Hello!
My name is Ariana I am 17 years old dual enrolling high school senior and currently pursuing my mechanical engineering degree with a minor in music.
I love to work with my hands, and I try to master any craft I can get my hands on, but my absolute favorites are: Writing (obviously 😛), woodworking, music (Piano, guitar, mandoline…), world building, linguistics, drawing, and bookbinding.
I have always looked at my passion for diverse interests as a deficit, but since discovering world building I am learning how to apply any interset that I have to my world! For instance, developing music in cultures allows me to work on my world and have an outlet for me to grow my musicality.
One LAST Thing…
A little over two years ago my friend began writing a story and roped me into it 😀 It is based in the not-so-far future, where you watch a group of childhood friends and family drafted into war and a world full of uncertainties, brokenness, fear, and mistrust. Our greatest goal with it is to depict the growth, struggles, and even separation of faith that teens and young adults may face throughout their life through our different characters’ arches. All while trying to craft the story in a way where we could reach unbelievers as well.
This particular project is probably going to be the majority of the works and inquiries that I post in the future.
Can’t wait to create with you all!
Soli Deo Gloria!

@_delta-leigh_ Howdy, and welcome to the Kingdom of Pen! ‘Tis a veritable pleasure to meet you!
I have a few questions, if you don’t mind…
- Do you have any favorite books/authors?
- What’s your favorite music/songs–to listen to and play?
- Do you like cookies?
- Marvel or DC?
- Favorite thing to draw? (Also, any tips for an amateur?)
- What led you to mechanical engineering? (I think that’s so cool, by the way…)
- Have you written anything in the past?
Otherwise, I love the sound of yours and your friend’s story! If you want, you can join the WIP chat (like, a couple topics below yours…) and tell us all about it! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions either, because we love toÂ

Did you say drawing, linguistics, bookbinding, and music? Those are some of my favorite things too! Along with writing of course. What languages do you know/ are learning?
It’s great that you get to write with your friend. I love to write with a few of my siblings. Have you ever written with someone before? What does your writing process look like when writing with someone else?
And before I sign off, it’s awesome to have you here!
December 9, 2020 at 8:31 pm #87764Hey there! You sound like a fascinating person! I’d love to hear more about your mechanical engineering and your woodworking? What sort of things do you make? I really want to get into leather working but I’ve never tried doing any sort of woodwork. and bookbinding obviously sounds awesome!
Who are some of your favourite authors?
INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
December 9, 2020 at 8:55 pm #87766@_delta-leigh_ Hiya, welcome to the Kingdom!
Your hobbies all sound really interesting. I also enjoy music, and if I had more time, there would be a lot of other things I’d like to do for fun. Alas, I don’t.
I see that most here have already covered the usual bulk of questions, so…
Do you mind sharing anything about your WIP? Anything about the world?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know

1. I love Andrew Peterson and his Wingfeather saga, mostly because of the perspective he writes in, Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye’s Left Behind-Kids for their character arcs, and The Hungar Games for the attention to detail and world building. (Just to name a few….)
2. I love to play Irish folk songs on my mandolin, and on piano, I play anything from the Getty’s hymns to movie compositions to classical music.
3. Cookies are great I have to pass on the gingerbread though unless it is being used for architecture. 😛
4. Marvel all the way, though there are few DC comics that I appreciate the layout of…
5. I like to draw scenes from my stories since the picture is so clear in my head already. As a beginner just copy! Copy pictures movie scenes anything. That try and draw objects from your mind, and if you run into something you cant then research photos of it from every angle and study it.
6. I always had a deep interest for how anything works. When I was little I used to take apart anything to see their inner workings old electronics, kitchenware, etc.. So I guess you could say becoming an engineer is almost a favor to my mother so I don’t have to take her toasters apart anymore….
7. I began two stories when I was younger but none of them stuck. I am currently working on a story of my own called “True Friends” which actually crosses over with my friend’s story just a little bit. Also once my world is done I hope to make a compilation of short stories within it.
December 10, 2020 at 9:56 am #87770So my friend’s and I’s styles are different; she is constantly making a fantasy world and I am trying to make it more realistic. But this is not a setback, in fact, it balances us out perfectly! I would say the best thing we have done for co-writing is bought two notebooks; we each take one home and whenever a scene, character, plot, or story element of any kind comes up, we write it down in our notebook. Then every week or so we switch books and start the whole process over. This really helps to keep our juices flowing during the school year then when we have a break we review the ideas together.
The language I am most proficient in is French, however, I love the sounds and inner workings of Turkish and Saami.
As far as woodworking goes I will do anything from building furniture for around the house to wood burning. It is kinda hard to pinpoint but in the past, I have made jewelry, desks, sheet music holders, cabinets, wands (and other cosplay props), and a Talharpa, which is a Norwegian instrument.
I guess the only constant is that I just want to try everything!

@_delta-leigh_ Ooh…I love the Left Behind Kids series too–read it nearly three times when I was seven or eight!
How’s a chocolate peppermint cookie sound?
Thanks for the advice! I’m finding that I’m best at drawing flowers, trees, etc., than I am straight lines or people/animals.
Yep, definitely a favor for your mom! 😉
Cool! What’s your fantasy world like?
December 11, 2020 at 1:22 pm #87785The notebook switch you do with your friend is really cool. I’ve never thought of doing that before but I really want to try that now.
I can definitely relate to wanting to try EVERYTHING out. It sometimes feels like I gain a new hobby every week. XD
Scenes and characters from stories are my favorite thing to draw as well! Art can sometimes tell stories in ways that words cannot. I’ve been meaning to share some of my sketches in the “art” forum topic for awhile now because there’re a lot of people on here who like to draw as well as write. It would be cool to share our art work with each other.
