Yep, you can add another. (The current limit is actually 4 at this point btw.)
I was planning on having us add villains shortly after we finish the current “scene.”

November 12, 2024 at 11:06 am #189695I mean, it depends on what you want to do. Basically what’s going to happen is we’re going to cut to a different scene where the villain will have summoned his own group of characters. That’s when we’ll add our villains. But if you don’t care about your character showing up for that scene, I don’t care if you add them now.

📚 Appreciator of BooksNovember 12, 2024 at 3:03 pm #189704Soooo, do you think Rosemary could be called into this meeting, cause she either gets separated from the group? And if so, I will have her villain journey be different from my WIP. Since her husband doesn’t exist in this world. And maybe they could see the jealousy in her, of her brother, and use that to fuel her anger and rage?

November 12, 2024 at 5:44 pm #189711Yes, that could work. You’ll just have to engineer a way for her to get separated. (Or I can help contrive something to let that happen if you want.)

Ben Gunn and Flare – Group 1, Everstrand edge
Flare looked down from the roof top at the kid who just became unconscious as Ironwalkers surrounded him. He drew his sword.
“Flare don’t-” Ben didn’t finish his sentence when Flare jumped down. When he landed, he ran towards the kid. Flare started to attack with great determination to protect the kid. The Ironwalkers were at first surprised of their new enemy, but they started to attack with more force. Flare was attacking an Ironwalker when another Ironwalker’s sword came down. Flare flinched when he heard the clash of metal, and sure enough there was Ben. Ben and Flare fought side by side, but they were starting to get overcome.

@ellette-giselle @whalekeeper @jonas @loopylin @hybridloreBaron (Brutus)—with group 1, Elderstrand edge
Brutus sighed. Why did he even care? Here his body was tearing itself apart and he wanted to go back to help Flare and Ben and the boy.
Mustering his strength, Brutus got back up from where he lay, gritting his teeth as he did so. Hopefully for the final time, he called upon the wind, harnessing it to grab the unconscious form of the boy. Pulling him back to where they were, he left him to be carried on by someone else. As for Brutus, he tumbled from the roof top with a yell of pain, before standing and assessing the situation.
More power. He needed more power to blow the monsters back. But it would also blow away Flare and Ben if he were not careful. Could he even give that power without killing himself? He didn’t know, but at this point, it was die by hand of monster or die by internal bleeding. He could find more wind.
A great whirlwind gathered around him as he strained to control it. He had seen the other wind user he had fought, Max, use this method before. He could try to do it himself. The whirlwind grew, until Brutus sent it forth, doing its deed as it swept the iron monsters off their feet…along with Ben.
But Brutus didn’t care. He crumpled, coughing up more blood. The only wind now that he commanded was the one keeping his chest rising and falling.

Ben Gunn and Flare – Group 1, Everstrand edge
As soon as Flare realized he was on the ground, he was up again ready to fight. Ben was a little slower but got up quickly. All the Ironwalkers were still on the ground, but they started to get up.
“Quick, back to the roof.” They climbed to the top, finding Baron on the ground. Flare pulled out his lute.
“Hold on, I thought you couldn’t do anymore spells.” Ben was worried for his friend.
“What I’m about to do is not a spell, it’s just kind of something I can do.” Flare breathed in, as he breathed out, the lute started to sing its melody. The melody was smooth and light. Baron started to breathe less heavily, he was being healed. Ben sat there in awe, of the music and of the magic. Flare finished his song with a light chord as the sun began to rise on a new day.

Baron (Brutus)—with Group 1, Elderstrand edge
Pain. Brutus moaned as he lay on the ground, regretting greatly his decision to use that attack. Tears pricked at his eyes. The last time he had been hurt this bad was when he fought Max, but then, then his father was beside him as he lay in pain, a warm hand pressed to Baron’s cold cheek.
Baron became vaguely aware of Ben’s and Flare’s voices standing above him, and then the music began.
Oh the sweet sound! The sweet sound that brought long-forgotten happiness, tinged with sorrow, to Baron’s heart! The sweet sound that brought warm comfort. The sweet sound that gently pulled his body back together, that stopped the war that was tearing him apart.
But, oh, how at the same the reminder of comfort brought the reminder of pain! For it reminded him of the warm hand that had left his cheek, of the face that turned away. Of the knife that cut at his neck, and the fierce cold eyes of one once called friend. Of a shivering form with only a thin leather jacket to keep him warm in the winter, and of the months spent running. Worst of all, it was he who was the betrayer, it was he who was the one who caused the hand to leave his cheek and the face to turn away. It was he.
Did it truly matter that he did it to protect a little Jewel? A little child? Did it truly matter that he ran so that he’d no longer have to spill blood? Did it truly matter that he left to be the hero that little Jewel thought he was? In the end, he betrayed those he loved. In the end, he almost spilled the blood of one he had called friend. In the end, was his attempt to be a moral, virtuous, good man, really the man that was the Bloodsilver’s Baron, under a different guise?
A tear broke free from the pale shores that contained it, sliding down and dropping onto his scarf. Baron hoped it had not been seen.
The pain of his body slowly faded away as the music swept over him. He released the wind that kept him breathing and it fled away to make Ben’s hair it’s plaything. He lay perfectly still, eyes closed, savoring the music and the way it chased away all the physical pain. He pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind, wishing to think only of this wonderful bodily feeling.
When the song died away, Baron let out a sigh, comprised from a mixture of contentment and disappointment. He slowly got up to his feet, checking his body for any signs of pain. None. He adjusted his scarf, before giving Flare a heartfelt thank you. One of the few Baron had ever given.
He pulled his scarf over his nose. “We all should go now. Do we trust the man in the cloak’s wisdom? Do we head for the river?”
Sorry that it’s so long. I think I did Flare’s music justice, did I, Andrew?
