@felicity Aw, four sisters, what a blessing! 💗Lol the ironies of a writer’s life 😅
I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
April 9, 2023 at 11:20 pm #139716Amen. “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith, so that your proud confidence in me may abound in Christ Jesus through my coming to you again.”
Philippians 1:21-26Y’all, I’d love to be over my messups and be safe and pure with the Lord. But I’ll wait on the Lord’s timing alone for my homeward call. My life is purposeful. He has appointed Kingdom work while I’m away far from home. And I stand on the threshold of what it is.
I’m excited for the work God has for us. Like you wrote, Elanor, it seems like I’m replaceable but because I’m here I am filling the spot. Sometimes I feel alone and useless, but other times I feel so poured into and productively pouring out. As I look around at the authors and authoresses at KP, I’m excited to take bookstore shelves by storm with y’all and flood them with Christian literature.
Also, y’all’s poems are so good! Keep writing!
April 10, 2023 at 7:54 am #139719Amen! Those two verses pretty well sum it up. Lately I feel both overwhelmed with a call for home and to stay here as long as I can to reach as many as I can with Christ’s light.
Yess. I’ve gotten myself into the indie Christian author corner via KP and then on to other similar things and I think I’ll have endless reads there. But it’s so sad that I can’t just go to the library and pick up a book and start reading without fear of it being filled with trash.

April 10, 2023 at 3:45 pm #139763Then at the same time my heart aches for all the unsaved friends that I have who have no interest in Christ at all and I’m thinking Lord wait maybe with time I can plant enough seeds and you’ll change they’re stony hearts.
Yes, it is a balance between wanting Jesus to return and also wanting Him to wait so the unsaved can repent. I am spurred on to be a light wherever I go, and remember that every moment counts, because someday, it will be too late for them.
As I look around at the authors and authoresses at KP, I’m excited to take bookstore shelves by storm with y’all and flood them with Christian literature.
Amen! I love your enthusiasm. Together we can reach people for Jesus as we spread truth-filled stories into the world!! Onward…WRITE! 😉
Aw, four sisters, what a blessing! 💗
Indeed! The Lord has blessed me.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
April 13, 2023 at 9:12 am #139934This is my first published poem (published on the Rebelution). When I had HFMD, I had to quarantine in my bedroom, a familiar space–lonely, but familiar and full of my things. Then a month later with covid, I had to quarantine in the guest room. And it was scary to be carrying such a dangerous disease. And it was scary to be alone in a “strange place.” But every night, as I was lying on my mattress on the floor, the moon would come in the window. It was so silently comforting. I felt not as alone. Thus, this poem:
The dusk,
We feared to enter in as it foretold a foreboding gloom.
As the night curtain fell,
Darkness was our doom.
Yet, lo, with a holy halo crown
The moon gently shines down
To where you are prone on the floor
And sweetly whispers to your lonely core,
“When you feel alone in the dark of night
It is important to know that the moon still shines–
A reflection of the shining sun you forgot
And fretted all your hope in the dawn was for naught.
There yet beams a white smile from the moon,
A foretaste of the golden light coming soon.”
The dawn victoriously melts away the night;
Such sweet friendship we have with the light.
New, brand new, is now our story
In mercies of sunlit glory.
The sun never stopped brilliantly beaming
Regardless of what the night’s lies had you believing.
The moon was proof that the hope still reigned
By simply reflecting the light that it gained.
So if the sun is Jesus, the source of our Life,
Will you be His moon for someone’s hard night?
Faithfully reminding the lonely they are never alone
Till the final dawn beckons you home.
April 16, 2023 at 1:17 am #140237This isn’t the prettiest rhythm, but I love the heart.
Lord don’t let me
walk with You with my dregs
when I’ve spent
all of myself with the rest.
I’m surrounded by distracting tolls
when You by right
should own my best.
Fix my broken eyes to purely
and firstly view
working and walking wholly
with the fullest of me for You.
(Also, do any of you make up pen names or pseudonyms for your works? I used to use “Nicole Felicity.”)

I went back and forth for a while but decided to just use my own name. But it’s fun to think of epic pen names.

April 16, 2023 at 8:49 am #140240Here’s one I wrote yesterday. It’s not the best but here:
Hallelujah
Making Hallelujah into a note
And accompanying lyrics wrote
When one is going through trials and pains
They let it out though their creative strains
The greatest of musicians and authors
Went through pain, heartbreak, suffering, and wars
Instead of becoming crippled and weak
Used their pens and notes so they wouldn’t break
But they’re also used when one’s to burst
With a heart that’s overflowing with the best
Stories of love, joy and happiness
Of magical fairytales and wishes
The hearts of authors bleed out through their pens
Their very souls are displayed on their lines
Getting out of their shells and sharing
Their art to the world is terrifying
But if my words can be used for God’s glory
Hallelujah will be in my story
If I through my thoughts and wonderings
Can declare my greatest King of all kings
It makes every tear worth its long fall
And every joy all the more full
It can be used for peace or a weapon
The powerful expressive author’s pen.

Wow! I have read all your poems and I love them so much! I am sorry I haven’t been on so long, but now i can be on more often! I haven’t written any poetry lately, but I have had a few ideas!
"Would you kindly...?"
April 28, 2023 at 10:27 pm #141737Im soo glad you enjoyed them. I’m less than active myself. To be honest I’m basically absent unless someone tags me, mentions poetry, or a favourite book/author.
