      Hi everyone, I’m Ribbon Ash. I’m so glad to have finally joined this community!

      I write fantasy and a bit of dystopian here and there among my fantasy ideas. My current novel is an dystopian about a young male cyborg who struggles to live after the war.

        @ribbonash Hello! Welcome to the Kingdom! We’re so glad you’re here!

        Oo, your WIP sounds super interesting!

        Let’s see, some questions…

        1. What other hobbies do you have besides writing?

        2. What are some of your favourite books/authors/movies?

        3. Any favorite desserts?

        4. Pineapple on pizza? Yes or no?

        Lately, it's been on my brain

          Hi! Wonderful to have you on the forum!

          I love your profile picture! Did you happen to draw it yourself? I love to draw characters almost as much as I like to write them. XD

          Your WIP sounds really interesting. What inspired the idea for it?

                Hi! Thank you!

                Thanks! I’m so glad you think so!!

                Wow, good questions! I love them!

                1. Does reading and blogging count as hobbies? Cause are the only things I consistently do besides writing. They take up a lot of my time so I like to think of them as hobbies!

                2. I got so many! Okay, for books, The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, The Queen’s Rising Duology by Rebecca Ross, An Uncertain Choice Series by Jody Hedlund, The Evaporation of Sofi Snow by Mary Weber, The Traitor’s Game by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, The Memory Thief by Lauren Mansy, The Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill, Fawkes by Nadine Brandes. This not all of them, just a few! XD I probably listed too many, but I adore these books and they must be mentioned. And not mentioning the others just means I have self-control and not that I don’t adore books as much the rest! XD Okay, authors are Nadine Brandes, Rebecca Ross, Hope Ann, Abbie Emmons, Marissa Meyer and Leigh Bardugo. And movies… I’m just going to say Disney and Marvel, since I love most of the moves from those.

                3. Ice cream, cheesecake, panna cotta.

                4. Yes. I adore pineapple on pizza.

                  @ribbonash Reading is lit! I don’t blog, but I know several people on here who do!

                  Those are a lot of books! I’ve read maybe 3 or 4 of them and heard of most. Hope Ann is great! I’ve talked to her sometimes online. And Disney is quite classic. Marvel I have not gotten really into, but a lot of my friends love it.

                  I love ice cream and cheesecake! I have not tried panna cotta, but I will have to do so in the future!

                  Yes, Team Pineapple!

                  Okay, let me think of a couple of more questions to keep us occupied…

                  1. What’s your favorite part of the writing process?

                  2. What do you love in a book?

                    @kathleenramm

                    Hello! *waves* Thank you! It is wonderful to be here!

                    Thank you! No, I didn’t. I can’t draw that well. It is by one of my best friends, who was so nice as to draw one of my being species from one of my WIPs! I ask so to have that extra inspiration for how I imagine them to look like. I adore it so much that I made it my profile picture everywhere!

                    Thank you! Several things. 1. Lunar Chronicles. 2. My new-found obsession of cyborgs and the Dystopian setting (which came from reading the Lunar Chronicles). 3. Smoke. 4. Getting a scene which made all of the other ideas above bloom into a story. Most of that scene doesn’t fit with the story anymore, but it sparked this WIP to life.

                    @issawriter7

                    YES! It took me foreverrrrrrrrr. HAHA, it is literally impossible for you, but I don’t mind at all. Keep on mentioning Smoke. XD THANK YOU! *takes cake* Oh, cool, bring on the questions!

                    1. I don’t know, but definitely none of mine! XD

                    2. A Time to Die? I’m not sure it is the coolest but it is pretty cool!

                    3. wish 1: Get all of the books I want to read without paying for them. Wish 2: Go to Japan without paying. Wish 3: Make Smoke real (though I’ll probably regret doing that XD)

                    *waves back* Me too!!!!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!!!!!

                    @mkfairygirl

                    Hello, hello, hello! *waves excitedly back* Oh, that’s so cool! We can be newbies together! Yay, awesome. Fantasy is my imagination child. *hugs it* Aww, thank you so much! Yes, it is, no doubt about it! (Haha, I think Smoke *is* getting pretty famous over at Teen Writers’ Nook!) Oh, yay, I can’t wait to slowly share more about it here! Feel free to ask any questions about it! Oh, good question! Definitely creating worlds, characters and plot! It is hands down the part I find the most joy in. I love getting ideas and filling in the holes bit by bit.

