I’ve never heard of Fire and Ash but it sounds very interesting. what’s it about?
Yeah, I liked it a lot! It was the first fantasy series that popped into my head besides Narnia. It’s about a sort-of-exiled princess and her magical fire horse who ends up saving her kingdom. (Go look it up and read the way better blurb, lol.)
Cool! Good question… lol. I have not written much in a while since school started (I’ve been pretty busy) but I have two… mostly.
Eidar is the one I’ve actually really written on, and it’s at about 15k. I have restarted it once though lol. It’s about a teen girl, Noa, who travels with her pilot father across the planets of the Federation, but their ship is attacked midway through a flight and crash lands on an uninhabited jungle planet. Her father is killed in the crash, and Noa and the survivors have no way to contact anyone/leave.
Then my other one, which is in the thinking/processing stage, was titled The Color of Hope (I don’t know if I’m keeping the name, though.) It’s in the slight future (50ish years from now) and it’s about a girl who’s a part of the underground church, and her twin brother who doesn’t believe. It’s about standing up for your faith.
1) Have you ever copied something from another book or movie or something?
Okay, not exactly copied, but for sure I have taken inspiration and stolen ideas from other fiction. Probably mostly names though, haha.
II) Have you ever started a story or poem (that had a really good plot or idea) but never finished or started it?
Oh man… I have so many old WIPs. I don’t know how you do it @ellette-giselle 😅 I’ll get started on something, then get sidetracked and end up not finishing it. But who knows, maybe I’ll come back to some of them someday.
C) What is your favorite book and author?
Children of the Consortium series by Cathy McCrumb, any books by Nadine Brandes, and the Looking Glass Chronicles by Sara Ella. Anne of Green Gables & Emily of New Moon, and Little Women.
4) Do you prefer to describe your characters then draw them/have someone else draw them OR describe them in your story but don’t draw them?
I can’t draw, so I’ll usually just describe them—BUT I have had some lovely people here on KP draw them for me. Or occasionally I use pictures from the web.
V) When is the best time for you write/draw/be creative or when is your favorite time?
Afternoon/evening is the only time that I usually write, after school and other stuff is done. Sometimes on weekends or during the summer, the morning.
F) Has an author you like ever did something in there story where you got mad a them? (for example like they make a character die or become evil!)
Definitely. No specific examples are coming to mind, but so many times.
7) finally the lords number, what’s your religion? (if you have one, which your probably do because your on here)
Christianity 😊

October 9, 2024 at 10:41 am #1871081) Have you ever copied something from another book or movie or something?
Do you expect me to answer that? That’s plagiarism! *Gasp* I have written/am writing several fanfics, so there’s a safe “Yep I stole that”.
II) Have you ever started a story or poem (that had a really good plot or idea) but never finished or started it?
Yes. Many. Both never started writing and never finished.
C) What is your favorite book and author
Good gravy. I can never pick just one. Or two. So here’s a breakdown by favorite genre: His-fic, Men of Iron; Children’s Fantasy, Narnia or Mistmantle; Classic Fantasy Lord of the Rings; Classic literature, Persuasion; non-fiction, And God Was There.
4) Do you prefer to describe your characters then draw them/have someone else draw them OR describe them in your story but don’t draw them?
I usually just describe them and don’t really think about a face claims unless one of the amazing people here decides to draw one. *Nods at Ellette and Elishavet* But as a middle-grade author, I am hoping to have my books illustrated upon publishing.
V) When is the best time for you write/draw/be creative or when is your favorite time?
Hahahaha–we’re supposed to have a set time? *Chews lip*
F) Has an author you like ever did something in there story where you got mad a them? (for example like they make a character die or become evil!)
Oh, so many authors. So, so many. S. D. Smith made me furious over a certain pudgy rabbit’s death.
7) finally the lords number, what’s your religion? (if you have one, which your probably do because your on here)
I… don’t know what this is? Since others here mentioned denomination, I’m Apostolic Pentecostal.
Bonus Do you think Elizabeth should be locked away forever? there is a correct answer.
If you mean Queen Elizabeth I ABSOLUTELY. She killed Mary Queen of Scott’s, and Lady Jane Grey, and had some really weird things going on in court, plus a bunch of other stuff.
If you mean some other Elizabeth…No?

October 9, 2024 at 3:59 pm #187163Hey Kefa! And welcome to Kingdom Pen!!
I’m Esther: a volleyball-playing, violin-squeaking, dog-obsessed, homeschooled, fiction-writing, God-loving teen girl!
Oh yesss!! I love the Wingfeather Saga too! Which I guess brings me to the first of my list of questions!
1. What’s your favorite book and/or scene from WFS?
2. Who’s your favorite character you’ve ever written/created and why? What are they like?
3. What’s your WIP about?
4. Nutella or peanut butter?? (Answer wisely….)
And I apologize if I’m asking questions that have already been asked! 🫣
Nice to meet you and hope to see ya around!! 👋

October 9, 2024 at 4:09 pm #187167Oooh, I love when I get to answer questions too!! 🤪
1) Have you ever copied something from another book or movie or something?
On purpose, yes. But not like in a plagiarizing kind of way. Just like taking the idea or the concept. In fact, one time I meant to craft a character based loosely off of one from a show, but the story ended up turning into something totally different!
II) Have you ever started a story or poem (that had a really good plot or idea) but never finished or started it?
I’m not sure if it counts as a really good plot idea… 🤣 At the time I thought it was good, but where I’m at right now concerning writing, it’s just not working out. I’ve finished the first book in the trilogy (sort of…), but the others have been put on indefinite hold, lol.
C) What is your favorite book and author
Oyyy, ummmm, I have multiple!!!
My favorite authors are Andrew Peterson and Robin Jones Gunn.
And my favorite books are The Wingfeather Saga and literally any books by Robin Jones Gunn (it’s hard to have a favorite from her!).
4) Do you prefer to describe your characters then draw them/have someone else draw them OR describe them in your story but don’t draw them?
If someone offers to draw them, (like here on KP), then I’ll totally jump on it, but I’m not the greatest artist so I simply let my characters’ appearances live in the minds of myself and my readers. XD (Although I do gather reference pics from the internet)
V) When is the best time for you write/draw/be creative or when is your favorite time?
Honestly it depends. It used to be the afternoon after school, but summer and the beginning of the school year and volleyball have totally thrown me off! My bouts of creativity come and go, but I do think the afternoon or the evening work best for me.
F) Has an author you like ever did something in there story where you got mad a them? (for example like they make a character die or become evil!)
Oohh, umm…. I’m not sure. Nothing that I can particularly remember! Oh wait! Actually yes, in one of my favorite series the MC dated a total jerk. I know that sounds so not dramatic, but I was very invested in the story. 🤣
7) finally the lords number, what’s your religion? (if you have one, which your probably do because your on here)
Christianity! To be specific, probably either Independent Baptist or Nondenominational.

October 9, 2024 at 4:11 pm #187168Hello there!
You can call me Linus. I enjoy writing/drawing Christian fantasy. My current work in progress is The Narrow Path Trilogy (or TNPT). A fantasy series in some ways similar to The Wingfeather Saga about redemption, faith, and the trials that come with it. I also double as a student in Web Design/Computer Software development and a Sunday School teacher.
Hmm. Seems a lot of people beat me to asking you newby questions, so I’m just going to ask some and hopefully not repeat any.
Ahem!
What are you currently working on writing?
What book or movie could you quote the most?
What do you like to draw?
What is your favourite Animal?
