Anddddd to my. Veggie Tales peoples here’s a Pirates who don’t do anything rendition I made.
The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything (Cretans Version)
Written for a fun summary after our study of Titus on Crete. We talking about how the Cretes who accepted Christ were being transformed from war faring pirating people into Children of the King.Â
We are the Cretans
Who fight for everything
We make weapons and go to war
And if you ask us to be friendly
We’ll just tell you we can’t be friendly
Cause we’ve established city states
And expanded beyond our gates
And we’re never satisfied
Because we’re always wanting more
So we wreak havoc on the waves
As cheating lying pirates
And we’ll never give it up forevermore.
‘Cause we’re the Cretans
Who fight for everything
We make weapons and go to war
And if you ask us to be friendly
We’ll just tell you we can’t be friendly
So we fight, pillage, and plunder
We strike like angry thunder
Our survival is a wonder
Since we never get along
So we remain hostile neighbors
And we will not cease our labours
And we’ll never give it up forevermore.
‘Cause we’re the Cretans

Now since Christ’s own blood redeemed us
We’ve found mercy and forgiveness
His love is such a wonder
Because He gave it to us first
So we seek to love and serve Him
We’ll do anything to please Him
And we’ll never give Him up forevermore.
We are the Christians
Who in everything
Seek to show God’s love
From our home above
And if you ask us our identity
We will tell you of our home heavenly.

This is my most recent poem. Most of my poetry is brief in length. Usually, I get out an idea or a feeling and then stop.
Forgottenings
Sediments of nostalgia shape a place:
Like icing on a cake, wrinkles in a face
Aging, changing, but ever the same feelings,
Nameless emotions, memories stirring
Like ghosts, haunting, yearning, wanting—
To rise from their graves, unbecoming—
The mere forgottenings of time and space.

Those are great! Here is one of mine I found, I wrote it for some of my best friends who were leaving the neighborhood a few years ago. Its dosent really rhyme, but the words flow great together!

I can’t tell you what inspired this one it just came out.
Masked
These days I am a stormcloud
shrouded in sunbeams
With waves of dark thought yet
Joy’s fountain remains.
If you hit the wrong trigger
I might just explode.
But if it remains hiddenÂ
I’m sure I’ll implode.
Like bitter dark chocolateÂ
With sweetness enrobed
On the outside it’s pleasantÂ
Until it is probed.
Perhaps I’m unassumingÂ
Until my blinds part
Then watch out before I strike
With a pointed dart.Â
Though I’m haloed in light
There’s dark thoughts inside
You say you know me, friendÂ
But do you know all I hide?
I may look full of life
When in truth I’m exhaustedÂ
And at the end of the day
Am grateful just to have lasted
There’s so many masks I wear
To look strong to all I know
So that I’m not a burden
It becomes a weight to me though.Â

Poetry! I wrote this one mostly for my oc Kendrick. It could go for aa couple of different charries I have though, It’s just a general representation of depression.
Broken wings
With broken wings I fell towards earth
A symbol of my weightless worth
Destined to this rampant fall
With no-one there to catch me at all
Faster falling, further still
Seemingly against my will
From this dismal place I’ll call
With no one there to hear me at all
With broken wings once more I’ll try
To reach again into the sky
My former glory to restore
To feel the way I felt before
Faster falling, further still
Seemingly within my will
So, pull me from this awful dream
Rescue me from this never-ending scheme
My hardened shell can’t ease the fall
Nor give me the voice I need to call
In this dismal place I wait
Hoping for someone to just relate
The ground is coming, coming faster
But darkness won’t become my master
Quick, pull me from this awful dream
And to my former self redeem
Reach out please and touch my hand
I just need someone to understand.
I’m pretty happy with hoe it turned out and kinda want to include it in a book someday, like maybe Kendrick writes poetry and he writes this one? idk.

Thats really good! I sometimes write poems for my characters too, or even just to pop in places in my book like at the beginning of a chapter or wherever I need one 🙂 .

Aww, so sad!! 😢 I don’t think I’ve ever heard about Kendrick before. Is he in the WIP with Tauren and Lesli?

yep! He’s a later character though, so I haven’t worked on his plot a whole lot. He’s a part of Kaine’s arc. Honestly ig he’s a bit like who Kaine could have become without Everly.
