I might not be a veteran KPer, but most KPer’s who at least were around for Character Party often don’t Copy paste tags as far as I know. Back whenever it was, sometimes when you copy pasted tags, they wouldn’t be valid and wouldn’t work. It was a hit or miss tactic.
I’ve had the same problem.
I go by many names, Andrew, Andy, Mandrew, but you may call me... BATMAN!!!
November 10, 2024 at 8:12 am #189589Your characters and Rina are still on the ship. Sorry that it’s been a while since anything’s happened there. Like I said earlier, I’ve been waiting for someone else in the other group to go so that we can move towards combining those two, but if no one goes soon, I’ll just go myself.

I understand, maybe I should send one of my characters, I have two. So one of them can stay. Plus has the boat left yet? If not then I will make it Jirah, if that is okay of course! (For me to go.) If it has left then I will make it the more daring character Rosemary.

Okay we should probably head towards the river
Marcel — Elderstrand (w/Group 1)
Marcel doubled over to cough, and punched the wind elemental’s shoulder. It was the best way he could think of communicating friendship.
They had to find a way out of there. He got an idea, and glanced at his companion. “You can lift people, eh?”
The man nodded roughly.
“We should get people on the roofs.” When he could breathe again, he called out to the others. “Half-circle around the wall! That one, the north one!”
Suddenly, he felt painfully aware of his appearance. He looked too young to give instruction. But no one said anything; they backed up to the wall and continued warding off the iron creatures.
“If you can, help people up,” Marcel said to the elemental. “I’ll deflect these things, and you guys get a head start searching for an escape. Can you do that?”

Baron(Brutus)—With Group 1, Elderstrand edge
Brutus nodded, even though he knew the strain on him would probably temporarily cripple him.
He lifted Leon from where he lay on the other rooftop first, bringing him back over to their group. He was still out cold, and Brutus left Julian with him. Next, Brutus took up Flare, and after him, the others, lifting them two at a time.
After the last had gone up, Brutus fell to his knees, coughing blood. His arms and body were shaking as his muscles twitched. He turned back to the boy. “We’re good,” he shouted as loud as he could. A last wind caught Brutus up, carrying him to the roof with the others. “I can pull you up if you need it.” Brutus looked at the others. “What are you doing? Get moving!” He coughed again, lying down to rest.

Felicity—Group 1, Elderstrand
Felicity shot a glare at the guy who had just brought everyone to the roof. He was currently lying down, exhausted, and right within kicking range. Felicity did not like being pulled from a fight before she could finish it.
“What? So we’re just leaving the kid by himself down there!?” she yelled at him. She stamped her foot, and with the action came another jolt of pain and wave of dizzy nausea. Again, she ignored it and continued to glare down at him.
Sorry I’m really not trying to slow stuff down, but I can’t imagine her doing anything else

Baron (Brutus)—with Group 1, Elderstrand edge
Brutus sighed. “If he calls for help, I will not hesitate to answer, but you must all go on. He is fighting so you can get a head start running, don’t waste it. I’m staying here to make sure he’s alright.”

Ellis — Elderstrand (Group 1)
Ellis suddenly found himself whisked off the ground and deposited onto a nearby roof, along with the rest of the group…except Marcel.
“No way!” Ellis snapped. “We can’t leave anyone behind!”
Just then there was a thud and the rooftop shook. Ellis carefully moved to the edge and glanced down. One of the creatures was digging its fingers into the wall and pulling itself slowly up towards them.
“You have to go.”
Ellis whipped around to find someone else standing on the roof. He wore a brown cloak with a hood and had a sword strapped to his side. “Head to the river,” the man continued, pointing into the distance. “The others are aboard a ship, preparing to leave the city. You’ll find them there.”
“Others?” Ellis repeated. “What others?”
“Listen,” the man said urgently. “We don’t have time. Head for the river. I will stay to hold these Ironwalkers off. I will make sure you all get out of here.”

