The sad departure of our editor-in-chief, @aratrea, inspired me to write a poem to commemorate our time with him and our hopes for his future.
Dubbed the “wiser” of our group,
A frog upon his head,
He led us into worlds unknown,
As he blazed the trail ahead.He blessed us with his stories,
He lent a helping hand,
He helped us grow, he helped us learn,
He helped us take a stand.The Keepers watch in sadness,
As the winds of change now blow,
And bid our friend a fond farewell,
The Josiah we all know.“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1
"Courage is action in spite of fear."
March 5, 2018 at 9:20 pm #65669Aww, I didn’t know you were leaving, @aratrea ! You will be missed. Take good care of that frog and keep up the writing awesomeness!
@corissa-maiden-of-praise this is a great poem. <3Blog: https://weridasusual.home.blog/
March 5, 2018 at 9:23 pm #65670@daughteroftheking Thanks!
Also, maybe I should clarify that he’s notย leavingย leaving… mainly he’s stepping down from editor-in-chief; he’ll still be on the forum sometimes. There’s a post about it on the main KP website. ๐

March 5, 2018 at 9:29 pm #65671@corissa-maiden-of-praise And now I go back and read the announcement… Because sometimes I like to pretend I’m a time traveler and do the future first and then go back to the past. ๐

March 5, 2018 at 9:39 pm #65673This is the sweetest thing. ๐
Theater kid. Currently depressed because I can't stop listening to sad musicals.
March 5, 2018 at 9:46 pm #65674@corissa-maiden-of-praise Aww; thanks. ๐ I appreciate it a lot. You all are the bestisest people on the bestisest place on the internet. That Ecclesiastes passage is a very relevant passage for me during this time!
@daughteroftheking Yeah; I’ll still be around the forum (especially when tagged), but there’s going to be some new people taking on my role in the KP staff.Editor-in-Chief Emeritus. Guiding authors at Story Embers.
March 5, 2018 at 9:56 pm #65675@daughteroftheking Aren’t all writers secretly time travelers? ๐
@christi-eaton Thanks! (Also, side-note, I’m finally “officially” joining you in the theater department- I’m playing Mother Gothel in a brief comedy sketch with some friends for a 4-H competition ๐ )
@aratrea *grins* I’m glad you liked it! And change definitely gives a new appreciation for that Ecclesiastes passage."Courage is action in spite of fear."
March 5, 2018 at 10:54 pm #65676@aratrea I’m very glad you’ll still be around!
@corissa-maiden-of-praise I can neither confirm or deny that… ๐Blog: https://weridasusual.home.blog/

March 6, 2018 at 2:15 pm #65697@aratrea NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!ย This is Mr. Ironheart all over again….@ariella-newheart
Thank you for being the best editor-in-chief KP has ever had (to my knowledge). I can’t say anything eloquent right now so I’ll leave it at that.

https://forums.theaetherliMarch 6, 2018 at 9:14 pm #65736@aislinn-mollisong It’s been an honor to be the editor-in-chief here. Thanks. ๐

March 9, 2018 at 8:03 am #65993I’m surprised we haven’t had people dying over this yet. The KP medical ward hasn’t been used in a while, I don’t think. Maybe I should just die so the doctor can have someone to do…

*pops back up*
Wonderful poem @corissa-maiden-of-praise! I think that verse is becoming more important to me, what with everything in my life changing, such as friend’s going to college… *coughCorissacough* and people moving… It’s a great verse.

March 9, 2018 at 8:30 pm #66076@aratreaย I just realized that I made a whole speech on the home-page announcement for you, but never said the words “thank you…”
Sooooo thank you! Thank you for all that you have done here on KP. Thank you for all the writing advice and encouragement you have given everyone. And (this goes to Anna and @the-real-kapeefer as well) thank you SO much for the videos!! They are helpful, and so much fun to watch. They’re hilarious. I hope you can do more of them in the future ๐
