Hey people. *tips hat grinningly*
There’s this book I just read called Eats, Shoots and Leaves, by Lynn Truss. It’s non-fiction—about punctuation. But it’s not a long or dull read at all, and is funny and very informative/helpful. Especially for people like writers who’d use punctuation more than usual. 😉
The only objection would be: it has a very minor sprinkling of bad words and not incredibly clean humor throughout, but it’s nothing serious. Overall, I recommend it highly and I’m sure it’d be real helpful.I’m going to be serious and use the all-tags list.

@Kate-Flournoy, your name is not on this list. *raises eyebrows* But I guess I don’t really need to tag you for this. Anyway, it’s on the list now.June 17, 2017 at 1:41 pm #35293@Emma-Flournoy, I’ve read it! I have it on my shelf, actually. I used to read it for fun, before I knew I was a writer. And some of the bad humour is stuff I didn’t understand until I went to college, so it’s probably safe for young folk as long as they don’t go quoting stuff they’re not sure about. (It is quotable, which is unusual for its category.)

June 17, 2017 at 7:16 pm #35318@Northerner I thought you had. 😀 Good, isn’t it.
June 18, 2017 at 2:13 am #35340We have that book. We have two copies, but they’re different. I haven’t bothered reading them through yet, but one of them looks like it’s cleaner, targeted to kids. I don’t know, though. I haven’t read either of them. 😛
June 18, 2017 at 12:54 pm #35346@Emma-Flournoy Oh great, all we need is our little grammar Nazi reading a book on grammar. 😉 Seriously though, I may just check that out. Grammar is something I pretend to know but secretly hate…

June 19, 2017 at 12:18 pm #35410@Leumeister Well, they’d probably be good. 😀
@Ethryndal *brandishes red sword with maniacal cackling* Muahahahaha.
BUT actually, it’s punctuation. Not grammar. Big difference. 😉 Grammar deals with the words and sentence structure and stuff…punctuation is that group of little black marks that make holes all over the page. *solemn nod* But yeah. It’s helpful.June 19, 2017 at 12:21 pm #35412@emma-flournoy Pfft. *waves hand dismissively* Words, holes, it’s all the same.
