My name is Carilyn and I’m 22. I’ve been writing since I was little and have written many short stories, a few novels and poems, and blog posts. I self published a novel this year titled “Reflection” under the name C. Everett. Most of my writing nowadays is done during NaNoWriMo, but now I think I need to change my tactic and try my hand at outlining, because my most recent writings are not very useful or interesting. They’re the type of things that you end up writing just to get words down, or for yourself, but not for sharing. I’d like each novel that I publish to be better than the last, and I’m pretty sure that will mean putting more work into my writing than I have before.
Most of the time nowadays I’m not writing, but I have a project in mind that I’m hoping to get started on eventually (hopefully soon). I work as a caregiver. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. I’d like to live in the country someday. I have other ideas of what I’d love to do with my life, and I’m just trying to make progress towards goals and dreams while still being open to whatever God has for me, even if it’s not what I would choose for myself. It’s sort of thrilling when you know you are making progress, even if it’s small and gradual, and you’re actually headed in the direction that you want your life to go.
I think I heard about this site a while ago, but haven’t really looked into it a whole ton before now (that I remember). But now I see there are forums, so I’d like to check it out a bit more. 🙂
I suppose there’s a lot more that could be said, but it’s hard to know what is best to say. I’m looking forward to meeting some folks through this site. 🙂

Wow, you self-published your novel? Congratulations!August 14, 2015 at 9:43 am #4326I find outlining very helpful when I am writing, so I have a basic idea of what is going to happen and can build suspense earlier into the story.
INTJ - Inhumane. No-feelings. Terrible. Judgment and doom on everyone.

Outlining has definitely helped me as well, and it’s so awesome you have self-published!
And I know what you mean about struggling with pursuing your goals and yet also having faith and trusting God. Must be an early 20s thing. Haha!
I hope you enjoy it here!