Rina panted for breath, dripping water. She was completely soaked after that dive. She glanced up towards the sky, which was now dropping water on them. Maybe it didn’t really matter anyway.
The ship was floating down the river, picking up speed. The soldiers were still chasing after them, but the Ironwalkers had disappeared.
Rina didn’t like the sensation of standing on something that was floating in the water. It didn’t feel particularly stable.
Nearby Fleet was in conversation with one of his men.
“We’ve had no word from Echo or Black’s parties, sir. They should have been here by now.”
“Blast,” said Fleet. “You think the walkers got them?”
“Quite possibly, sir. The captain’s gone out on his own to see what he can find. He ordered us not to wait for him.”
Fleet strode back and forth, agitated.
Just then, Rina caught sight of something further downstream on the left bank.
“Are those…people?”
Fleet hurried to the rail. “And Ironwalkers,” he added. “We’ve got to get them out of there.”
“Right,” said Rina. “See you in a minute.”
“Wait, what–”
She opened a portal and dropped through.
@highscribeofaetherium @beth-torresIlahna — Elderstrand, Deepwater, on shore
Ilahna pushed her strings forward, forming a translucent barrier or shimmering light. The armored creatures shoved against it. Her song faltered slightly under their pressure, but she pushed back, holding them at bay. She glanced backwards, willing her companions to do something to get them out of there, but she couldn’t spare any of her Voices to speak.
Suddenly, with a quick flash of blue light, someone landed on the shore nearby. “Alright, people,” the girl said. “Let’s get out of here!” Ilahna glanced back to see a hole in the air outlined in blue light. Beyond it was the deck of the ship. As she was trying to wrap her head around how that could work, one of the creatures rammed its shoulder against her barricade, and the song broke.

Rosemary saw Rina disappear down a hole that seemingly came from nowhere. She ran towards Fleet, with increasing interest. “What happened? Where did she go!?” Rosemary asked with much curiosity. “I am not sure, she jumped down into this portal thing!” Fleet replied. “Interesting! And does this portal still lead to the same place?” She asked
“I would imagine.” He answered. Rosemary stared down at it, “You know, I wouldn’t want to take the risk.” She said with uncertainty. “Plus who cares to follow a person that loves to exhibit all they do!” She promptly said and walked away.

Marcel — Elderstrand (w/Group 1)
Without waiting for the group to disappear over the rooftops, Marcel ran at the ironwalker he had previously maimed.
His opponent horizontally sliced its broadsword. Marcel leapt onto the hilt and quickly stuck his hand into the elbow joint. As he sent his fractals up the creature’s arm, it retaliated by clawing at the threat. Marcel held on with his good hand and swung to avoid being grabbed again.
His ability took many seconds to spread, which could mean life and death. Finally, the ironwalker shivered from pressure and fell into pieces. Curling white tendrils burst from the chinks, like rose petals caught in the wind.
Marcel looked up, then quickly realized the incoming danger and began sprinting down the street. Seven of the hulking knights followed him, their feet drumming the ground in synch.
“A teapot could handle more pressure! Come on, crush me!” he called. As he took in deep lungfuls of air, flashes of lightning lit up over his head, illuminating the sparse treetops scattered across the city. With every gasp, he pushed himself towards one of the trees, hopeful and desperate.
When he made it to an ancient oak, he climbed mostly with his good hand, swinging to the topmost branch. He crouched on top of his staff and stared through the leaves below.
The metal humanoids circled the tree and tilted their heads go the sky. They began to hack at the trunk’s base with their swords. It was too dark to see them working, but the force shot up into the branches and almost knocked Marcel off his staff. The vibrations rattled his teeth.
…The vibrations. Thunder hummed above.
Marcel held out his hand, watching the spiraling patterns pulse. He could feel the sound waves crackling inside him, as if his feathers had absorbed the energy.
He whipped his head back and dove into the sky, feathery limbs sprouting from his back.
…He hadn’t flown in a long time. The wings contained a lot of memories he couldn’t recall at the moment – the body remembers – and they felt almost like a childhood friend who has become unfamiliar. But they would be incredibly useful to gain altitude.
He flew into the darkness. Thunder boomed, a horrible crackling sound, and Marcel’s fractals thrummed with mounting energy. His ears stopped working. When his body began to convulse, he dove back into the tree branches.
He released the vibrations into the oak. The ironwalkers froze, their swords connected to the trunk. Instead of falling apart or keeling over, they simply stood there, as if the gears in their tiny minds had rusted.
Marcel slid down the tree. His crushed hand failed him, and his back landed on a tree root. From then on, he lost consciousness.
…
@jonas The creatures are at least unconscious for a while. I figured their armor holds them up even if they’re asleep. Your rebel NPCs should find it easier to round them up and deal with them effectively. …And I leave my character in your hands to carry on a cot somewhere. XD“Everything is a mountain”
November 11, 2024 at 5:22 pm #189685Aaaand I shall cross my arms and back away from this, because I have roleplayed enough already.

November 12, 2024 at 9:22 am #189692Hey Jonas, could I add a new character to this? I only have two, and you said the current limit was three. So I was wondering if I could add in a character to develop Rosemary. Her character has gotten nowhere, and besides her acting more of a jerk then usual to Rina, she hasn’t been all that evil.
And speaking of evil, when will villains be introduced? I feel a common antagonist will keep the plot steady and moving. Just some small questions I had on my mind, Thanks!
