Those are great choices!! I think my favorite character is a tie between Maraly and Armulyn the Bard! Oh, I love Gammon (The Florid Sword) too!
Ooo, caramel! My favorite too!

January 13, 2023 at 2:56 pm #129026Hullo, and welcome to the Kingdom of Pen! It’s fantastic that you have been working on your novel consistently. I personally seem to be stagnating in the world-building stage. I don’t think I’ll even understand my story until I finish the Epic History™ of my world. In the meantime I have just decided to write a space-fantasy with dragons.
1. Do you like dragons?
2. At any point in your life have you liked tea over coffee?
3. Do you like science-fiction?
4. Why does the sister feel like she needs to prove herself by joining the navy? Prove herself to whom? (My curiosity has piqued.)
We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?
-The DoctorJanuary 13, 2023 at 3:54 pm #129032Greetings and welcome to the Kingdom of Pen! I’m called Elishavet around here, (also known by my Middle Earthian friends as the Rangeress Aenwest of the Morningstar. By those who know the Shining Isle, I’m a little historian living in Kigor, a town about two day’s travel from Rysen. Narnians know me as that nosy cloaked lass that frequents the Wood Between the Worlds, has since she was very small, and will probably never go away for good. Those of Araluen… Don’t know me, because I’m usually there on spy missions. The same goes for Mossflower. [You didn’t hear that.] And those of this world… Well, I’m a young amature author trying to serve her Lord and King whether by pen or by pencil. Or Children’s Church: that works too.)
There are two main worlds I am also known in, and am the historian of. (They’re commonly known as my two main WIPs.) Both are fantasy, although of slightly different types, since one is rather allegorical and the other isn’t really.
By the way, seeing you like medical history, (take warning) would you mind if I ended up bouncing a lot of medieval/ancient medicine questions your way? Hier of Ashes, my second WIP, involves a bit more medicine than I understand.
Like comas, Hypertrophic scars, and L4 paraplegia. (Or was it L5…?)
P.S. Is it obvious that I’m thrilled to meet another bookworm with such delightful taste in fictional worlds?
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan

My favorite book is The Hiding Place. I have heard of Redwall, though.
Favorite music group would be Rend Collective. I have listened to Andrew Peterson’s music I think a few times. My favorite sport is basketball:) I understand some writers aren’t the athletic type!!
January 13, 2023 at 11:21 pm #129103Hello and welcome to the world of the KeePers! I’m glad to meet another sister in Christ! I’m a home school graduate, a want-to-get-published-soon authoress, and a homesteader (think gardening, canning, etc..)
Your co-authored book about the two sisters sounds very interesting. I’m currently trying to finish book two in a medieval trilogy and research for a Historical Fiction novel about the Russo-Ukrainian war.
What is your favorite thing to bake?

I think my favorite movie is definitely a tie between Lord of the Rings and the Princess Bride XD. Hmm…the language question is hard, but I think I would love to master Gaelic! My favorite dessert is pie, hands down. I’m not exactly sure what my favorite thing about my instruments is, but I really love sharing my music for small audiences! As far as a random fact…I’m a descendant of the pilgrims on the Mayflower. And honestly, I’m not sure what my favorite thing to cook is, but I love making bread. 😉

January 15, 2023 at 4:35 pm #129215Hello!! Yes, I do like dragons, and there are many days where I prefer tea to coffee (I’m a sucker for a cup of Earl grey!) I haven’t ever done much in sci-fi, but I like to read it sometimes!
As for my story, the sister feels like she needs to prove herself to her parents. Her older sister is always the go-getter and the dare devil, and she feels as though her quiet ways can’t measure up. So, she does something she know her military father will be proud of, she joins the navy. I’m so glad it piqued your interest!

January 15, 2023 at 4:38 pm #129216Hello and it’s so nice to meet you! Your introduction was truly lovely and made me feel as though I already know you by the worlds you inhabit 😉
Your WIP sounds great to me just by the parts you described! You can hit me with ANY fictional medical questions, past or present time periods! I truly love discussing it! I look forward to reading your work and getting your feedback on mine too!

January 15, 2023 at 4:40 pm #129217Hi!! I love homesteading actives too! That’s really neat that you enjoy canning. I hope to do it more when I have my own house 😉 I think my favorite thing to make is probably any kind of bread! Nothing beats the smell of it baking in the house
Your WIP’s sound so neat! I can’t wait to read some of your work! I am also really interested/saddened by the Russo-Ukrainian war, so I would love to read some of that project!

"To death or to victory"
January 15, 2023 at 6:24 pm #129232Hey Landri! Welcome to Kingdom Pen! I’m theloonyone
I also babysit and play the piano, but I’m not very good at cooking and I’m a tea girl 🤣😁 Like everyone else here, I’m a writer (I’m currently heavily editing my novel), but I also love music, art, and nerding out on books and movies.
Anyway, newbie questions!
1. What kind of writing do you do? Do you have a favorite genre?
2. Stranded on an island. If you like music, what are five songs or five albums that you would want to have if you were stranded on an island? Basically top five, whether through quality or sentiment.
3. Stranded on an island but five books.
4. If you could make any activity an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?
Welcome to Kingdom Pen again! I hope to see you around!
January 15, 2023 at 6:58 pm #129235Earl grey is possibly the best beverage to be made by mankind.
Wow! That sister sounds a lot like one of my characters in one of my stories.
We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good on, eh?
-The DoctorJanuary 17, 2023 at 4:04 pm #129301I very much agree that baking bread is one of the best smells ever! I recently passed on the family bread making task to my younger sister, so I don’t get the privilege of doing it on a weekly bases anymore. 😉 But I love making biscuits and desserts as well.
Yes, the war is very sad. I had the idea for the book the first month it started, because I wanted to share the story of two teen girls’ everyday experiences and emotions during a modern war. I posted a few chapters on a topic called Russo-Ukrianian War Novel- Please Critique if you want to read it. (And you don’t have to critique it if you don’t want to.)
He must increase, but I must decrease.
January 18, 2023 at 8:53 pm #129419I finally found the thread, @landric! XD I feel like I should ask you questions now, too!
1. What is your favorite part of the writing process?
2. When did you first read Redwall?
3. What is your favorite writing related memory?
January 19, 2023 at 12:16 am #129421First off, sorry this is so late. (Oh, the tremor of horror when one realizes one never responded… XD) I struggle to keep up with conversations on here because of a quirk with the notifications… And I am a little forgetful.
However! Thank you, and I’m so glad you liked it! The worlds we visit do tell much about us, as do the ones we chronicle.
And, YAY!! I shall definitely be asking you a lot. XD I mean, it’s one thing to know how early a premature infant can survive in our days, but that doesn’t help much in the early Medieval ages. It is interesting though.
Yes, I’ll be looking forward reading some of yours as well! And feedback will be greatly appreciated for mine.
