Here is my submission, please do not throw up, I know it is bad… It is based off my favorite character from Dandy’s world, and uh, his name is Sprout. Uhm, ik it is bad, plus his leaf part was supposed to be green, but my three colors were brown, orange, and red ? so I get that it is bad… but I am sorry in advanced.
I know, I know, I know… it is lopsided, uneven, horribly sketched, lazy, the coloring is out side of the lines, and it’s lighting is garbage. Sorry ?
Here’s mine! Also thank you @rae for making this, it actually pushed me and I feel like I did something new : )
I made the pose myself (With the help of some anatomy references, struggled a bit with it lol). Anyways here’s Gojo Satoru from JJK.

Ooh that looks cool! The mid green for shadows looks so perfect, it’s like the background color reflecting into the shadow.

Oh my goodness I’m so sorry! Well in the past when I’ve been active here there’s usually only about 2-3 guys active, sometimes none, I guess it was just an assumption. I think I assumed based of of how you write messages, but that’s just because a lot of the guys I’ve known on here don’t post much and type messages like how you would write a essay (Hardly any emojis, boring ikr?) . Not all of them though of course.

Ooh those seem great! I Haven’t seem cowboy bebop or ghibli but I’ve heard great things about both, I definitely want to watch more Ghibli in the future. I haven’t heard of 86 before, but it looks like it gets good reviews so maybe I’ll have to check it out!
I’ve watched Haikyuu (the manga is better!), Blue lock (s1 was great hate s2!) Frieren Beyond Journey’s End, Apothecary diaries, and a Chinese Donghua called Link Click (best thriller ever, could hardly sleep after S2 ?). I’m in the middle of the Vinland saga and I’ve been watching somebody on youtube react to Jujutsu kaisen. I like reaction videos because the watermark they use covers the screen and makes the gore less offensive lol, idk If I could watch it straight and I’m definitely skipping some stuff.
I wouldn’t recommend most of the shows above to other people unless I knew what they were comfortable with, it’s just stuff I’ve enjoyed (I do skip scenes when I have to still lol). But I’m over 18 and definitely glad I waited till I was older to watch some of them š

lol! yeah, I am still under eighteen, and can’t really watch shows with intense gore/fan service/swears. Like I watched cowboy bebop with my older sister and brother, and they told me to look away at parts XD. Studio Ghibli film are either PG, or PG 13 so I don’t really need any parental guidance while watching those. (If you really want to get depressed I suggest you watch grave of the fire flies from Studio Ghibli… XD…. ?)
I am still watching 86, and it hasn’t been too bad, some moderate profanity, and the only real “service” I have seen was a bunch of girls (they were still fully dressed) playing around in water, you’d have to see the scene why I call it “service” but it has been fairly clean.
That is why I don’t watch anime too often though ??

Of course you can use references!!!! I know you already posted your art, but I wanted to let you know this for the future. Wow, that looks gorgeous! As @whalekeeper said, drawing roses at angles is hard, and even though the angle is a little off, I think it looks awesome, well done!

Hey thatās very stylized! To be fair, roses are difficult to draw at the right angle, and I think you did a great job.

I think it’s 13+. I got really into sports anime for awhile because the lack of girls made it more appropriate ??.
Idk if this helps but when I’m getting into a new anime, usually I look up the show plus ‘parents guide’ and usually that gives me all I need to know about whether or not I could watch it.

Totally fair! It’s interesting how shows from different countries differ. There’s a lot of junk in anime that wouldn’t fly with a general American audience, but imo there’s a lot of poor quality writing/art in shows here that wouldn’t sell in Japan.

The only reason why girl characters are in it half the time is for service ? That is why I like the main girl from 86 ( I am going to reference that a lot XD) she is…. how do I put I??? She has a … flatter chest… I hope that isn’t inappropriate XD uhm… but yeah, she is modest. And mainly male casts Ā never really have service.
I would watch sports anime, but I just don’t like watching sports… so why watch an anime about it? Lol, I understand why you did that tho!

I love their movies! I haven’t watched the boy and the heron before, but I will find time and tell you how it is! And yes, I would never recommend Grave Of the Fireflies to anyone who doesn’t want to sit in their room and stare at the wall, and question everything… mainly why the aunt was one of the most despicable persons to ever walk Japan.

@the_lost-journal @mineralizedwritings yeah I have no idea what it is with cartoons. Japanese cartoons are so cute/made to look attractive and appeal to teenagers itās annoying. And then American cartoons are often deliberately the ugliest things on the face of the earth for some reason.
Whatever happened to just drawing characters?
also yes, every time I try to find a decent character base to draw over (especially female ones cause Iām trying to practice them), I get spammed with five million anime ones with chests that are way too much, especially considering what my characters will be wearing. Like, come on. My charrieās wearing a vest, even if she had that much curvature (which she doesnāt cause I DELIBERATELY designed this character to NOT be that) it wouldnāt show through cause what sheās wearing. Plus I donāt draw in that style anyway.
