tell people I wanted to make one… then it dawned on me how bad it sounds XD.

                    1. Oof, thatā€™s hard. I like writing Teilo cause heā€™s an oldest (as am I) and we have similar struggles. So probably because heā€™s the easiest to understand? Although, I like writing the rest of the gang almost as much.

Okay as a person who loves listening to move soundtracks I have got to ask what is your favourite soundtrack to listen to?

                        @ folith-feolin

Nice to meet you Iā€™m Folith-Feolin the brother of @otherworldlyhistorian. I am a public school student (grade 10) and an identical twin (my twin being the above-mentioned brother). I like quizbowl, am a history and internet nerd, I also collect odd trivia, and I like board/card/dice games and reading. I am working on a Lovecraftian adventure/mystery WIP and a board game. Although I do help out with worldbuilding and write poems/songs as well as the Appendix of my brotherā€™s main WIP the Karvian Anthology

Cool. I think I’m older than you, barely. I’m homeschooled.

                        What does Lovecraftian mean?

I have read the worldbuilding topic that your brother started. I am impressed, it sounds really cool.

A forum on mentally ill/disordered/disabled characters would be a great Idea!

Cool! Thanks. I’m working on making it.

                        1. I like the Forbidden Island/Desert/Sky games, but I don’t know if they count as board games, so I’ll say Black Fleet.

                        2. I have no idea what a Schlieffen plan is, so I’m going to assume no.

                        3. A group of lemurs is called a conspiracy.

                        4. This question is hard. Probably C. S. Lewis, I could read fantasy, sci-fi, instructional, and books that encourage you. (I probably wouldn’t read his older writing)

And soundtracks… I like the Narnia movies’ music, WALLE, the Lord of the Rings (and Hobbit) music, Incredibles, and Cars

                        @mineralizedwritings

Oh, thatā€™s great! Thatā€™s actually the final plan for my series too, if I ever get there. Webcomic or something similar. I never gave a second thought to the term ā€œGraphic novelā€ until I started having to tell people I wanted to make oneā€¦ then it dawned on me how bad it sounds XD.

Heh. The other thing it reminds me of is geometry… We don’t talk about geometry…

Yeah, relatable characters are the best to write! I have at least one thing to relate to with each of my mcs, so I enjoy them all in that way.

Absolutely! I just have to be careful sometimes or I end up with characters that are fictionalized versions of myself. That’s why most of my main to main-ish characters are male, the female ones almost always end up being a carbon copy of myself. XD

yeah I love all those too! I havenā€™t listened to sidewalk prophets though. Have you heard Mandisaā€™s song ā€œstronger?ā€ I personally like it more than Overcomer, although both are awesome. Also, have a favorite fk&c song?

I don’t think I have. I’ll have to listen to it now. What’s fk&c? (I’m not great with remembering band names, I remembered the ones I listed earlier because I was listening to them this week.)

Lovecraftian is defined by google as: relating to or reminiscent of the work of the US fantasy and horror writer H. P. Lovecraft (Howard Phillips Lovecraft, 1890ā€“1937), especially in depicting monstrous, misshapen beings from another dimension or universe, often in sinister, antiquated New England settings.

Stranger Things, Arkham Horror, and Gravity Falls would be examples of things that are Lovecraftian.

My steampunk wip is much closer to gravity falls in terms of scariness than say something like stranger things (I have not watched stranger things but I have read a plot summary).

The interesting fact about lemurs was cool.

I do like the hobbit soundtrack I have been listening to Peter Hollens rendition of I See Fire recently.

Also forbidden desert/sky games definitely count as board games

I’ve never watched any of those, though I have friends that talk about Gravity Falls.

Steampunk is cool. I’ll have to research Gravity Falls to understand the level of scariness your story is.

The only ‘war’ I started was in third grade. It was over the reality of Santa Claus, so I don’t think it counts.

I do like the hobbit soundtrack I have been listening to Peter Hollens rendition of I See Fire recently.

I’ll have to look it up.

                                Hi there!!

Itā€™s nice to actually get to talk to yā€™all now. *mind wanders to memories of reading the forum for the past few monthsā€¦*
yikes that sounds kinda stalker-ish, sorry

XDXD girl, I’ve stalked this forum since March, (A little before my birthday), and I just now was old enough to join XD.
                                I think everyone does it.

                                I love Jesus. (obviously)

Jesus is amazing. I love Jesus too šŸ™‚

I really enjoy talking all things writing, but characters and arcs specifically.
Iā€™m autistic. So I if I ask yā€™all to rephrase or clarify a question, please donā€™t take it personally, I probably just donā€™t understand the way you asked it. *inserts nervous-laughter sweating teardrop face* XD actual emojis would be so helpful right now

Character and arcs are awesome!! I love talking about those too! No worries!! šŸ˜€ Oh, I would give you instructions on how to find emojis, but I think everyone has already covered that XD.

Fantasy and mystery are my favorites. Although I like most genres, except romance as the main plot, horror, and some thrillers/suspense that go too far.

I don’t like horror and scary suspenseful stories either. They’re too creepy :(I). But, it depends on the book if it’s romance. šŸ˜‰

                                XDXDXD That’s hilarious. Love it!!

My current work in progress is a mystery in a fantasy setting. (If you want more details youā€™re gonna have to ask, I could talk about it for awhile but I donā€™t want to dump information youā€™re not interested in.) also gotta maintain some sembilence

Oh, I would totally love to hear about it!! šŸ˜€

                                I LOVE Yā€™ALLā€™S CHARACTERS (and stories =D) @godlyfantasy12 @freedomwriter76 @loopylin @mineralizedwritings (if I didnā€™t tag you here itā€™s because I donā€™t accurately remember your tag and/or I havenā€™t seen your characters in action)

Oh yes, they have got some amazingly precious characters!! Haha, you probably haven’t seen mine around much, but thank you anyway! šŸ™‚

Yeah, we authors love putting our poor charries through it XDXD. That’s a really good idea!!

Until the next time. *eagerly awaits the queue of questions*

                                Okay, here we go!! XDXD

                                1. Which of your characters are most like you (personality, appearance, or other?)

                                2. If you could spend the day with three people (celebrities, writers, etc.) who would they be and what would you ask them?

                                3. What are your themes in your book?

Btw, I love your tag!! Lol, my dad does stuff like that all the time. Speaking of Lotr, your fourth question will be…

                                4. Who is your favorite character from Lotr?

                                5. If you could be anything from Lotr, (elf, hobbit, dwarf, human, giant, etc.) what would you be?

Anyways, it’s awesome to meet you, and I can’t wait to see you around!!

@lightoverdarkness6 ooh yea that would be a great forum topic to make!!

I made a topic for abuse for our charries that have been abused, just to talk about any tips for writing them accurately and such, so we donā€™t make it look glorified and such, and I think a forum topic on the anxiety and PTSD would be cool too!
