Hey guys! Have you ever had a scene in your mind that you could visualize perfectly, but when your pen hits your paper, you don’t know what to write? I’ve got an idea for you 😀

It can really help to write your story like a play. You get all the essential dialogue and action without worrying about descriptions. You can see how your scene plays out without committing to every little detail. If you like how it turns out you can add to the basic outline you’ve written, and if not you can delete it without feeling like you’ve thrown away a bunch of hard work.

(if you need an example of how you would write it, lemme know)

      Monsters creep
      In the silent dark-deep
      In the filling-eye hills
      In the shriveled hand-keep

Sure! I’ve got a scene with Bronwen and her best friend that I wrote back in January, I’ll try and find it.

For a little background, Kami is Bronwen’s best friend. they’ve known each other for most of their lives and treat each other like sisters. They’re almost perfect opposites; Kami is loud and energetic while Bronwen is very quiet and practical. Kami tends to be a bit overdramatic, and Bronwen really doesn’t like to be bothered when she’s preoccupied.

Bronwen is sitting on the couch with a composition notebook and a furrowed brow. Suddenly, Kami barrels into the room and throws herself onto the couch, causing Bronwen’s pen to slip.

Bronwen: (sighs loudly and turns to glare at Kami) Do you need something?

Kami: Do you have any more jolly ranchers?

                Bronwen: No.

Kami: How about sour patch kids?

Bronwen: Kamille, I am terribly busy.

Kami: Do you have any sugar at all?

                Bronwen: I do not. Leave.

                Kami: Skittles? Got any-

Bronwen: (getting very irritated) Fine, Kami, want a jawbreaker?

                Kami: OOH YEAH

Bronwen: (smacks her across the face with her notebook) There you are, snap out of it.

There ya go! I hope that helped. (It might not be the best, it originally started as a badly drawn comic 😅)
