All of you said you were interested, so here’s the topic!
I think we can shoot for a new challenge every week, but if people have any trouble with that, we’ll go to every two.
I have a couple ideas for the first art challenge, if you’d like to vote on which one we do first. If no one votes, I’ll just pick one. If you can’t participate, plz let me know. Plz vote by Monday night.
A.Β the pause art challengeΒ You’ll probably have to look this up on YouTube to understand what it is, but basically you create a character by pausing a video as it cycles through gender, skin, eyes, mouth, hair, outfits, and accessories.Β Each video may vary in categories and beware that some videos related to this challenge have scanty outfits shown. This challenge is for more stylized art styles, so if you do realistic and don’t feel like stepping into the world of stylization, this probably isn’t for you.
B. the three marker challenge This one is one I’ve done by myself before and I find it really fun. You basically choose three marker colors and create a piece of art coloring with basically only those three colors (black markers, white for highlights, and pencil for sketching is not included in the three colors). The point is to help you learn color theory and how to work with a very limited pallet. Ofc, if we do this one, you don’t have to do just markers, you can do three colors of any medium you’d like, the principal is the same.
C. Mark Crilleys’ realistic art challenge This one sounds pretty simple, but will probably be a lot harder than the other two challenges: you take an item (preferably small enough to sit on your paper next to your drawing) and draw it as realistically as possible.
D. Pen challenge Make a drawing using only pen, no pencil
If anyone has some other challenges they’ve seen and would like to do, let me know π

We are doing theΒ three marker challenge!!!!!!!
If this timeline works out, I’ll post new challenges to vote on Saturdays and we will have our next challenge to work on by Monday night/Tuesday. If you haven’t done a drawing by Saturday, that’s 100% fine, I’m just posting the new challenges then so that we can keep things going smoothly. Also, feel free to drop out of the challenge at any point in time, just plz let us know if you’ve already said you would do it.
New challenge ideas welcome π
Have fun!!!!!! I look forward to seeing what everyone does.

#AnduthForever (π)March 25, 2025 at 10:49 am #200679So I got bored this morning and just decided to do my artwork for the challenge now. I might do another one later
I use a white pencil to try and do the ripples, and I outlined everything in black. Otherwise, everything was made up from the three colors I have to the side there. It came out better than I expected, and I’m pretty happy with it π

#AnduthForever (π)March 25, 2025 at 10:50 am #200680it is so not a perfect square

#AnduthForever (π)March 25, 2025 at 12:14 pm #200689Yay……
*begins to draw*
*loves the lineart*
*scared to color*
Um, black doesn’t count… even if I have to use it a lot, right? I have my three colors, but my picture needs a lot of black, and for more than outlines and such… does that break the rule??
Also yours is really pretty!! I love it so much!! π
If you pluck them, they explode. Goro.
March 25, 2025 at 12:19 pm #200691*Immediately starts drawing* I thought this was going to weigh on me somehow but I’m actually motivated. XD
Oh yeah, I’m using an extra amount of black too. For hatching. Same question as above. ^

March 25, 2025 at 12:20 pm #200692Oh yeah, and good job Ruth!! (I still call you Rae in my head, lol.) I like the faint fish underwater, and your dedication to the traditional markers. I can’t use markers for the life of me.
