Oh ok. So does he have a negative character arc? šŸ„ŗ Or does he end up getting redeemed?

Oh hehe how do I explain this…

he is redeemed, he’s a poor boi that through lack of resources was forced to basically join a gang…

It was for multiple reasons, but basically theirs a robbing gang around the area (Kendrick is a orphan) he joined because he didn’t have a family and it was the closest thing. he thought they loved him, but eventually as he got older he was expected to participate and was really struggling. He just didn’t have the personality for it, and had a really hard time being braisin. Eventually he was forced to participate and help the group, and he ended up stealing an axe from everly. She was using it at the time, and he accidentally cut her when prying it from her hands. So yeah, it was extreme peer pressure. This is the event that set off Kaine’s character arc of dealing with fear (Obviously it was a traumatizing experience). It isn’t until much later that Kaine meets Kendrick, because up until that point he’s just some guy who hurt Everly. Anyways, later you see his backstory that he felt so bad he just dropped the axe on the way home because he couldn’t take it any longer. It was then that he realized this group didn’t actually care about him, and they were just mad. I haven’t figured out a lot after this, but he ends up being friends with Kaine eventually.

XD so yeah! Redemption but he was always just a broken boi to begin with

              Umā€¦ a couple.

I guess Everton kind of counts. Throughout the trilogy, he struggles with thinking he is a failure, but I think, after writing him more, that his root struggle is pride. He has this desire to feel important and to be loved, and his father never made him feel that way. His father made him feel the opposite. So because of that, he thinks heā€™ll never be good enough. (Even though on the outside, he has a big ego. XD) I think because he struggles with his pride and I do too, there are times I want to give him a hug, and other times where Iā€™m like ā€œDude, get over yourself.ā€ šŸ˜‚

Now, Adrian on the other handā€¦ his struggle is similar to Evertonā€™s. He wants to earn his fatherā€™s approval, so he does *spoilers* for his father. Adrian doesnā€™t really know who he is and he desires to be loved and valued. He thinks that doing what his father wants is going to earn his fatherā€™s approval and acceptance, even if it means sacrificing things that Adrian previously treasured. I could go into more detail if youā€™re interested, but his whole struggle revolves around spoilers, so thatā€™s why Iā€™ve been so vague. XD

Aww that’s cool! I always kinda noticed Everton’s pride… it comes off in the way he talks XD

Would you describe him as being flamboyant? Or not quite? he kinda strikes me that way.

Oh… interesting. Does he get redeemed? I’d love to know more about Adrian! I honestly feel like for some characters, the more interesting side of them is the what if they did comply/follow something bad… idk it’s just really intriguing! I haven’t read anything with him that I know if, but I think he might be my favorite XD

I LOVE the poem. I feel like I relate so much to that lately.

And attaching it to a character would definitely evoke a deeper more emotional connection to them.

Hereā€™s one of my more recent ones:

                      True Victory

                      Theyā€™ve been promoted to glory

                      Because Jesus was their story.

They lived a full life of service

And are now in their Saviourā€™s embrace.

Spent their share of blood, sweat, and tears

And are now free of all pain and fears.

                      They have passed into paradise

Where sin can no longer entice

We remember of them what matters

                      Their characters, service, and smiles

                      Everyone chooses their legacy

By the way that they live daily.

                      Day to day passes

                      Insignificant to us

But they stack up into time

Days. Hours. Minutes that were mine.

                      Do I squander them foolishly

Or set my sights on goals Heavenly?

Where do I give? Where do I take?

What do I do with the money I make?

I cannot live on a whim

                      I must first consult Him.

The Giver of all life on earth

The Granter of my every breath

The Crafter of my very soul

Who wants my life completely whole

                      Navigating life is treacherous

But made possible by the Spirit in us

                      He is guidance. Peace. Comfort.

                      Wisdom. Hope. Encouragement.

                      Each little moment of victory

Adds up til one is swept away

                      Transferred on to after life

Where there is no longer any strife

There all their deeds are tested

With holy fire they are ignited.

This fire decides our eternal roles

To what levels the King will make us stewards.

If our life doings prove mixed with garbage

                      The inheritance will be average

But if they be precious things

                      Great rewards the King brings.

So live this life Kingdom minded

Ever on the Truth keep focused

So one day when you cross the line

God can say, ā€œWell done! Child of Mine.ā€

                      These beautiful words I crave

And are all I want once I leave

                      The truly victorious

                      Will be crowned glorious

                      Only to cast their crowns

At the feet of the all deserving King of Kings

                      May each one consider-

                      Will your legacy linger?

                              @overcomer

                              Thank you. šŸ˜Š

It seems for me I write 2-3 in a week then go another few weeks before I can think up another šŸ˜‚ they just strike me randomly and then I have to write them down. I usually have a notebook in my pocket but after loosing my last notebook at work a week ago Iā€™m probably not going to do that again for a while. šŸ˜ thankfully I copy them all onto a Google Doc after Iā€™ve written them out so I didnā€™t loose any.

The funny part was that Iā€™d asked around for a week if anyone had seen said notebook before buying a new one and starting to copy them into it and the day I got the new notebook I came the closest Iā€™d been to finding the notebook but it still remains unfound.

So Nick one of my coworkers came up to me and said,

ā€œSo Lilly. I saw a notebook exactly to that description. It was the floor. And it would have been a week ago. It was near your department on the usual path that you take.ā€

                              ā€Really?!ā€

                              ā€œSure was.ā€

ā€What did you do with it?ā€

ā€Oh, nothing, of course. I left it there.ā€ He said matter of factly and looked at me as if I was crazy for expecting more of him.

I was thinking,Ā What?! Buddy, you just left a piece of my very heart and soul on the floor!Ā But of course I said none of that out loud and in all honesty his actions didnā€™t shock me. Typical guy (and youngest child). Not my property not my problem. Just the fact that he remembers it to that much detail was the funny part.

                                  @Elanor, that’s beautiful!

Here’s one I wrote a bit ago inspired by a Bible Study on Ephesians and stepping forward in faith through an open door.

Now pursuing a dream once set.
                                  Sounds of victory over regret
                                  Still echo in my head.
                                  Triumphant.
                                  Triumphant.
Least of all the saints, onward
Serving most of all my Lord
Still forward even when I’m terrified
                                  Triumphant.
                                  Triumphant.
City of gold here I come.