                      @devastate-lasting

                      Yes, reading! Fair enough. Blogging is a lot of work and you need a lot of passion to do it. I would stop blogging if I didn’t love it so much. Also the blogging community is amazing! Everyone is so nice and they post great reading material!

                      Hehe. Oh, which ones? Yeah, most of them are pretty popular in the reading community, especially in the ones I wander around in. Oh, that’s so awesome! I haven’t really talked to her yet, but I hope that I will in the future. All good, Marvel is definitely not for everyone. My sister watched all of them (not including TV shows or Deadpool or Venom or The Incredible Hulk) but she doesn’t care much about them as I do.

                      Yes, they are the best! Panna Cotta is so good that you really need to try it sometime!

                      Team Pineapple!

                      Ooo, more questions! Love it.

                      1. The brainstorming stage. I love brainstorming in my head so much that sometimes I think it makes the actual writing the story down part harder.

                      2.  Characters and plots. To me they are so entwined with each other in a lot of ways that I find that a good story needs to have good characters as well as plot for me to truly enjoy it. One or the other may make the story entertaining but not good. I can enjoy a story with okay characters or okay plot but that story would be kinda of flat or missing a too important piece to me.

                        Okay!! Then I shall continue my endless ramble and fangirling over Smoke!!!!! HE’S AWESOME!!!

                        Oooooh, AWESOME answers!!!!! Also, I WANT THOSE WISHES TO COME TRUE SOOOO BADLY!!!!! Well, I don’t really care all that much to go travel to other countries but it’d be the MOST EPICEST THING IF SMOKE WAS REAL!!!!!!! LOL!! Yeah, some people might regret that choice but I wouldn’t!

                          Aww, thanks! I know I said that so many times but your obsession for Smoke is so heart-warming! <3

                          Thanks! SAME! Me too to be honest. I don’t really want to travel at all. But it would AWESOME to be able to Japan so I can write Smoke’s story better! Setting my current story in Japan was an act of brilliance and stupidity on my part. XD I knew you would love that answer! But, seriously, I will regret it so much just as the creator of him if Smoke became real. Can you just imagine the hardships I would experience with him? Even the older, mature version of him isn’t appealing to me. XD

                            @ribbonash I’ve read Six of Crows, A Monster Calls, and Fawkes before.

                            Brainstorming is really fun! I love it too!

                              Oh, cool! Those books are SO good! To me at least. It is totally fine if you didn’t enjoy them or love them as much as I do.

                              Awesome! I’m certain all writers love brainstorming in some form! I have never heard of one who honestly hates the whole process. What is your favourite part of the writing process?

                              They are so important! The more I write, the more I realise that. What about you? What do you love in a book? What makes a story good for you?

                              Oh, yes, I will! I’d love to join in answering the question of the week if I can and other things! Oh, I won’t! Here’s another question for you: What is your current WIP?

                                @ribbonash My favorite part would be the moment when you finish drafting a project! It feels so satisfying, and it’s lovely to take a break before editing!

                                I really value endings for stories! Endings and prose. I think that the ending can make or break a book for me.

                                Oh yes! QOTW is honestly one of the best threads! I look forward to it every week!

                                Ah, I have several WIPs going on right now, including some fantasies, time travels…

                                Here’s the synopsis for one of them, Like Cherry Blossoms in the Spring, My Tears Fell Freely That Day:

                                Someone has been illegally buying an anti-aging elixir, and detective Guo Jingke is on the case. For himself and for his father, he will stop at nothing to put the culprit behind bars again.

                                Former mob boss Ling Nai has started his life again. He wants something, but nobody knows what. Only that the wings of avarice still overshadow him…

                                The flowers were blooming, but just as quickly, they fell.

                                  Hi! Welcome to Kingdom Pen! I follow your awesome blog XD

                                  Also, I noticed that To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is not in your list of books. YOU. HAVE. TO. READ. IT!!! I annoy everyone on here with that, so you’re not alone. I really hope no one is getting sick of it, but. READ. IT! It will change your life. Seriously, no book has changed me more than that one. After I finished it I cried not only because of how beautiful it was, but because I knew I would never find any book I would love more. It’s a one-of-a-kind.

                                  But I’d better stop, ’cause I can lecture about Mockingbird all day long if I were allowed 😂 See ya around the Kingdom!
