Do you prefer simple or complex storylines?

I honestly love both. I have favorite stories that are incredibly complex and other favorites that are super simple.

Though when it comes to writing, I definitely prefer simple storylines. I could say the reason is because of the commonly preached principle of doing a few things really well rather than doing many things just okay, but the real reason I prefer writing simple storylines is because the story I’m working on with my siblings now is driving us insane. It keeps unintentionally getting more and more complex and for no good reason.

So we’ve all come together and agreed that, our next story, it’s going to be simple. One main character, one simple goal.

Until then we are still in the thick of the catastrophe we are working on now lol.
